They say lightning doesn’t strike the same place twice. They are damn liars because I’m losing count of the impossibilities in my life.

It turns out my presence in The Buried Knolls could mean the death of everyone around me. If the cold reactions of Wild and the quad are anything to go by, then the coven can never discover what I am.

Even though I’ve uncovered the demon king’s sinister plans and the truth about the supernatural game this coven plays, I must leave the knolls. Bizarrely, the place I came to for answers has become home. Hope. Community. I nearly fell in love here. Now the mating ritual with Wild feels like another excellent reason to leave.

Yet when so many impossible things have already happened, I have to wonder about the size of the storm ahead... and whether lightning will strike for a third time.

If you can’t get enough of books by Elise Kova, Raven Kennedy, and Leia Stone, or the paranormal romance genre, then enter this supernatural game where the prize is love, friendship, and survival, and failure means death.

I came on here just to check I wasn't going mad and that I'm not the only one disappointed by this latest installment. I really can't understand all the good reviews...am I reading the same book? This can't honestly be written by the same author of the 2 previous supernatural battle series. I have tried my best to keep reading but the 2 main characters are unlikeable. Not sure what the problem is but it almost feels like it's been written by a teenager that is trying to write a strong independent women and a brooding misunderstood H but has only succeeded in creating a self centered, narcissistic female with no likeable qualities. It's her way or the highway and the H started out ok but just falls flat with no believable reason for why he suddenly treats the h like crap. The side characters are more interesting. I started to think I'd missed a book out. Very disappointed 👎

I don't know how Kelly manages to just knock book after book and series after series in this world out I'd the park, but she does!

The first series focused on the vampires is one of my favourite series I have read in recent years and, after this book, I'm wondering if this series might top that.

The sheer magnitude of the journey that the characters went on from where we were at the start, to where they were at the end, is astonishing and that ending was bloody perfection.

Tempest is at rock bottom at the start of the book, thinking Wild has turned his back on her, and plans to leave the coven she was just beginning to see as home. Needless to say Wild pulls his head out of his ass and her plan to leave doesn't quite work out how she was expecting. Throw in a lot of character development, action and demon fighting and you are just swept away until the spectacular ending.

I highly, highly recommend all of the books in this world!

My thoughts are about all three books. And I will copy the same text to the other two books too.

This is the third series in the Supernatural Battle World. I'm starting with ranking the series, how I liked them:
Vampire Towers and Coven Caves are my favorites.
The Werewolf Dens were not as good as these two in my opinion.

What I really liked about this series:
Finally all series come together and we see that there is a bigger picture.
We meet all the mated pairs from the other books: Basilia and Kyros, Andi and Sascha.
All the pairs feel drawn to each other.

Finally we also get to know the background of the games. And they kind of make more sense. But I wonder if all people playing the games, never saw the change in their society.

I liked that Tempest was a strong heroin, but sometimes she was too strong and wouldn't talk about her plans. Also she had emotional baggage and found a big secret about her heritage. And didn't trust her coven enough to share it earlier.

Wild is one wild guy. He has trouble with the things happening to him and Tempest. One minute he is hot the next he is very cold. He and his friends were kind of outsiders who formed a group and are now the guys who everyone wants to be friends with. And they help him in any situation and they have each others back. At some point Wild's friends ignore Tempest, because Wild says so. There brotherhood is above anything else.

I liked Tempests cousin. I'm annoyed how manipulative several non coven members and also some coven members were. I didn't like it.

I'm just writing my thoughts down and feel like I can't explain too much, otherwise I will spoil too much.

I enjoyed listening and reading this series.

I'm 37% in and have been waiting for it to get interesting but it's been a drag, I can't connect to the MCs or the plot:

So, FMC Mary Sue finds Sir Needy McMopes-a-lot-and-lashes-out unattractive personality-wise, but attractive physically. Apparently, Mary Sue's love language is coercive mating rituals and being hounded by the MMC and his pals, I mean who doesn't love a clingalot and tantrums in a partner? Anyways, their love has been designed by a goddess to save the world in some very unclear way, so she needs to suck it up, buttercup.

Meanwhile, demons are going to take over the world as they've discovered the Achilles heel of supes - the live-action board game! Ironic, as I was totally planning on challenging zombies in the zombie apocalypse to a robust game of Monopoly. As an added bonus the board games give the demons power, just because. Interestingly, the demons seemed to take some long service leave en masse between Mary Sue's birth and her arrival at the coven, but they are back now and maybe moving closer than ever, only Mary Sue's quipu knows for sure.

