This book is a great way to show children how to take care of books. This book could be used as a writing prompted where students can write how they will take care of their library book. I also liked how the children in the book were of color.

Great book to go over library rules and how to behave in the library. It’s also great for discussing book are and how we should treat our library books!

I think this is a perfect book for any Preschool or Kindergarten classroom to read before starting to read books on their own or before going to the library! The message was simple and easy to understand, as there wasn't much text on each page. The cute and diverse illustrations also helped to convey the message.

Great book to read to students before checking out books in the library! It teaches students about how to take care of book properly. I thought that the illustrations were bright, which would help keep students engaged. I enjoyed the fun facts page about libraries.

Well not the greatest text or illustrations out there, this is a very effective teaching tool on how to properly handle library books - I know at the library we get asked for this kind of thing and it's the first title I've seen that fills the niche.

Didn't really enjoy the illustration style. The repetition of "using good manners" every other page got to me may be it works better for kids who need to be beat over the head 15 times with the same message???!

“There are lots of ways to use good manners with a library book.”

A good summary of how to treat library books. Will make a good first read aloud of the year in the library to discuss library expectations.

This went over much better than I would have imagined. I used it as a read-aloud with my first and second graders and they loved repeating "good manners" with a thumbs up sign.

I use this when talking about book care with first graders. I think I skip a page or two to shorten it, and follow up by showing damaged books and discussing how we can keep our books safe.
