The darkness is closing in...
And I’m the only one who can stop it.

They say I’m the key. The Chosen One.

They say I have the power needed to restore Prince Airic to the throne and save the Dark Castle.

If only I knew how to use it.

My monsters are helping me learn, but it’s their bodies that I crave the most. They are the spark that always sets me ablaze… and my magic too. I just need to figure out how to harness our bond and tap into the power within. Somehow.

But time isn’t on our side. There are enemies everywhere, danger lurking around every shadowed corner, and a bloody war looming on the horizon.

Controlling the chaotic magic inside me is the only way to take back the kingdom and free its people from Malachi’s wicked reign.

Otherwise, the darkness will devour everything.

And this world, along with the monsters I love, will be lost to me forever.

Wicked Reign is book 3 in the Kingdom of Monsters series. It's a full length fantasy monster romance with some darker themes, lots of steam, and is a story where the heroine will end up with more than one love interest.

Wicked Reign is the finale of the Kingdom of Monsters series and it picks up right where book 2 ended with Reis in the hands of Malachi. Stella (FMC) has to find the strength in herself and her work out how to use her magic. As well as all of them coming to terms with their dynamic with each other. With a lot of steam, a bit of humour and giving into their feelings. It was definitely an ending that had everything thrown into it and it made for a great read. I loved this series.

We've finally reached the end of Stella's story. The fates of both worlds lay on her shoulders, and she also needs to save Reis from Malachi. Stella can sense he's alive, but she must make haste. Malachi's plans are nefarious, and she doesn't know how long Reis has to live.

I loved the growth that the characters go through. They bond and work together in the time of need, putting their personal feelings aside. Especially the males. They want to make Stella happy and protect her, and they'll make sure she gets whatever she wants.

Harper Brooks wraps up the Kingdom of Monsters series with the third and final book, Wicked Reign. The book picks up right where the previous book left off with Reis captured, Airaic's throne stolen and Wels, being Wels. It's a complete s-show.

Stella had decent confidence for most of the series but she seems to take a hit in this one. Her confidence and self-worth hit an all-time low. Stella is having trouble learning her magic so she's doubting herself and what she brings to the little group she's formed but she doesn't give up fighting for her guys and the Shadow Realm.

The guys are struggling too. Reis was absent for most of the story (cause, you know, captured and all) but when he did show his love and devotion for Stella is clear. Speaking of love for Stella, Airic has no problem admitting his love for her and has thrown a couple of temper tantrums because of it. Well, that and because I think he might be a little lost without his throne. Wels slowly comes to the conclusion that he has feelings for Stella, and he did it all on his own. He still has that playful way about him but his edge (even with Airic) has lessened. Together they balance each other out and the bonds between them are only growing.

This book dragged a little bit for me. And there were some plot holes and confusion, some things I just didn't get. I enjoyed delving more into Stella's magic but it wasn't really explained too well and overall things seemed to be stagnant. I do like the fact that a few things were explained such as Stella's time in the Shadow Realm when she was younger was explained but then when it came to her powers at times it was understandable and other times confusing. Harper did a good job with the villain. Finally getting a better look at Malachi on a deeper level, and figuring out who he is as a person, help put things in perspective and gave the perfect opportunity to discover what he really wants.

Wicked Reign was the conclusion to Stella and her guys' story. Stella found that she had more power than she realized, which is good in a realm full of monsters. The ending was fairly dramatic but everything was wrapped up, Stella got her HEA, and it's been a long time coming.

Last book in this trilogy.
It also starts where the last book ends, so I’d advise reading book one and two before this one.

Wels/Airic and Stella are looking for Reis. (You’ll have to read the last book to find out why he’s missing) with the help of an ally (who betrayed them first) they begin their search.

Stella finally gets all of her questions answered in this book, but not before they find Reis, try to Malachi and save Airic’s realm! She needs to return to her world to find clues, but upon returning, her world no longer looks the same! It looks like to save both worlds Stella needs to solve the prophecy and quick!

We get to read from all the main characters points of view (which I personally like) We get to read Airic and Wels’s sides, to witness them putting aside their differences and being there for one another, for Stella and to bringing home Reis.

Taking on Malachi is a daunting battle, but one they hope to achieve and survive if they all want to be together. He’s not going to be easy to defeat as he grows stronger with each day!