Argh! Wtf!
A KSC book with a 2 * rating.... Noooooooooooooo.
Dammit..I've been waiting for this next installment for months.
Good gods though this main protagonist is becoming insufferable. I feel like she has confidently taken on the mantel of the axis all the other characters HAVE to orbit around. Everything she thinks and says is gospel.. she IS the self appointed moral compass.
Self righteous. Far too emotionally aware. They all are. Where are their flaws? The delightful shades and shadows that make us all real?
Where is the humour? The joy in the book? The Zest?
Eeeeeeeee Gods. DNF at 77%.
77%!!!! Who gives up reading a book they have been waiting for months for at 77%? A disappointed reader. That's who.
How is this a KSC book? I just don't get it.

I read the comments on this book before reading it because I just forgot about book 1 besides the feeling I loved it.
Now that was a mistake, the comments made me think it would be a disappointment. Why do I do that! I should know by now, not to judge a book by its comments, shouldn't I!
Luckily, I did read the book because I loved it!
I love Tempest, her edge, her love, strength, dark humour, and her calm centre. How she does the best she can by looking inside the box, at all corners, as well as around and way outside the box. She has lost so much, and it shows in her fears. As a witch and she was taught and practiced ways of her people, she stood out in the coven that had lost their way, and she managed to keep finding her way as long as helping the coven centre itself. Now that's a tall order for anyone, let alone a woman who finds out she's not who she thought she was. She is then shunned by the guy she's falling for and is made to feel like the worst of people.

This book gets dark as we learn more about Wild, Sven, Constantine, and Huxley. It helps us understand them more, although it doesn't excuse their behaviour. But I love watching the relationship navigate the wrongs and how they rebuild it all. I love the banter the group, including Rox, have with each other. The character building is super, and even though you may find the MMCs are arseholes, they are your arseholes. And soon, they grow in themselves to become less buttholes and more family.

Now the smut! 🔥 🥵 hot and spicy. You get lots of build and play and one full scene. And I think the formula was enough for this book. Too soon, and it would have ruined the flow, too late, and it would be an add-on. I'm looking forward to more in other books now 😏😉.

The world build is also strong, and I find myself invested in it all, as characters from other books are mentioned, and you can see how their lives are building to intertwine. And I can't wait! I think I will need to reread the other series when that time comes.

My only negative is that I felt the book jump scenes, and they may not have been needed, but the link from one thing to another had me wondering if I missed a chapter or something. But in all, I was delighted with the book and can't wait to see what happens next for our new leaders of the Wolves/tribe, Vampire's, and now Coven.

Ladies,

If a man becomes hostile and is openly cruel to you during a stressful event, dump him. And don't let him return. The vile misogyny of the story caused me to not finish it. Her man is disgusting towards her, blatantly cruel and shaming, and she lets him touch and fondle her even while still angry at him. He grovels for forgiveness, like all abusive men who work to diminish their partners sense of self worth when the abuser is stressed or disappointed. Unacceptable. Don't ever let anyone treat you like that. Walk them to the curb, like she should have done here.

the pacing was off

I love this author and I have read almost everything by her. She is seriously underrated. Have you read her “tainted accord” series? One of the best royal fantasy series I have ever read.

However, this book suffered from second book syndrome and it was a struggle to finish. Book one was so interesting and I’m hoping book three will have a strong finish.

I really enjoyed the first book. This one was a bit.. ehh there’s something annoying about a Mary sue being all
Powerful with no real thought or effort, miraculously solving a 300 year old game after observing for like a day… solving everyone’s problems and issues just cause she’s that cool. Like of course she had 4 powers, of course she’s the ruler, of course she’s a next generation evolved power… BORING!! Maybe the team coulda worked together and been amazing.. that would have been cool.

It kills me to write this review as I have loved every book I have ever picked up from Kelly St Clare with the exception of this one. For some reason, I'm not really loving the characters. My brain pretty much glazes over regarding the coven game as I have a hard time mentally visualizing it. I will say the story is interesting but I don't really feel absorbed by the book. I have read all the other Supernatural Battle books and loved them but this one just wasn't grabbing me. I will still read the 3rd one as I am a die hard Kelly St Clare fan. I would say it would rank at about 3.5 stars for me.

