wow!!

This was a very deep read! This book grabbed and held my attention from beginning to end! My heart goes out to Nia and all the Nia’s of the world! This story was so real it makes me wonder if it was a true story! The ending makes me feel as if there is more to this story but I’m not sure! I highly recommend if a really deep read is what you’re looking for!

Wow! This is what happens when families keep secrets! I still believe Nia should seek therapy! Sad but good read.

It Happens

I felt every emotion Nia suffered even though I've never been in her shoes. This is a testament to the author's writing skill. The hurt was heartfelt and palpable. The fact that a family put their name and reputation above the health and sanity of it's own members was deplorable. And the women that helped keep these secrets - just shameful. Pushing God, religious sayings over Nia's hurt was a contradiction of the faith they supposedly possessed. I would like to believe there was healing for Nia; I don't know how, but please - for all the Nia's everywhere who have suffered and need peace.
This was my first read by this author and I can't wait to delve into more of her work. Great writing. Highly recommended. WARNING: Triggers

Spoiler Alert!

Such a true life story. I felt every emotion Nia felt. I wonder how many families cover up secrets like this.