That was a great read. Lots of action and emotion through the book. I really liked how they thought only Stella is the saviour of all worlds, when in fact that’s not the case. It also took a while for Airic to accept both Reis and Wels in Stella’s life, and that’s a different view from all the other #whychoose stories I’ve read, usually the characters are either established in their group and someone comes along and joins them, or they all come together and accept one another straight away. There is also no m/m action, it’s all about Stella 😉

I’m hoping we return to this world at some point, but as there wasn’t really anyone else we gathered along the way, it’s highly unlikely.

It’s a great book and a great trilogy, I’d highly recommend it.

*on a personal note, I didn’t feel Airic/Reis/Wels were really monsters. One shifted, one gathered shadows to him, I’ve read other stories with actual monsters, and this one I felt wasn’t a true monster story.

Book 3 came back well from book 2, where I felt the plot got lost in all the sexual activity. Yes, there's still lots of sex in book 3 , Stella has sex magic after all, but most significant for me is that the plot came back strongly, not only focusing on the steamy scenes. And that plot is what captivated me in the first book. Soooo, whilst we still get yummy scenes, we get to see the why, the how and the everything in this book. I was delighted that Lizzie made such a strong appearance in this book, she's really cool, especially when she's in full battle mode as guardian. I really enjoyed her character. The guys, Airic, Weis and Reis showed a different side, a lovely side, and one has to credit Stella with their evolvement. She too evolved beautifully. I could feel her frustration at not knowing how to manage her Magic, but she only realised she had magic and a rather unique one at that.

With Reis in the hands of the evil Malachi, Airic, Weis and Stella pull out all the stops to save him and indeed, the entire Realm because Malachi has really neferious plans, plans that include Stella. Their only hope is for Stella to learn how to harness and use her magic and seek aid from a very unlikely source. Her uncertainty and her fear only add to the drama. All the stakes are high, very high, not only in a desperate attempt to save Reis, save the world but to hone in on the magic, to adapt it and use it in the way it was meant to be used.

As I mentioned, lots of explicit scenes but this time there was lots of action, lots of twists and a HEA, which I always enjoy.

I would have liked to see a lot more happen in this book since a lot did not happen in the last book. Things didn't really start moving until Stella finally left that cave maybe halfway through the book, but when it did get flowing it gets interesting fast because there is a good amount of action and suspense. I thought she had pink hair and pink eyes, but then it became blue at the end before the big faceoff. I'm doing a lot of reading so it could be me mixing up books.

I loved Reis since book 1 so I would have liked to see more of his point of view, because even through he was captured he probably had more going on than the lust-a-thon & he kind of faded into the background. I liked the growth I saw in both Wels and Airic through the series. Airic was a bit much for much of the series, but came around early enough that I wasn't still giving him the side eye at the end of the book. As for Stella I would have liked for her to be stronger in her own rite without having to rely on the intimacy of her men and basically being a battery for them to power up on for most of the series. I would have liked to see a lot more growth in her instead of right at the end because she literally falls apart or does the exact opposite of what she should do almost every single time it is time for her to do anything on her own & it got frustrating after a while.

I thoroughly enjoyed the end of the book and how the prophesy was revealed because it was definitely was not what I was expecting. It was kind of bittersweet because there was some sadness there, but also a lot of happiness.

Love Conquers Everything

This book finally brings the series full circle and Stella finally gets the answers she's been desperately searching for.

Reis is in Malachi's clutches yet with Stella's magic and when they get down to her "feelings" they can all still feel him and know that he is still alive. But for how long? To get more answers Stella heads back to her world and comes face to face with a reality that is no longer hers.

Airic and Wels finally come together for the sake of Stella and everything she means to them. When they take on Malachi, will they be able to take over and change what he has done? When they find out Malachi is on a war path to not only take over Shadow World, but all of the worlds, what will happen if Stella isn't strong enough?

This book was steamy. I personally was a little confused at the end with the lock and key meaning but I enjoyed the story none the less. I loved all of these characters and felt like it ended on a perfect note. The author created a new world that was born of its own type of monsters that I hope we aren't saying goodbye to just yet. As always, I look forward to more from this author and am sad to see Stella and her guys story come to an end.

*Overall 4/5
*Heat? 5/5
*Fast Burn
*Multiple first person POV
*MFMM Romance
*Ends on HEA

I tried to like this book but ended up hating it. In the past when reading there was occasional unclear sentence structure. but this books so far been filled with that and typos. It started to feel like it might have been written with the assistance of AI and upon further inspecting of the title/cover I could see that that author used generative AI for her cover. Which, was incredibly disappointing. With that knowledge I feel like the author loses credibility. If they use it for covers they most likely will use it on books too.