Cussing profusely does not make you a bad ass MC. You actually have to do something. The first book in the series was not great but enough to intrigue me to read the second one. This book had no story/plot, no characters development, and no fun. Just cringy s!x scènes one after the other. I am giving up on this series. Tainted accords is one of my favorite fantasy. I own it in audible too and listen to it often. This book cannot be by the same author.

Since I read all 9! books to this Supernatural Battle series within a week while working full-time there is no point in reviewing them separately. I will instead review each of the three interconnected series.

Before starting this third installation in the Supernatural Battle series I was not sure what to expect. I’ve read a good share of vampire and werwolf stories but witches/magus only played a minor role in the books I’ve read. So in a twist nobody - including myself - saw coming the Coven Caves was my favorite series of the three. I was GRIPPED!

The series deals with Tempest who is a witch who’s returning to the Coven her mother and grandmother left before she was born and warned her to never return to. But the murder of them and her twin sister leave her desperate to trace back a sudden new connection she feels.

The world-building and especially the four kinds of magic that magus can be gifted with were fascinating! I loved that Mother as in Mother Nature was a very central theme. The created atmosphere felt spiritual and deeply grounded.
Tempest as our heroine needed that spirituality more than the prior two heroines because while all of them had to suffer through a lot of pain, Tempest was dealt the hardest card I would say. I really liked her as a character because while being smart and confident in her values she also showed a lot of vulnerability.
Wild as the MMC felt also more complex than the others before. While they were so obviously and dramatically an Alpha, Wild felt more unsure of his place in the world. Was he an arrogant ass at times? You betcha but what’s a great love story without some banter?
In Coven Caves the central theme was community and that was also cemented through the thorough characterization of the side characters. Each got a deserving back story and room to grow. Which made the story as a whole feel more well-rounded. I LOVED the little moments where the magus were confronted with human inventions and how the tried to explain that “magic”. Truly hilarious.
Now to the biggest problem with the series: the pacing. While the first book was very well-paced and I simply flew through it. The second and third really dragged at times. I think the author tried to counter the dragging parts by adding more sex scenes but at some point it just didn’t add anything to the plot or the relationship of Tempest and Wild which isn’t my preference personally. I think a major problem was that Wild’s personality was kind of on the back-burner in the later parts because Tempest’s struggle and Coven politics were pushed to the forefront and Wild’s job was reduced to soothing and reassuring. But the last big fight and the twist at the end had me literally gasping so I can’t give it anything less than five stars.

What a banger this was! We finally understand how all of those games are interconnected and I cannot wait for the last installment to drop. Why is this not viral on BookTok? The covers, it’s the covers.
Kelly St. Clare if you happen to read this: thank you for giving us such a great world to dream about. I will recommend it to everyone! Is the nature inspired by NZ? If so I want to visit.

Emotional & Magical Chaos Paired with High-stakes Action Yields Plot & Character Evolution

Once again, Kelly St. Clare has managed to pull me into one of her books and steal away my day in the best of ways. Chaos Pact was a fantastic, tumultuous, thrill ride. I particularly enjoyed that it not only advanced the Coven Caves storyline, but it also gave us some huge pieces to the overall Supernatural Battle Universe. With great pacing and a good balance of action and emotion, the characters are all pushed forward. Author St. Clare is particularly talented at creating an inclusive and varied cast of individuals, developing each in their time, and providing readers with more than just one person with whom they can relate.

As much as I liked Chaos Pact, I did take one star from my rating. My first reason was that I really struggled with Wild, the male love interest. His character is clearly evolving, but he’s not a great guy getting there, and he puts our heroine through the ringer. If Tempest were my friend, I would have told her to drop him, and she does try. He has a semi-redemptive arc, but I wanted more. As in First Ritual (book 1) there is a level of magical force involved in the romance, and though all participating parties are willing, their youth and miscommunication leads to a lot of emotional turmoil. Secondly, I had a couple moments where I had to stop and reread a sentence or two before clearly understanding what was being said. It may just be style, but it occurred enough times for me to notice.

Overall, this is another great entry into the Supernatural Battles World.

The Highlights:

👑Length: Novel

🌻Genre: Urban fantasy/paranormal romance – witches, demons, shifters, vampires etc.

👑POV: First person, female main character

🌻Age: Adult

👑Warnings: Language; sexual content; violence; mentions of past and ongoing mental/physical abuse; hot/cold, obsessive, alpha male

🌻Spice: Descriptive on page content. This couple has some communication issues that lead to a lot of emotional confusion surrounding their encounters. Their together time includes experimentation, pain/pleasure play, and some roughness. Everything is consensual.

