Book 5 in this cute, funny, mysterious paranormal adventure.

Rather silly
But still not funny... if you run it all together, it's obvious it's too much and overdone...
Spoiler Alert
mummified desicated bodies keep appearing... two in the restaurant and then Catelyn's parents. Catelyn blames Leana and is sent off to live with the werewolves after attacking Leana. Shay's new school has a dodgy teacher who puts a death curse on her. It turns out it's the sorceress we met before, and they are responsible for sucking the life out of the victims to make themselves younger the coven of sorceress refuse to help remove the curse because they are stuck up, obviously couldn't come up with anything better here so snobbery it is, Matiel can't be found because he could cure his daughter but hes been awol despite promising weekly visits but there's also a vampire on the council who wants Shay's power and so Leana, Valen and Shay also end up with the werewolves. The werewolves have a friendly vampire who uses mind control and tries to teach Shay to resist but goes overboard, and Leana attacks him because he triggers Shay's curse again. He puts Leana into a deep sleep, and while she's asleep, he gets himself murdered, Catelyn lies that she witnessed Leana murder vampire for revenge over the parents Leana didn't kill. Catelyn sets it up so she can fight to the death with Leana, doesn't win and Leana refuses to kill her so Leana is exhausted when the vampires, who killed the training vampire, attack the pack and yet she still beats lots of them but they take Shay and she needs to be rescued immediately. So they head back to NY, meet up with the hotel gang, and wearing headbands like it's the 80's assault the vampire house, and once again, Leana beats them while running on empty, gets the Chief vampires blood cures Shay and throws a party. Where her father finally appears and says he's been awol because the legion of angels is after Leana, not Shay, the end.
There's too much going on here... it's becoming a mish mash, and the limitations of Leana's power seem to have miraculously vanished in all this... we started with people calling her a dud because in daylight, she has no power, but now she's drawing it any old time of day... it's also noticeable that the vampires always want to stop and gloat about their power when they have her pinned down ready to kill.. all rather scooby doo... very little mention of merlin and no mention of Basil and her job at the hotel

FEAR AND TENSION
There is much fear and tension as Starlight witch Leana worries about how to go about saving her sister from a death curse and the clutches of the vampiress. Her own life has so far been anything but simple and now it has become more complicated with this new quandary.
Luckily for her, she has the support of love interest Valen and her dedicated paranormal friends at the New York Twilight hotel. Together, they set out to face the challenge, overcoming several obstacles along the way.
Book 5 is another action packed thriller filled with conflict and suspense; passion and intensity.
Through the author’s fascinating word imagery and humour, we are once again thoroughly entertained and transported to an intriguing world of witch magic, mystery and excitement. As always, we are left with a mega surprise at the very end.

en este libro podría perfectamente haber sido el final de la saga de las brujas de nueva york. richardson cambia por completo el escenario. rescata a viejos personajes e introduce unos cuantos nuevos, así como un giro de guión bastante interesante, que engancha a la lectora hasta el mismo final del libro. de alguna forma, mezcla todos sus argumentos para complicarle (aún más) la vida a leana, quien tendrá que luchar con varios frentes abiertos a la vez. es un texto ligero, bonito y brillante, en el que el mayor triunfo de la autora es saber transmitir a la perfección todo cuanto siente su personaje. la rabia, la ira, la vergüenza, el miedo o la determinación de su protagonista nos guían a través de una novela compleja, escrita en clave sencilla y con un final algo impredecible (yo tenía mis dudas de que fuese a acabar como lo hizo). bastante sorprendente. muy recomendable.

Very good book. Continues the story of the Witches of New York (Leanna and her sister Shay. Shay is a starlight witch but her star is the sun. She's very powerful but only a child at 11 years old. Shay has been cursed with a "death curse" and there is no known cure. Additionally, a very powerful vampiresse has her eyes on Shay. Leanna is also a starlight witch and gets her power from the stars, so she's powerful at night and not so much in the daytime. Leanna is looking for a cure for Shay and the vamps are after Shay.

This is one of my favorite series from this author. The characters are quirky and there is just something about Valen that I love. And the storyline is amazing.
I started this book and finished it in a couple of hours. I couldn’t put it down and kept saying “just one more chapter “. But it kept me hooked until the end. Just when you think things might settle down, the twist at the end makes it a necessity for the next book.

I don't know if it is the audiobook reader or the writing itself, but the wording is repetitive with minimal description to the scenes. At this point I feel like I am just reading because I've gotten this far in the series. I also started to dislike the main character even more throughout the book. She's turned into a self-important lady who doesn't think twice about her actions that end up putting her and everyone else in more danger.

Intense
So much edge of your seat, nail biting, what is going to happen next in this one! I can't believe what Leana went through and how she and her family of friends managed to save the day and find a cure for Shay. But there's always a catch and this time it looks like its Leana. Can't wait for the next book!

Meeting the pack
Book five follows on the storyline, this book moves away from the hotel (4hours away) but some is in the hotel. We meet the alpha wolf who's pack is not just wolves. I did feel there was a lot of forgiveness and that's not bad but it was fast a little to fast when it means harm to you.

what a roller coaster feels like. Old enemies co.e back. New enemies abound, and Leanne and her Giant are an item. Shay cured and vampires defeated. Even the good. Lots of fighting and mayhem

Another fantastic addition to this series that I just love. It continues to be action packed, suspenseful, funny, emotional and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. The imagery and world building is outstanding and I just love all of the characters.

Witches of New York, book 5
Leana definitely has her hands full. Custody of her little sister and her literal giant of a boyfriend. The 13th floor gang never has a boring moment. This series is full of adventure, laughter, angst, and danger. I recommend this series!

Shades of witches by Kim Richardson. Her sister is cursed, and she is trying to save her. The whole story arc of running away to the werewolves i think rally want necessary but then there was defeating the big bad in this book was kind of anti climatic

When a death curse threatens Shay and their father can't be reached, Leana and her friends must try too find a cure. I love that they all have different skills but complement each other wonderfully.
