Ye screw with this lass, ye get put on yer ass. When the veil between the Fae and Human Realms fell, Merlin peeked into the future to show us how harried things would get. Cue the centrifuge of life spinning us into a scramble of course correcting. The fae who wanted to be seen are being seen—and targeted. The dangerous sects better left in the shadows are angry—and about to revolt. Nothing about the reveal of magic has been good for fae, humans, or the empowered. Best laid plans of fae fools, amirite? With tensions rising and the fate of humanity about to get very messy, Team Trouble fights to navigate the instability of realm secrecy, public opinion, and pissed-off gods. Merlin is the man with the plan. Now all we have to do is make it happen.
About Auburn Tempest Auburn Tempest is a pen name for JL Madore, a multi-genre novelist giving life to Fantasy, Paranormal, and Sci-Fi Romance. Under the pen name, Auburn Tempest, she writes Urban Fantasy without the sexy-steamy. But whether Romance or not, she loves to twist Alpha heroes and kick-ass heroines into chaotic, hilarious, fast-paced, magical situations and make them really work for their happy endings.
She lives outside of Toronto, Canada with her love of over 35 years and a menagerie of family, friends, and animals.
Another unusual episode for Fiona and Team Trouble. It was very interesting with a perfect ending for Cumhaill (Cool) family and friends!
BTW. being from Texas, I just have to comment that Texas Cowboys are NOT "southern cowboys" ... they are TEXANS! The "South" East of Texas as another part of the USA.
This was a decent enough book but at the same time I would say it was good that this series ended with this book.
It was a rather natural end with the veil restored which was quite good. No silly last minutes cliffhangers.
However, the last books have been rambling on and on about mundane family matters in and around the Irish clan. Quite frankly the books have been a bit boring from time to time.
Also, when it has not been family matters it has gone overboard with all kinds of Gods and other overkill powerful supernatural creatures.
It has been too much and I felt like the series has kind of lost some of the elements that made the original series cool and enjoyable in the beginning.
So overall I feel it was good that it ended while the series was still worth reading.
The Clan Cumhaill and friends have all moved to the Hidden City. Now the Fi has finished her mental health break, they are back handling the empowered problems back home. The prana is tainted by the worlds colliding, but Merlin thinks he’s finally figured out how get the veil up, but they need to find 5 things. Also Nikon is missing..
Fi is getting way too flippant and about her job, relationships and the world in general. In the real world she would have been reprimanded a long time ago. I feel badly for Slone. He’s just too calm and understanding to be real and she’s taking advantage of him. I have to admit I’m skimming through a lot of the relationship stuff to get to the story to finish the series.
Though I’m not really good at them, I love riddles. Mazes and puzzles also.
So that’s how the Colossus was destroyed!
Fave scenes: finding the amulet, the riddles, Fi comforting Manxy, Patty & the stones and Themis interrupting Zeus.
A teary-eyed, snot-filled, rip-roaring, nonstop laughter of an ending!!!
Wow, oh wow… WHAT MICHAEL SAD!!!
***Cue multiple standing ovations, followed by shouts of “Encore! Encore!”***
And the audience’s wish was granted.
And, again, what Michael said (seriously, dude, leave something for the rest of us, lol. Translation: Don’t): The deep love and inviolable family bond among these characters is what makes this series so enduringly beloved, and I use that word specifically.
Truly: Jenny, or Auburn, whichever you please, your fluidity with language is like paint on a canvass, and your storytelling and themes are a dovetail fit to those embodied in the rest of LMBPN’s published works. It’s impossible to go wrong.
Fiona and the clan are trying to find everything so they can raise the veil again.
The spiteful gods have interfered again and we are having trouble raising the veil between reims. The friendly gods and Fae and immortals are helping us gather what is needed to raise the veils. This will take their memories of the others, those that are different from the minds of the humans. Give us a chance at fixing things again. Zeus has a few words to add and he gets a piece of my mind. Now its up in the air if my words get us some extra help. If he will rein in his some of his kids against the others. This is the chance you take when your family take in gods as part of your family. Now its time to start the ritual.
