I am happy to have had the opportunity to grab this one, as I enjoy the creativity of this author.

Nadia and Alex have a long and complicated history, and there are many lies between them.

This story started slowly for me, and a few things bugged me about the storyline, (and the HEA ending wasn't what I expected), but overall it was a good read. It was easy to read and enjoy.

The chemistry and steamy scenes between these two characters is easy to connect with, and I am glad I grabbed this free ARC from Booksprout.

Scandalous Pledge is book three in Murphy's Mafia Made Man series. It's a full-length standalone novel with no cheating or cliffhanger and complete with satisfying HEA. A brilliantly written story with extraordinary characters and great storyline that captures your attention from the start and keeps you hooked and on the edge of your seat with it's non-stop mystery and suspense. It has all the thrills and heat overload with heat. Alex Murphy is a made man and heir to the Irish mob. His dad, the Don controls all aspects of his life, even who he loves. Alex and Nadia has been friends since they were children and he has always loved her. But because of her stable in life, his dad did not feel like she was good enough for the future mafia king. Nadia was the daughter of the maid for the Murphy's household. Nadia has loved Alex from as long as she can remember and thought he felt the same way too until he up and leave.
Alex has watched and protected Nadia from the shadows for nine years and even secretly dictate her every move so that he would have her for himself. Now that his dad died and he is now the Don he's free to go after the woman who he has loved all his life. Nadia has lived in the house but doesn't know the inner workings of the Murphy family. Nadia has a love hate feeling for Alex after her pushed her away ten years ago. Nadia now works for Alex as his personal assistant and is trying to get another job. She as applied several jobs but no one calls back. This is because Alex has sabotage every one of them. He doesn't want her leave and will do anything to keep her near him. If he was a good man he would let her go but who said he was good man.
Alex is one of four the Kings in areas and as such he always has adversities will always rise up and tries to take his throne from him. There's so much things going in the Murphy's family that Alex and his brothers have to figure out, plus who murdered their dad. Nadia is in the dark with everything, then one day she went home and found her mother assaulted only for Alex to whisk her away for her safety to his home. This book is filled with violence, danger, lies, secrets, deception, revelations, murder, hurt, pain, loss, enemies, suspense, drama, family loyalties, grief, rivals, alliances, betrayal, arranged marriage, forced proximity, stalking, friends-to-lovers, steam, passion, hate-to-love, twists and turns, anger, bloodshed, carnage, mystery, manipulations, surprises, mole, spice, love and so much more. Alex was dominant, possessive, and harsh. Nadia was sassy, defiant, and fierce. Once she got over being mad at him their chemistry was explosive and sizzles. Alex tells his brothers that she was going to be his wife after the break-in in her house and mother was beaten.

4.5 stars! Well....I was not expecting this.....

Scandalous Pledge is the third installment in the Murphy's Mafia Made Men and technically can be read as a standalone, but as a part of a Series of interconnected standalones, you'll miss on the plot not having read the two previous books.

This is the tale of Alex, the older Murphy brother and Nadia, the daughter of a retired chef of staff, part of the Murphy life since childhood and Alex's direct employee.
Although part of the household, we don't have much recognition of Nadia from the two first books. Alex Murphy was always a very reserved and 'harsh' man and we get to understand exactly why.

This is a story of revelations wrapped in conflicts between everyone and everybody. Those of the family, loyalties, alliances, friends and foes, secret agendas and greater good as well the internal turmoil of the forbidden, the choice and the coercion.

Yes, Alex might seem the most inflexible of them all, but he acts with reason and heart and the knowledge of the past.
IMO, hs's definitively the star of the book and he loved furious and fircely. Nadia was inicially reluctant, understandably, but ever her being knew Alex was always the man for her.

As Vi got us used to, the future is a mystery, I don't know if it is a turning point or a reinforcement or even an adjustement of the powers that remain, but the enemy is real and well supported.
What I know for sure, I can't wait for William's account!

I just had to finish this one?!

Alex has always loved Nadia, since childhood but his father opposed it.

Nadia has always loved Alex and doesn’t know what happened? She works for Alex but hates it, her mother is ill and Nadia needs to take care of her. Nadia’s mother worked for the Murphy family until she became sick.

Nadia is desperately trying to find another job but to no avail. She is unaware that Alex is behind her failures.

Nadia finds her mother unconscious after going on a date, who doesn’t show. It was an apparent break-in but nothing was taken? Nadia discovers how bad her mother’s health is while in the hospital.

Alex promises to take care of everything but Nadia will marry him. Nadia accepts but soon finds out, the secrets, lies and will she accept the life that Alex lives?
Can they find happiness? Will the brothers accept the secret Alex tells them and forgive? There is a HEA, but some questions are left unanswered?

