WHAT WOULD YOU DO?Regardless of where you are in your life, LIVING IN YOUR TOP 1% will give you the framework you need to turn your vision into a reality. In this empowering and thought-provoking book, Alissa Finerman shares the most powerful ingredients for success and translates them into nine simple and easy-to-implement rituals. Combining research from the best thinkers in the field with a collection of compelling stories, Alissa has created a comprehensive guide to reaching your true potential. The book helps to assess where you currently are in your life, identify the areas that you would like to excel in, and develop your own personal roadmap to get there. This includes identifying your core priorities, breaking down the process of pursuing meaningful goals, and teaching you how to overcome obstacles along the way. The book is divided into three Assess, Create, and Implement. Each section includes three rituals that will inspire you to create the reality you want. The nine rituals will challenge you to think differently, take action, and get RESULTS. This book is mostly a collection of cliches and platitudes: embrace a can-do mindset, be resilient, set goals, try things outside of your comfort zone, blah blah blah. First, I've seen all of this elsewhere. Second, it could have been 25 pages instead of 200 pages. Third, a lot of the advice is hard to act upon or plain silly. For example, in the section on becoming more resilient, the author suggests the following five steps: become more aware of your thinking during challenging situations, set meaningful goals, learn from experiences, build your self-confidence, and strengthen your relationships. Umm, yeah. Or, you know, you could just work on a progression of activities that require more and more resilience. Practice will improve your attitude much more than "friends who you can turn to for empathy".

The author organizes and draws out tried and true healthy habits and illustrates with examples on how to incorporate them into your life.

I wouldn't recommend this for someone expecting to see themselves successfully reaching their "1%" potential with these alone, but I would recommend this to someone as a start on their self-improvement journey as it is daunting. The neverending journey is particularly overwhelming now with the barrage of "helpful" business agendas often highlighting fringe success stories positioned on pedestals. So this book does an okay job of keeping things applicable for the general populus while giving scientific evidence and inspiring anecdotal evidence throughout.

Tips to living your best life. I like how she says it not about being in the top 1% but living in your top 1%. As I have read a lot of personal development books, there was nothing new here but all good reminders I need to implement. Having a growth mindset over a fixed mindset etc.

“The key message in this book:
To become your best possible self, you need to start by looking at yourself. What’s important to you? Then it’s just a matter of setting meaningful goals and taking small steps toward them, no matter what obstacles or setbacks you encounter.”

Read Mindset by Carol Dweck and Positivity by Barbara Fredrickson.

Great book. It took so long to read this slim book because we read it together as a team at work. It sparked a lot of great conversation and actual improvement in personal and work related goals. A great motivator. Highly recommended.

Whilst I agree with some of the concepts, this just didn't resonate with me or my way of thinking