22 books on I look forward to more yarns with these characters involved. I hope the Toronto crew are not forgotten especially our favorite 'lion' and his family.
I'm from a large family (3rd of 8) my wife is 1st of 7 and we have raised our own 5 (along with numerous of their peers, who all but lived at our place; some did for up to 6 months at a time) so I love the family connection.
Being of Irish descent; but 4 generations removed from the 'home country'; I've loved learning more of the myths, legends and early history of Ireland.
Keep the stories coming please Auburn and Michael and I'll keep buying them. Thanks for such a fun journey so far.
An amazing adventure of 22 books that I absolutely could not put down. The adventures of the Cumhaill’s is down right awesome and some of the best writing on the book market. The audible versions are outstanding too. I love the characters, the banter, and the love and strength of family that goes beyond the grave. I am telling everyone I know how wonderful these books are and how full of adventure each one is. I am so sorry to see another great inspiration of characters end but I can’t wait to see what great adventures both Michael Anderle and Auburn Tempest come up with. Happy reading book loving, friends you can not go wrong with this series. Safe home.
Auburn Tempest and Michael Anderle, have created a brilliant series with Fiona, her clan/family, adopted family members and friends. This book certainly doesn’t disappoint as the last in the series. I really loved the “”trial”” of Dionysus, Fiona, Sloan and Nikon versus the Gods and the discussions of Fiona and Zeus. AND now the tears fall that the series has ended! Hopefully we will still see cameo’s from Fi and Sloan and to find out what their baby gender and name is. Looking forward to more on some of the other family members…..
Last book it says book 7 but there was 15 books before this series, this series runs along side the elements series with Jules in and where Tad moved to, Jules gets a cameo in this series before she finds out about her fire. (I read that series first before fiona but it's best after) looks like there is more in this world with her two brothers who are single or is Emmet single will be get back with ciara? The new first book is out now but not sure how many. I enjoyed this world but the end of this book jumped to her being five months pregnant would of liked to see her find out?
This is the end of Fiona and company. 22 books in the making. It ROCKED. This ties up soooo manyvlose threads and issues we've seen throughout the series. Dare I say there's some unexpected healing too? We will still get some of the gang in the Urban Elemental novels and the Hidden City books. FYI The UE books are already being written and a few are out. These books are about family and love and how strong that is. It's a wild ride and well worth the read and investment.
I’ve never been more invested in a series. This series keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire ride. It’s not your everyday story where you can predict what will happen 2 chapters deep. No, this series has had me laugh out loud and cry ugly tears. I’ve gasped at turns and loved every minute. I don’t usually leave reviews because I’m not a confident writer, but I felt this series deserves credit where it’s due. Give it a try, you won’t regret it.
I recently began this series, loved it so much I reread it and am on book 9 for the third time right now. I had to take a break to read this one and it was a stunner! Loved it and all the other books. Most of the plot twists I figured out, being an avid reader and understanding how stories evolve, but there were "mind blown" moments throughout the series. Excellent writing and an amazing cast of characters that can be spun off in many directions. Keep 'em coming and I'll keep reading.
I started this with the origin series. I have a red head and it seems hard to find real relatable heroes/ heroines for "gingers" as my teen told me. This was a really great close for Fi and the rest of her battle group. I loved the stories from start to finish. It even gave me insight to my Irish roots I've never been able to really each since my folks' parents were all passed by the time came along. Thank you for giving this story life and tying it up it a perfect bow.
I have loved this series since book one. Once I start to read, I can’t stop. The high octane action, the bonds of family and friends and watching the characters grow and come into their own I have enjoyed immensely. It’s only the thought of seeing the family in Brenny and Emmets story that is keeping me sane. I can’t recommend this series highly enough. Read it.