I’m unsure if the writing for sure, but when reading it the story derailed and after making it over half way it just seemed like the book was lost at that point. Sentences didn’t make sense even rereading it, the story had a lot of unclear moments, it’s like the last two books were useless in this one.

And as for the covers there are artists out there that would have cut a deal too instead of the author using AI on the cover. (Which is obvious when you look at the bottom of the torsos perspective compared to the legs as well as some of the fabric how it’s laying.)

AI stole and continues to steal the money out of artists homes and with writing being an art it’s affected too. Due to the fact that the author was fine using AI for the cover, this author no longer has my support. I’ll be removing all titles from my tbr.

Wicked Reign is the final book in this series, and while things started out (in the beginning) engaging and thrilling, the end of this series just fizzles out for me.
The previous book ended with a bit of a surprise revelation. Reis isn't dead like originally believed. The question now? Where is he? What really happened to him and can they get to him? Well, the truth is...they have to. He's a part of the overall equation that can save not just their world, but all that are connected.
Stella and her remaining two men have to come together if they are going to win the fight that is ahead of them.
This book has highs and lows, but for me, it gets bogged down in the emotional and sexual aspects. I love steamy scenes, but this book gets bogged down in it. I know the intent is meant for the characters to connect and discover something more, but it becomes repetitive and dulls this story's luster. Unfortunately, while you get a HEA, you don't get an epilogue. I think that an epilogue would have rounded out this story perfectly and given the perfect ending to all of the characters' troubles.
It's a decent ending to the series, but certain elements, unfortunately, drag it down.

Stella, Airic, Reis, and Wels get their satisfying conclusion in this exciting fast-paced final installment in the series. Airic and Wels must put aside their wounded egos and unite to help Stella control her magic, locate a kidnapped Reis, and defeat the enemy. This trilogy packs a punch and will take readers on a thrilling emotional journey.

Stella has truly grown and transformed into a powerful heroine. I love that she went from meek and unsure of herself at the beginning of the series and grew into a confident heroine that is stronger than anyone could imagine. While the men in Stella’s life help her navigate uncovering the truth, she must heavily rely on herself to fight against the enemy.

The heat in this book was phenomenal. Fast burn, exciting, and very smutty. Definitely a great trilogy and I am honestly sad that this foursome’s story is over, but hopeful for other stories in this shared universe!

Tropes: Paranormal romance, fantasy romance, royalty, reverse harem, friends-to-enemies, enemies-to-lovers
Heat: 5/5

Wicked Reign - The epic conclusion to the Kingdom of Monsters series! The final book picked up right where book 2 left off, with Stella, Airic and Wels devising a plan to free Reis and defeat Malachi. As they start working through their plan they find themselves back in the human realm where the lovely Lizzie gets to make another appearance as a total badass and I’m so glad that she got a chance to shine in this book! She sets up a meeting with the magical version of Mr. Miyagi so that Stella can get a grasp on her magic (cue training montage). The trio makes their way back to the Shadow Realm, where they all have to make sacrifices in order to save Reis, defeat Malachi and bring Dark Castle back to its glory.
This book was fast paced and steamy! I am so not ready to say goodbye to these characters but I’m so not going to miss those cliffhangers that Brooks kept leaving us with!! I am so excited to the Prequel to come out in a few months and can’t wait to read it!.

I thoroughly enjoyed this series the conclusion is so addicting it keeps you turning the pages.
Stella's still trying to figure out how to get Prince Airic back to the throne & save the Dark Castle with her monsters help she suppose to be the key the chosen one if only she get her powers to work.
Stella, Airic & Wells go to see Airic old mentor in the human world to have him train her how to use her powers, try to save Reis from Malachi & get rid of him for good.
Malachi not only wants to take over the Shadow World but all the worlds, will Stella be strong enough to do what she had to rid them of Malachi once & for all.
I definitely recommend to get this amazing well written series you so won't he disappointed will Stella, Wels, Airic & Reis get their HEA, can she put Airic back on the throne & save the Dark Castle its a must read to see what happens to all.
EXCELLENT ADVENTURE WITH AWESOME CHARACTERS YOU CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF 🖤🖤🖤

Tons of spice with a deep storyline!