👑Violence: Battle-focused action

🌻Editing: No major complaints. I found some phrasing to be different, and had to reread a few sentences, but that could easily be a style choice. It was not wrong.

👑World: Supernatural Battle Earth (There are 2 complete, previous series in this universe)

🌻Series: Supernatural Battle: Coven Caves – Book 2

👑Tropes: Tragic backstory, found family, unique character, magical bonds, grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, courting/mating ritual, alpha male, miscommunication

🌻Ending: I need more! The immediate story resolves, but the overall storyline is not complete – so there is a hook for more.

👑Re-read? Yes!

I love the characters in that I know they aren't strictly "human." Had this been a book about humans in a communal situation, I don't think I could stomach the way some of them treat each other, especially since this seems to be a rather misogynistic world, as it is with the other areas within this world, proven by the books that precede this one. However, with the peek that we get into this compound, we understand from the beginning that there are forces working here that will turn all of the characters on their ear.

Tempest is a fitting name for the heroine because that's exactly what she brings when she comes to The Buried Knolls. She brave and bold and balsy, and there aren't a whole lot of things that can upset her. One of them, however, is Wild. She wants to believe Wild is on her side - until he isn't. The way he looks at her and his mixed messages have her as much on edge as anyone else between the Caves matches. She's not the only one with secrets and mysteries in her past, and as she discovers more about herself and the family she came from, others' secrets and mysteries are also exposed. We just don't know what they will mean to the coven or our heroine in the end.

I enjoy a good enemies-to-lovers tale, and this is one of those. As much as we want to believe at the start that Wild is this terrible man in all of this, I don't think he knows what he wants until he finds out on his own. That's one of the great things about a story that comes from only one point of view - we don't know what's going on in the other person's mind until the game changes. The story is intricate and engaging, and we just want to push these people where we think they should be on the board until we're proven wrong. It's exhilarating. And that cliffhanger is everything.

Chaos Pact is the second book in the Coven Caves trilogy from Kelly St. Clare. I was fortunate to grab an advanced copy and I flew through the pages!

Chaos Pact follows Tempest Brontë Corentine- a crazy gifted magus who has learned some deep secrets about herself in the first book. She's locked in a mating ritual with Wild, a hot af and crazy powerful councilman magus that she absolutely can't stand. Wild's squad of friends- Corentin, Huxley, and Sven- collectively called the quad- are making her life inside the coven so difficult. On top of all that, Brontë learned a secret about the competition that divides the coven- called Caves- and she believes her presence is a danger to the coven.
Tempest /Brontë is in character growth mode throughout this book. The mating ritual is pushing her and Wild together despite her objections. The safety of the coven, and perhaps all supernaturals, could be at stake.

Kelly St. Clare's supernatural series that revolve around playing games within the clans are all incredible, and Chaos Pact is no different. KSC writes strong, smart and sexy female leads who are also compassionate and relatable. The beauty of the friendships is the real star of these books. I love watching friends become family, bonds deepens and grow, and the characters pull together despite all odds to overcome the challenges the game is Caves presents. Chaos Pact also has plenty of spiciness for those looking for romance! It's a terrific second book in the series that ends with only a little bit of a hook- not a cliffhanger- that promises the next book in the series will not disappoint. I can't wait for the 3rd and final book from The Coven Caves trilogy!

For the fantastic character growth, world building, and battle scenes, as well as the amazing over-arching story progression,
5 epic ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐.

I don't think Kelly St Clare has written a book that hasn't grabbed me on the first page or refused to let me go until long after the final words have been read. Chaos Pact, second in the Coven Caves Trilogy is no exception. Hang onto your readers, people, you're about to experience Chaos Pact.

Tempest is dead set on leaving the Coven after the revelations in the final chapters of First Ritual; she's convinced that her presence is endangering those she's come to care for. And living with the silent treatment from Wild and the Quad has hurt her more than she'd like to admit. So she makes her way back to Frankton Gorge, with Rooke intow.

That silent treatment I mentioned? When has ignoring a woman ever worked out well for a man? Especially a man in the middle of a mating ritual.

This is a big book, and I don't mean just in length. I mean emotionally for Tempest and Wild. Each harbors emotional scars, and when their growing trust and feelings for one another allows their pain to be revealed, they grow closer, even if it's frightening at times.