Yet again Auburn and Michael have collaborated efforts to bring another awesome book to further entertain us and bring the main story to a close. Well wrought guys! Its well worth having the entire series and am looking forward to the future of your efforts! As far as im concerned these authors are marked on my personal must be read list. And i recommend that yhe new readers in our midst might want to do the same!
I have thoroughly enjoyed Fiona, Team Trouble, and the extended family and friends (especially the various creatures and critters, dragons, big cats, bears and even bunnies). I am glad a new series with the guys is forthcoming and hope that Sloan and Fiona will make guest appearances. I cannot imagine these stories without them. Thank you Auburn and Michael for all the adventures!
I'm happy that the story will continue (in more than one new series, which we have to thank the authors for!) but I will miss Fiona. She was the spark that made this series one of my all-time favorites. Not that I won't check out the new books (I already downloaded the first elemental book). And I'll probably reread this series at some point.
Thank you both for a great ride and for giving us all you have and more.
Dragons, Magick, fae, Greek Gods, and plenty of shenanigans. Fiona is in rare form as she fights the wrongs of the world and champions humanity. Some huge surprises in this end the series... things I would never have guessed. But, no spoilers and you’ll have to read it for yourself to find out if they get their happy ending. Plus...one of the only books where Characters talk with an Irish accent in my head...so sexy!
I can’t believe this series is at an end, this has to be one of my absolute favorite series ever written. Fiona and her family are seriously inspiring as family, friends, and determination. This entire series has gotten me through a very dark time in my life. But also reminded me of the power of family, laughter, and the healing that can come from it. Thank you so much for opening this world to us.
Book 7 of Case Files, book 22 of Urban Druids all five stars
This has been a wonderful journey and omg the characters are family! I read this one in one day… should have paced myself. So good! Anderle and Tempest get story arcs that blast across the world with magic! Thanks for the ride! Off for more off shoots!
An excellent way to wrap up a very enjoyable series. If you haven’t read all “Chronicles of an Urban Druid” do so. Then follow up with “Case Files of an Urban Druid”. The authors give us great characters, plenty of action, put us in fantastic locations, and keep us entertained for many hours of reading.
As always the book was absolutely incredible. I love Team Trouble and their adventures. The plot flowed , the settings were described in beautiful details, and the characters were a joy. The climax to this story was a surprise as was the addition of two new characters and a promise of a third.
Loved every book in this series even if Fi is a bit over-the-top on the love train. These books just burst with positivity and beating obstacles. The extended family Fi builds around her is diverse and entertaining. I highly recommend this and the preceding Urban Druid series.
An outstanding and entertaining series, well worth reading!!!!!
Congratulations to Auburn Tempest and Michael Anderle for this amazing series. It’s extremely hard to find such interesting and e,xciting authors who not only write intelligently but also provide top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories. I’m really looking forward to the next series!
To steal some of Fi's words, this series is "amazeballs" and the characters are "awesomesauce"! This is one of my favourite series for so many reasons and I recommend it regularly. I will miss all these fantastic people but will look for them to pop up occassionally in the spinoff series. I loved the ending and how each storyline was wound up.
I have enjoyed the entire series completely and am so happy how thus book ends. No more spoilers! I highly recommend that you start at book 1 and for these who like urban fantasy you will be happy you did. Be prepared to laugh out loud multiple times during each book.
An excellent story and I adore the ending. New adventures await and yet friends and family are never far away. I enjoyed every one of the books about Fiona and her family - it's a series I know I will be reading again in the future.
Love, violence, snark like you wouldn't believe!!! Majik, mayhem, and really, truly amazeballs characters you will never forget! Howard S (the S is for Super fan!)
Really! That's it?! We've followed their story and now they're pregnant and she steps down and all is right with the world? No she's beautiful baby or as trouble magnet as her mother? Crap ending!
