To escape my captors, I’ll have to pretend to fall in love with one of them. But what happens when the lie starts to feel real?
When the leader of the Uleki tribe decides to sell me off to another tribe known for their particularly brutal ways, I know I need to escape before we reach their village in the mountains.
So I decide to seduce one of the Xaathians assigned to transport me, hoping he’ll let his guard down enough that I’ll be able to slip away.
The only problem is, faking a connection with Zaid is too easy.
Although he belongs to the same tribe that’s kept me captive, there’s something different about him. It’s in the way he looks at me, the way he speaks to me, and the way he seems so protective of me.
As we make our way up the mountain, attraction sparks between us… and even though I know it’s all supposed to be fake, I can’t help the way his touch lights me on fire.
But can I ever truly trust this barbarian warrior who should be my enemy? And what will happen when he discovers my deception?
Alien Hunter’s Captive is a full-length standalone sci-fi romance featuring a smoldering alien warrior and the human woman he can’t help but fall for.
If you like sexy aliens, sweeping adventure, and steamy romance, you’ll love this series. No cheating, no cliffhanger, and a happily ever after guaranteed!
Note: each book in the series can be read as a standalone, but for maximum enjoyment, it’s recommended that the series be read in order.
I love reading romance, baking (well... eating) cookies, and binge-watching sci fi shows with my husband. I'm a sucker for a dirty talking alpha with a heart of gold, and I write stories about fierce aliens and the strong Earth women they fall in love with.
I'm still not sure how I feel about this series in general, but this entry has its moments. I may have even given it a higher rating if it weren't for the fact that the MMC gave up the FMC, knowing what her fate would be. The FMC can forgive but usually, I don't. However, I'll say that the MMC does make up for it. My only other issue is (and I can't believe I'm saying this) but the amount of sex that takes place when they are literally running for their lives is just ... *shakes head* I have no words. It made me want to skim because I'm all about suspending disbelief but when they knock you out because you're too busy getting.... busy? yeah, I can't.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B... This book did a good job of exploring the tension of what would happen if she was truly held captive and the hero couldn't save her. That's also a lot more stressful and these two took it to the extremes every time so I had to skim ahead because I was so nervous! But I loved both these characters and their flaws. I liked that they struggled to get to their happy ending and the writing is really good. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
CLEARLY this author is limited in her vocabulary (clear, clearly, and as if being her favorite stunted repetitive words) and even uses phrases that make absolutely no sense coming from an alien barbarian who doesn't have much to do with any kind of technology-> like "down to the wire". Why in the seven hells would Zaid say that?! What wire has he ever fussed with electrical or otherwise?! That is a HUMAN expression coming from an alien who has never encountered humans before. Really?! Bloody hell. That's not the only one either but it's the only one that stuck out at the moment.
And why would he refer to himself as a man? He's not human. Therefore, he would not call himself a man, rather he'd say male.
It's things like this that unequivocally pull me out of a story and irritate me. This particular story reads terribly. The decisions the two main characters- Abigail and Zaid make, are so stupid that it renders the characters unlikable despite a touching back story. Like for instance, why in the hell would those two have loud sex when they're on the run from the Jakk?! Close to their territory and in the same vicinity as where Zaid knocked out his kinsmen. Then fuck in a prison cell. Then fuck again when they're on the run AGAIN in Jakk territory. Abigail repeatedly being described as "screaming" through her orgasm. Screaming? Please have her do more stupid things. It's not annoying enough.
That brings about another issue I have with this author: she's lazy. As in, she copy and pastes all of her sex scenes from one book to another. There is a repetitive sequence of sexual events and they are as follows:
-male goes down on female. Even if he's a virgin and has never seen a human vagina which I find strange. Would he not feel around first?
-oral situation leads to multiple orgasms and the female character thinking, exactly like the other characters in past books in this exact order "human men can't do that! Wow!" *eye roll*
-then after orally giving a female 35 orgasms, the male finally pushes his "massive hardness" into her, but it never actually hurts much? Like she IMMEDIATELY has ANOTHER orgasm? Ffs this just leads me to believe this author has never been with a well-endowed man because a giant member hurts. It is not automatically orgasm inducing because it's enormous. It's bloody uncomfortable, so stop acting like "he's so much bigger than even the biggest human male!" is even remotely realistic because it really is not.
Rinse and repeat. In every book. Copy and pasted. Every single time.
Hey author- not every woman wants this exact order. Not every woman even likes those acts. Yet every single one of your female characters do as though they all share the same brain (you). Please stop. Expand your horizons.