That's the thing about Kelly St Clare, she writes emotion so damn good. You'll laugh with the banter between the group of six. Your heart will ache for their pain, their loves. As far as the battle goes, prepare for amazing scenes that frankly blew my mind when I read them. And those demons - they're more than just idle chit chat.

If you've been reading since Vampire Towers (you've been reading since Vampire Towers, right?), you'll see how these games are fitting together, building a possible alliance for whatever the future holds. St. Clare has us all right in the palm of her hand, eager for what comes next.

4.5☆ Keeps getting better

I powered through this book eager to find out what happened next. I liked this book a lot more than book 1 for sure. I always love Kelly's humor in her books it much matches my own.
I loved the growth between Tempest and Wild both together and apart. I'm eager for the last book, especially as I feel our characters from past books will make an appearance.

After finding out her lineage and what her presence in the coven means, Tempest flees in hopes of saving them. But Wild doesn't let her get far, though he hasn't treated her fairly since finding out the truth he won't let her go so easily.
The quad believes that Tempest is needed to end the game of Caves and help with sourcing out the doorways hidden that only she can sense.
All seems much easier in theory. But as Tempest grows stronger and the bond between her and Wild continues to grow and change them, she fears her secret will come to light before she's ready.
The mother seems to be behind all that's happening, but what is she preparing Wild and Tempest for exactly. She fears her presence will only lead the d3mons to their doorstep quicker, but what if her presence is the only thing protecting them.
The Mother knows what she's doing it's whether or not Tempest believes she is worthy or even wants what's coming.

Definitely Recommend Reading 📚

Really, really good. I still have a problem with the games premise, finding it confusing and illogical from start to finish, but everything else in this installment was spot on. And even with my doubts about the games, there was this great games-battle sequence where Tempest just roves through the other team’s stored charms gleefully destroying each one and tossing it to the floor, before detonating a whole pile of them on her rivals. It was funny and ruthless and great fun to follow. I can’t wait for the next book.

My question now is this: we’ve got a Supernatural Battle series for the vampires, another for the werewolves, now one for the witches… Will there be one for the demons? I can see them tying things up here with a battle of a witch-wolf-vamp alliance to drive the demons back to their realm. That could tie things off nicely. But I can also see a demon series where the warmongering comes from just a certain group, and another is fighting against them. We know they’re not all bad, because Tempest’s father wasn’t and Endex (Spyne’s ancestor who wrote those travel journals) was freed from demon imprisonment and torture by another demon. It could be really cool to get a fourth series out of this. Even with the silly games. :)

This started off on a bad note from Wild and his friends shunning her for literallyyy the dumbest reason ever.. still don't think it was justifiable AT ALL LOL I'm glad Temp stood her ground..at first.. but then she eventually just folded 🤡 still ate this up tho 😂 A for entertainment.

-still pretty funny
-Rooke is a real one
-the first half of the romance was juvenile/messy, but it got better for the 2nd half. I guess he did prove his feelings/devotion through his actions.. AFTER all that unnecessary drama 🙄😩
-don't get the chaos part at the end? kinda seemed irrelevant and minuscule when it lasted like 1 paragraph LOL
-when they told her she's the trump card and not to do anything unusual AND SHE EXPOSES EVERYTHING. ABOUT HERSELF... lmaoooo
description
-when his own friends called him out and it was giving the Kardashian meme 😂
People will die, Wild. Get the fuck over yourself.

Chaos Pact didn't disappoint with Tempest and the quad seeking to overcome the past in an effort to save the coven. The ending though did leave me wondering how the final book in the series will wrap everything up.
Fav Quote:
"Huxley inhaled, then exhaled slowly. “You have no appreciation for books and accumulation of knowledge.” “I do. Books can be burned for warmth.” He choked on what sounded like pure horror. Ha. “I do appreciate what books can provide. There’s information and links I couldn’t have made without the library thing. I don’t possess the affinity that enables me to enjoy it. I read lines five times before the words sink in. There are so many other things I’d rather do. I’d even rather do this.” “I look down on you for feeling that way.” I grinned. “I know.”
Star ratings:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - I can't stop daydreaming and telling everyone about this book.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ - A great read with all the feels. I would read again.
⭐⭐⭐ - I liked the book but wouldn't it read again.
⭐⭐ - Usually in the DNF pile or I suffered until the end for whatever reason.
⭐- Just no.

I absolutely LOVED Chaos Pact! I sat glued to my seat throughout and absolutely adored this intense, witty, dangerous, addictive and heartfelt book!