What an epic ride!!! This is book 3 and it picks right back up where book 2 ended. This book was action packed! It's got such a deep plot, nothing is simple. There are so many twists, you really start to feel for our main characters. Stella has no idea what she's doing, but she's determined to be be beat. She refuses to give up and is adamant about saving her men and both of their worlds. Malachi was such a twisted villain! You're rooting for Stella, Auric, Wels and Reis to figure it out because there's no way they can let him win. Harper A Brooks did an amazing job creating this complex world and all it's inhabitants. The character development was great! To see Airic change from book 1, when I really didn't care for him, to book 3, when I loved him, was just WOW! And yes, there's still plenty of spicy scenes! The spice level was off the charts!! I hope we get more from this world!

Our heroine has learned a lot, but she still has a bit to go. Together with our heroes, it is time for her to face the villain and save her people and her men.

This is book three of the series and its conclusion. I strongly recommend starting at the beginning.

This is a dark urban fantasy story with a reverse harem going on. The story is very well written and easy to read, with a well detailed world that provides an excellent stage for our story. The characters are also well developed and bring the story to life. I like our heroine, and our heroes have grown on me as well. The plot is a bit dark and features plenty of intrigue and action which keep things moving along. As the conclusion of the series, there is never a dull moment as we pull all the pieces together. Overall, a highly enjoyable series and I look forward to our author's next creation.

Highly recommended.

Wicked Reign, the third book in the Kingdom of Monsters series by Harper A. Brooks was a fabulous continuation and ending to this series and a definite must read for any RH monster loving fan!

This third book continues the story of Stella and her men and it did not disappoint—giving us lots of steamy sexy scenes, non stop action, a few twists and turns along the way, answers we’ve all been waiting for regarding Stella’s powers and finally the perfect ending for our crew! I loved the journey Harper took us up with these characters and all the growth they had and seeing them all come together perfectly.

What can i say besides the fact that Harper Brooks is the ultimate genius when it comes to writing steamy intense action packed unique romances with characters that are utterly so delicious you wish they were real—even if they are monsters.

Wicked Reign comes to an end with all sorts of magic, battles, and of course, spicy times Harper Brooks happily gifts to us. Book 2 was journey saga of this trilogy, and we traipsed all over to keep Stella and Airic safe from Malachi. Here, Stella is on the ropes. Reis is kidnapped and seemly on on a time limit for his own life, Airic has no kingdom left, and we wondering if Wels can be serious long enough to help anyone. Herein lies the crux of the story as Stella's intriguing magic must now be shaped and coaxed into complying with her demands and wishes beyond simply being railed into next week. Through the training and travels, the reasons and mythology behind Stella and her men comes into focus, and Harper takes us on a wild final trip that somehow tugs all the loose threads into a single tapestry.

What an exciting, riveting and total rollercoaster of a ride to the finale of this trilogy.
Everything heats up and so much happens as we get to see all four main characters rise to the occasion in so many ways. I loved discovering, connecting, falling in love and feeling them all come together finally in all ways. The sex scenes are steamier, if at all possible, storyline is as surprising, mysterious and unexpected which is no surprise after reading first two books and going to miss hanging out with Stella and her Sexy Monsters.
Really enjoyable series and I am sure will re-read again and again as great story and character adventures.

I am so sad that this series is over but I have to be honest and say that I will not miss those cliffhangers, they were brutal. Stella has grown so much since she first fell through the looking glass, so to speak. She has learned to believe in herself and to trust what she sees, no matter how unlikely or even ridiculous it might appear. She has slowly forged her connection to three very different males. The writing sucks you into this world and cannot help but almost shout out at the injustice of how hard this group are fighting to put right a world that seems happy to languish in darkness. If they cannot bring everything back from the brink it won't be for lack of doing nothing. A brilliant book and a brilliant finale.

The third and final book in this series really delivered what I was hoping for. It had lots of spice, great action, and the plot/twists really brought everything full circle with a nice conclusion.

I had mentioned in my review of book two I was really hoping to see more growth from some of the characters (Airic in particular) and I'm very happy to say that was realized in this final book. I was also happy to have some long awaited questions answered and see Stella really lean into her powers and learn how to wield them.

As always, Harper Brooks delivered an action-packec adventure with lots and lots of spice. I really liked this new world she created and it was very satisfying to see Stella and her monsters achieve their HEA.

Wicked Reign

Stella must learn to harness her powers and use them in order to save Reis from Malachi. Can she and her men save him before it's too late and Malachi enacts his deadly plans?

