Common Sense: A Second American Revolution

Rate this book
In 2010 Congress passed Obamacare despite the opposition of a majority of U.S. voters. Also, the government "stimulus" designed by our government to combat unemployment has dismally failed to reduce unemployment and is opposed by a majority of U.S. voters. Congress and the U.S. president have spent massive funds, far beyond all available tax monies paid by taxpayers and have borrowed enormous sums by issuing treasury securities. In addition to these debt obligations, the government has gigantic unfunded liabilities for future payments under Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. These liabilities will inflict vast obligations upon our children and grandchildren and their descendants. In turn, massive tax increases are likely to be imposed in order to pay off these obligations. In short, we are exactly in the same position today as the founders of America were in 1776. Taxation without representation is a pressing problem today, just as it was in 1776.