I couldn't put it down. The relationship between Tempest and Wild is simply addictive. And the emotions involved with all the other characters... I kind of want them as my friends. I was again blown away by this amazing characteristics of Tempest, she's so sassy, strong minded and adorable.

This author created a world that keeps you so focused on the story and all the characters in it and there is never a dull moment in the book. So many twists and tuns, with fabulous detail, your mind has no choice but to create whirlwind of flashing images. The book was just very colorful, even the fighting scenes.

Without not knowing how to write this review without spoiling anything, I'll just stop adding this: this book is a complete gamechanger for the series.

Very good!

I can’t quite wrap my mind around how easily one upping herself is to Kelly, but someone each book I pick up is better than the last!

My favorite part of this entire world, not just this series, is how Kelly shows that even if you’re an outcast or go against the norm you will find your people, and when you do you will rule the world…together!

Tempest and Wild’s relationship has me feeling all the feels, the book is hard to put down because you just sitting there hoping the next page will give you what you want for the duo. Of course if you add in the budding relationships of the rest of you crew it’s easy to feel like you’re part of the world yourself. I sit here cheering for Corey next!

This book brings the game of caves to a head that also brings the demons to a “head”. On top of trying to save the coven from a demon battle Tempest and Wild still have to follow the mating ritual as well as navigating control freak parents.
This book is amazing, a must read!

An amazing continuation of Tempest’s story in the Coven Caves trilogy and the Supernatural Battle universe. Lots of changes and growth for many of the characters in this book. Kelly does such a great job relationship building in her books and this series really shines in that department. The depth and nuance of each friendship is always a pleasure to read in her books and I have become so attached to the quad, Tempest and Rooke. The bond between Wild and Tempest has gone through highs and lows but is building to something amazing and the heat between them is off the charts. Caves has been unfolding to be such a thrilling and unique game and I’m amazed at the detail and originality of the games Kelly has created for each trilogy in the universe. I recommend reading the books in this universe in order starting with Vampire Towers to understand the full depth of the grand story coming to a head in this trilogy.

4.5 stars!

In Chaos Pact we hop right into where we left off.

Temperance is hurt but also not just rolling over to the treatment she receives by the quad of charming jerk wads. Like up your with a rubber hose dude!

Temperance and her cousin have a little fun and get away for a bit, and I really enjoyed a few scenes from the bar. I wish there were more!

I’m not going to lie, it took me a bit to get back into the story. And some things felt rushed or thrown in. However, once I was sucked in, I was THERE. My family had “fend for yourself” dinners until I was done.

So much happens in this second installment. Growing relationships, lots of action, revaluation, meeting the parents, gaining a found family. I honestly thought this book was it, and the story would be a duo instead of 3 books. It felt like things were wrapping up but by the end I was pleasantly surprised to find out there will be another.

I’m excited for book 3!

Masterful! ❤✨

Oh my goodness... this was utterly delicious! There was soooo much going on within these magical pages. It was packed with action galore, witty banter, a snarky comment or two along the way 😉, intrigue, family drama, romance, secrets revealed, and one EPIC FMC at the center of everything. Tempest is all her name stands for....she is the eye of the storm indeed- ready to shake things up in the Coven and the status quo. Get ready everyone, things are about to change. All kinds of magical mayhem takes place in this book. Our gal and her crew have their work cut out for them to decipher a way out of everything. My money is on the magical Scooby Gang for the win. Things are REALLY getting exciting as they're all coming into their true potential. Bonds/friendships are growing..."family" is being formed, and I can't wait to see where everything goes in the next book! Definitely two very enthusiastic thumbs up from this reader!!!!!

I can not recommend this series enough.
I’m left stunned at the end of this one too.
It started off cruisy, with us seeing the fallout of the end of book one and some relationship growth between everyone. Tempest and Wild really got to work their issues out, and we got to know more of all the quads backstory and personal struggles. As well as Rooke coming out of her shell more and her relationship with Sven growing. The found family vibes really got going after all the angst.
Then by the second half there was a constant buzz of anticipation as the game got more serious and outside forces started putting more pressure on the group and the coven. The game theory was pretty full on, and I found myself occasionally missing bits because I was too excited and caught up in the story, and wasn’t reading thoroughly enough to follow.
But with a big battle scene at the end and a huge change of the rules, I’m absolutely here for what happens next.
Epic. Well written. Awesomeness.