The final book in the Kingdom of Monsters trilogy ends with a bang. We get a plot that has finally been fully fleshed out with more than just steamy scenes (not that I minded those), and we get to learn more about the whys and how's. Stella has grown to be an absolute bad@$$ FMC, and she has some incredible men backing her. I absolutely love Reis, Airic, and Wels, and how they adore Stella. This was a fantastic ending to this series and one of the best books I've read from this author.

I enjoyed this series. This is the third book in the Kingdom of Monsters series. We pick back up with Stella, Airic and Wels hiding out. They are trying to figure out a way to get Reis back from Malachi. Stella needs to work on figuring out how her magic works. A trip to the human world they find a way to visit Airic’s old mentor. They want him to help train Stella with her powers. After a incident they end up back in the shadow world. Now there they come up with a plan to get Reis back. They also plan to make an attack on Malachi. Will they save Reis and stop Malachi once and for all? Read the series to find out.

This trilogy has been a wild ride! This book concludes Stella’s story ( you have to read the other 2 first!), and what a story it's been! We get our answers as we dive right back into this very entertaining series! The world building done throughout this series is so good! I enjoyed the multiple POV, I personally prefer multiple pov as it helps give me as a reader a better understanding of the characters .This book moves at a great pace and flows well. With lots of steam, relationship growth , answers and a satisfying ending, I am happy with how this story concluded and while I am not sure we will see more of this world, I am excited to see what we are treated with next!

This is the last book on the Kingdom of Monsters series and i have to say that i enjoyed it.
This book picks up where book 2 left us and that is with Reis in the hands of Malachi.
Through this book we see how Stella and the guys try to control her power and save the Kingdom.
Lots of action in this book and lots of emotions along with humor , steam and characters that evolve as the story progresses.
I have to say that the story for a monster one was mild. The guys didn't really feel like monsters but the author has done an amazing job with her world building and her creative characters and gave us an ending that had it all.

The final book in the series- and you most definitely need to read the previous books for this to make sense!

The book picks up right where it left off. We have very little information gap between the two and what we needed rehashed is done so in a way that it doesn’t feel like a rehash (if that makes sense!?).

The characters have definitely grown and matured through this series. The men are the ones you notice they most- which is nice. They all work together and have become a really well functioning group. The details are amazing, the writing flows so well, and you’d be hard pressed to put this book down!

Oh man what a final book this is! We have reached almost the end of the Kingdom of Monsters trilogy, and it doesn’t slow down for anything.

Stella needs to harness her powers and use them to save Reis before Malachi puts his deadly plans in play. Stella has grown into an amazingly bad-ss FMC and her men are just as amazing. Reis, Airic, and Wels love and adore Stella with everything they are and it shows. There was a great balance of plot and schmexy things going on, it was the perfect ending for these characters and their story.

I loved this trilogy and already miss them and can’t wait to dive back in when I need a fix.

final book

I always have a love hate love relationship with books. I love seeing the end of a long drawn out series, how everyone gets what they deserve, and enjoyed seeing them grow into amazing characters. Then I hate to see them leave. To never join them on a new adventure. But love seeing what is born from the series after, especially when the author is kind enough to return to the world and we get glimpses of our old friends who have now moved on. Will that happen? We shall see.

Until then I will enjoy the memories, especially the steamy ones, in regards to Stella and her men. They went through a lot to get to their HEA.

I've enjoyed the other books in this series, and while I did like this one, I was confused with some things.

Stella is still trying to understand and wield her magic, Airic and Wels try to help, but she's struggling and they're all concerned with Reis and how they can get him back. They sort of find a way to help him without being with him, but actually finding him takes time and planning. And then there's Malachi to deal with.

I enjoyed most of the story, I just got a bit lost with parts of the magic system. This story ties everything up well, though, with the characters getting the ending they deserve.

This is the third and last book in this series and starts right where book 2 ended. I really enjoyed the plot. There's lots of action and lots going on as we move towards the conclusion. I felt that this book had alot of spice which kind of took the focus off the plot. I like spice in books but I found this book had quite a bit and I really wanted more plot driven story, especially the ending. Overall, I really liked this book and the whole world was such a joy to read. We get all the answers and all the wishes that I had hoped for in this finale. I was satisfied. Wonderful series and wonderful book!

🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: DNF..... I might one day but I barely kind of did not make it through book 2. I skimmed this and skipped to the last chapter to at least know how it ended. Overall, I wouldn't read this series again, but I also didn't read it entirely just skimmed and skipped to the end because I needed to know if Stella survived her fate.