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "SCANDALOUS PLEDGE" I love nothing more than an intense, intriguing, thrilling, riviting, action steamy hot Mafia Romance with twysts that has you turning the pages till finished.
Alex Murphy & Nadia have loved each other since they were children but his father told him she wasn't fit for a Mafia King being the maids daughter, but now he's dead Alex is free to choose who he wants.
Nadia loved Alex her whole life until he pushed her away that changed everything for her now he claims he wants her to be his wife but he's hiding secrets that could destroy everything.
I definitely recommend to get this interesting entertaining amazing well written story will Alex & Nadia finally have the future they want or will his secrets destroy the both its a must read for sure.

Wow- Alex & Nadia Perfection

This book is filled with surprises and unexpected events that will leave you with your jaw dropping!! Alex has been leading the West since his father’s death but he has a dark secret that could destroy everyone and everything in their world. Nadia has loved Alex since they were kids and her mother worked in their household. Nadia never really knew the exact undertakings of the Murphy men but now she is getting fully exposed and she’s not sure she can handle all the information being placed in front of her. Alex will do anything for Nadia to agree to be his but will she ever be able to accept him? This is an intense and emotional rollercoaster ride throughout all the twists and turns. You will not be disappointed. However, there were also many unanswered questions so I can’t wait for the next installment of this series. Happy Reading!!!

Nadia has been in love with Alex for most of her life, she just hates that she is after the way he has treated her. She doesn’t know there are reasons for the way he has been. Alex has been keeping a huge secret from everyone. He is also now making his move on Nadia. She has always been his, she just didn’t know it was him ruining all of her plans. He does a terrible job letting her know he cares about her, but they have great chemistry. There is so much “family” and family stuff going on around them, it’s hard to see who them enemies are. For a lot of the book, Nadia is pretty isolated. Her one friend ends up being an issue. I did like where she kind of broke towards the end and that ended up being the catalyst for a lot of changes.

Though this is a standalone, there are cameos and story threads interwoven through it from other books in the story arc. While you don't necessarily have to read those prior books before reading this one, the knowledge from those other stories helps to understand parts of this.

That being said, you will definitely get your money's worth of the dark and gritty alpha men here, along with the woman that rule in their shadows. It's a dog eatt, dog world and its going to take a true B1tch to this man's world. Don't expect a weak woman looking to be saved, but you will find a woman that let's her man save her (after he fights for the right too, that is). Be ready for some hard love and even harder truths.

Scandalous Pledge is book 3 of Murphy's Mafia of Made Men series by Vi Carter. This is Alex Murphy's story. We know him from earlier books as the eldest son who is now in the head of the group. He isn't interested in anyone but Nadia. Knowing her from childhood, he has loved her but he was forbidden being with her by his father, after all Alex is the future ruler and he needs to marry well. The maid's daughter is not marrying well. With his father is now dead and Nadia in danger he decides she will be his wife.

Nadia has a love for Alex buried deep. She was hurt when he walked away from their childhood friendship. They both have secrets that can be their undoing. The mysteries and secrets of both of them drive the action. Alex's slow seduction of Nadia is fun and s€xy to read.

The other brothers all have things going on while the try to figure out who killed their father and was the killer someone in their circle. The plot drew me in and kept me turning the pages. While this book is part of a series, you don't necessarily have to have read the first two books but it definitely will help explain the ongoing thread about the father and family lineage. We know Alex as the stiff older brother, all business. It is fun to watch Nada loosen him up. I loved this addition to the series.

This is exactly what I love in my mafia romances- intense, steamy and lots of mayhem. Alex and Nadia have both always longed for the other, but have a difficult past. When the story opens Nadia is working as Alex's PA, but is desperate to find another job and get away from the man she thinks left her behind. Alex meanwhile has been doing everything he can to thwart her attempts to find another job or to date. When he believes she is in danger, he finally makes his move and everything changes.

Scandalous Pledge has a lot of scheming going on behind the scenes as Alex and his brothers are working to keep others from trying to horn in on their territory and to also deal with all the secrets and complications amongst themselves. This was a great story with lots of intrigue and steamy scenes. I loved the chemistry between Nadia and Alex.

I'm enjoying this series and have been looking forward to this third book in this Mafia Series where each can be read as a standalone. Alex has wanted Nadia forever but knew his father would not allow it because her mother was a maid.

Alex decided to bide his time until the time was right he waited and watched her from a distance, always controlling Nadia's life. But now his father is dead and the time has come to carry through on his plans to marry her.