This author is not gifted with a first person POV in multiple characters. They all sound the exact same. Even down to the way they speak. There is no unique personality amongst the lot of them, which makes this particular series quite unlikable.
I discussed this awful series with a friend and she's urged me to finish the next book. I suppose I might. But I am not holding out much bloody hope it will be any better. I can say for certain that Presley Hall needs to take a step back and consider that first person POV is not her strong suit, neither are steamy romance scenes. They are all the same. They are all boring. And CLEARLY everyone screams. *eye roll*
I've read some steamy smut in my day and this....is not doing it. Not at all.

The first half is somewhat ridiculous! She isn’t as scared as you would expect, and very quickly dose a Stockholm bullshit, cause, ‘mates’, yeah… He’s part of a group taking her to be sold as a s3x slave, breeding slave, cannibals snack… but hey, he’s attractive and nice 🤣😂🤬
STILL!! None of the women have problems walking around barefoot, SERIOUSLY?
At least someone finally had to urinate, once 😅
They did remember to bathe also, but somehow they only commented, noticed, were, dirty right before washing, never mentioned otherwise.
No teeth brushing in the whole time..
So many details missed, ignored, or forgotten in between.
The second half significantly improved regarding the FMC awareness of her situation, she even had tiny moments of anger and recognition of others guilt. Though she still feels guilty for having done whatever was necessary to try and survive 🤬 I really got pissed every time I read that!
The first time they escaped, they stopped in the middle to have sex 🫣😱 What, are they horny teenagers tstl? It gets them caught, haha
Second time… they do it again 🤬🤣🫣 this time they’re not caught, cause it’s the big happy moment..
In fairness, this WAS an improvement in many details from the first. But the author still has a long way to go. So many classic mistakes, tropes, cringe devices.. but also so much really good stuff in between.
We learned a lot more about other cultures, but not enough about the main tribes featured. It contained some more environmental details and body habits, but still not enough.. no hair brush required, no mention of tangled, greasy hair, smelly bodies, bad breath, having to pee in front of each other when locked in one room for days..
I really wish I could go over this in red, and point out all the missing bits so it can live up to the implied potential …. Sigh.
Am going to read the next, see if it continues to improve. This author genuinely seems worth it.
Last whinge, quit with the ridiculous sex marathons, when supposedly exhausted, filthy, etc… if injured, PLEASE don’t forget in the very next scene! 😅🤣😂
2/5 ⭐️ Never read a boring alien abduction but here we are
•••
Possible Triggers - Abduction, violence, human slavery, major injury, threat of SA, cannibalism mention, parent death
Tropes - Mars needs women, fated mates, insta(ish) love,
•••
Tl;Dr - These human women have been abducted and held by an alien tribe called the Ulek. But things don’t stop there for Abigail, because she’s being traded to the notoriously violent (and cannibalistic) Jakk tribe. In her transport team is Zaid, a tribe hunter who was run over by not-a-horse and has permanent mobility issues. Zaid can’t seem to figure out why he’s so obsessed with the small human woman.
•••
The Characters - Abugail: former librarian, recent abductee, and current human chattel. She’s kinda shy
Zaid: He was trampled by a cat-horse as a child and now suffers from mobility issues and an inferiority complex. Im definitely being a little harsh, but it’s true! He’s also a sweetie in general. •••
My Thoughts - First half: walking. Second half: Escape attempt #1, captured, sold, escape attempt #2, re-captured, sold again, MATE, escape attempt #3, success?
I’m bored. Therefore, I’m not going to keep reading this series.
Abigail is one of a dozen women abducted from earth and brought to Xaath’s. But she is taken to be traded to another tribe for gemstone. This tribe does have a lot of women and are seeking them out. Zaid offered to help take Abigail up the mountain to the other tribe with his fellow tribe men. But in the back in his mind he felt it wrong. But didn’t speak up until they delivered her to the tribe and found out what their intentions were. Not knowing how cruel his tribe can be, wanting to find belonging and to prove himself. Zaid goes back for her, fighting his fellow clans to get to her. But getting her to safety is not going to plan. Can Abigail trust Zaid to keep her safe?
Can I say Presley’s series are just getting better by the book. I highly recommend this book and the 1st book of this series.
I have actually always enjoyed Presley Hall’s books. I’ve read most of them and I even really liked the first book in the fated mates of Xaathian barbarian series. But this book was quite the disappointment. I would almost recommend readers skip book 2 in this series. I am always on board for the love, romance, and sex, but this book was excessive to the point it just felt like filler. I also was not impressed with all of the talk of cannibals and sexual abuse of women. I think Presley Hall really went the wrong way with this one and I hope that none of her other books are like this. I will say again that I really like most of Presley Hall’s books. Maybe this one was just a miss.
Abigail is going from the frying pan into the fire. If being kidnapped isn't bad enough she is now looking at being traded to a brutal tribe who will do unspeakable things with her.
Zaid who is an innocent bystander volunteers himself to go to the Jaak tribe, Unfortunately for him he didn't realize that he was going there to trade the human female Abigail.
There was a lot of back and forth in this story. There are extreme highs and lows for these two but eventually they realize that they are meant to be together and become an unstoppable team which leads them through some very taxing times.
Another great read from Presley. Abigail is one of the Terran women stolen twice and now to be traded to the Jakk a nasty tribe with no women, she is a quiet librarian who has no intention of being traded and is determined to escape. Zaid is the lowest warrior within the Uleki tribe he is weak he volunteers to go trade Abigail but he is drawn to her will he find his strength and courage before it’s too late to save them both. There are a few ups and downs and some near misses but mates will always find a way.
This one is a little more emotional and stressful than book one, and parts of it had me on the edge of my seat. There were times when I was so angry with the MMC that I wanted to throw my Kindle, but ultimately, I fell in love with him anyway. He is actually really sweet. 😅
🔞 18+ read. There are definitely triggers in this series, but I can not find a content warning list. Feel free to DM on Instagram if there's anything specific you want to ask about.
I was wondering where the next hero would come from and I was surprise that it was an Uleki. But the MMC Zaid proved himself worthy to be the hero of the story. There was a lot of action and adventure for our MCs, and the reader is held captive by their capture. Is this the end for our MCs? It cannot be the end, they deserved a happy ending of their own. So I held my breath and read on and finally I read what I was hoping all along. It's a happy ending for the MCs and for me.
This is one of my favorite books by this author, it was so emotionally impactful! The main characters went through so much and they grew along the way - closer to each other as well as individually. The way their relationship developed was believable, and putting the book down was impossible. The world building was solid too, taking the reader deeper into this barbarian world. I can't wait to visit it again in Book 3!
Weird that the tribe that captured a group of human women are keeping them together locked in a hut. Perhaps the warriors are afraid of them escaping. Abigail is cut out of the group to be taken to another tribe for the hard rock they use as spear points and arrow heads. Zaid eventually renounces his former tribe.
Zaid and Abigail both have low self esteem. Both have issues with belonging. It seemed so perfect that they both had their flaws but they didn't see them in each other. Yes, the story was sexy and hot. It had a lot of action as well. However, I truly liked these characters.
This was an exciting adventure where our fmc has been taken by some aliens who intend to sell her to an even worse group. I enjoyed the female lead but boy did I want to kick some sense into the mmc a few times. A fun read with lots of steam
She's been Kidnaped, He's always trying to prove his worth.
This story is about the journey of two souls and how they find each other. I was unsure as to where this book was going however I found the story intriguing. I am looking forward to the next book. Thanks Presley another great book.
I had to push myself through Alien Hunter’s Captive. There is just too much angst, lack of confidence, doubt from both the hero and heroine. It was frustrating to read.
This book was awesome. It was about an individual that suffered traumatic trauma from his past like some of does. The way he went through it was amazing. There was a lot of action, drama, passionate scenes, and some compassion as well. Excellent reading.
Sweet story. Kidnapped by aliens Nicole is eventually saved by Harax. They can't communicate but he knows she's his forever and learns to trust him and fall i love. Bumpy road but worth it.
Pay attention to the trigger warning..having said that OMG is this book good! Abigail and Zaid are an awesome couple. I won't say much because I don't want to spoil anything. I'll only say their journey is epic and I can't wait for the rest of this series! Presley Hall writes such amazing characters, they are warm and full of life. The world building is impeccable and the story is well crafted. I fully enjoyed this book and freely recommend it!
Abigail is one of several women kidnapped from Earth. Now the alien tribe that has her is trading her to a brutal tribe with no females. Zaid is one of the group taking Abigail to her new tribe. When he realizes that Abigail is his fated mate he will do whatever it takes to save her. Good action packed, steamy romance.
This is the best Presley Hall has ever written! Zaid and Abigail experiences leave you wanting more…you’re sorry the book comes to an end. The Uleki tribe is evolving but the earth women being held captive are in danger. They are being traded to the Jakk tribe…and the Jakk tribe practices cannibalism! It’s a nonstop action filled read. Excellent! ❤️❤️❤️