But will he be able to convince Nadia to marry him? Will she forgive him for his previous treatment of her? Their story is fast-paced, choc full of suspense and drama, as well as sizzling chemistry.

This is the third book in this incredible series, and this is Alex and Nadia’s journey. Alex has loved Nadia since childhood, but she is the maid’s daughter and not suitable for a mafia king. Alex has been watching Nadia from a distance and protecting her for years, and with his fathers death, he is free to claim her. This is a well written story which has family, friendships, undeniable chemistry, secrets, twists, suspense, mystery, action packed, emotions, and is an intriguing and steamy addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Another compelling page turner from this remarkable author...
I won't detail the story but it will keep you on the edge of your seat as you experience so many conflicting emotions. The main characters had loved each other for a long time but would she still love him when he reveals what he's done? His brothers are conflicted at his reveal but he hands over the reins & he & his woman move to his beautiful home in Spain for their deserved hea. This is the 3rd book in this mafia series and can be read as a standalone. Alex has only ever wanted Nadia but as she is just the daughter of a maid his father wouldn’t allow it. Alex, watched and waited, controlling Nadia from afar but now that his father is dead and she is in danger he plans to marry her. Nadia was hurt by how Alex had previously treated her but will she marry him? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, suspense and sizzling chemistry. Great characters, great world building and sizzling scenes. I liked it.

As a huge fan of Vis Mafia books, I was excited to read her latest book. And as usual, she didn't disappoint. Taking us into her Murphy mafia world again, she didn't disappoint. Nadia has secrets, and Alex has secrets. When their world collides again, Alex is determined to make Nadia his, but Nadia keeps him at arm's length...
Vi wrote the tension beautifully, making me read it in one day to see what would happen. As the secrets came out and the plot turns happened, I loved it. Thanks, Vi.

I absolutely love reading Vi Carter. The book and its characters are always intense and really well written.
Nadia and Alex have incredible chemistry, but were unable to act on their feelings until Alex's father is gone. This book is filled with intrigue and steamy scenes. And really entertaining, which is why I felt compelled to read it in one sitting. This is book three in Murphy's Made Men series.

I could not put this book down until the unexpected ending!
I was pulled in from the first chapter to Alex’s determination to keep Nadia while he deals with the fallout of his father’s death and the mafia clashes around him. While working with his brothers and cousin to try and figure out the leak and his father’s murderer, things heat up for Alex and Nadia. Can Alex leave it all on the line for Nadia and their future? You have to read to find out!

Alex and Nadia’s story is not a easy one this baby is filled to the brim with secrets, lies, betrayal, broken heart just all the freaking emotions and feels. These two have been meant for one another since they were kids but they came from two different worlds a Mafia King and the helps daughter is not an ideal Queen in the mafia world when Alex broken Nadia’s heart he broke mine too I was seriously in pieces and the once beautiful friendship and love these two had for one another turned bitter very quickly. But when Alex made up his mind to make Nadia his wife there was nothing and no one that was going to stop him and I was here for it. Their journey is not easy but I was strapped in for the wild and crazy ride. I have loved every book in this series but I would have to say Alex is by far my favorite. Amazing read!

Trope/theme: childhood lovers who abruptly broke up without explanation which led to resentment, excessive “no one else can have her” in the romance novel way but wouldn’t be appropriate IRL, “I hate you but I want you”

The mystery of the death of the brothers’ father is mentioned in chapter 2 and I was like “girl what?!” There is also a lot of background that gets uncovered.

So I didn’t see that coming !!!! Alex Murphy I have wondered why you are so jaded, Jason and Aiden have softer sides but not you. You love your brothers unconditionally that’s clear even when Jason was revealed as your cousin not brother you didn’t feel any differently towards him, you supported William through his issues and you’re protective of Matty.
I truly believe you love Nadia but seriously man, that wasn’t the way to go about it. You got it right in the end and made a huge sacrifice for love. I respect you for that decision and your family loyalty but I still don’t like you x

Alex had created a problem when he murdered his father, but how else could he get Nadia where he wanted her, by his side forever and when fate gave a helping hand he was delighted. I will never tire of these Irish mafia guys, their women are queens, strong and ready to fight with or for their men. Vi Carter you hooked me again🥰 I voluntarily reviewed this book.

Good read

Fast pace enjoyable read. True to mafia characters always so many secrets. Easy to get involved in each character. Like fact that they showed love between them with over doing sex. Fill it events that a mafia family deals with.

It was good.

I liked this book, but I gave it 4 ⭐ because I felt like I were missing parts of the story. All the books are connected, so read in order. The H just felt a little disconnected, I didn't know if I was coming or going.
