Heath Pfaff is an author who lives in rural, western New York. He was born in a small town, and spent a good potion of his life growing up all over the world as part of a military family. He is married, and has armloads of cats and a dog named Eris.
A good finale to the saga and definitely worth reading. The characters are memorable and the author does make you feel with them. I was little disappointed by the ending though. The author introduced some fresh and unorthodox ideas along with some unexpected twists of the plot in the books. I somehow expected him to fully step out of the box and come up with some original idea for the ending. As it turned out however, the ending was totally predictable and uninteresting from the innovation point of view. The motivations and goals of the main villain turned out to be extremely plain and a way too human-like (which did not really fit well in my opinion).
Nevertheless the entire series was good and I really enjoyed them. If you look for something new and fresh, they are really worth reading. But you should not expect a masterpiece or a book that you will want to read more than once.
I had a hard time with this series and am still unsure how I feel overall. The idea behind it was original and interesting in terms of both the story and the world he created, but it fails in the follow through. It was not well written, the character 'development' was not organic and often did not make sense, and the protagonist's inability to understand what was going on through every stage of the series was extremely frustrating and unbelievable. Despite being consistently annoyed with those things, I wanted to keep going. I'd like to see what Pfaff would be capable of with a good editor.
Over the course of this trilogy I have truly come to love some of its characters.malice being my favorite.lowin desperate struggle to find his daughter kay was a emotional rollercoaster in this box.so many heroes fell along the way.all in all this was a excellent series throughout and I hope that the other has a story or two left in him involving this world
This book was along the same lines as the previous two, but even more strangeness and ideas that just never really came together. It wasn’t a smooth read, and I found myself not wanting to even keep going. Nothing really kept me wanting more, except the fact that it was the third and final installment in the trilogy. The sex scenes were the worst part of it. I don’t read fantasy books to be overwhelmed with creepy innuendos and analogies. On the other hand, the battle scenes were very well detailed and well thought through. I give the author credit for having different ideas, but I just felt they didn’t really come together well. The ending of the book and series was pretty well done, and helped me rate this book (even though I found it very difficult to rate. I’m going to give it a 3 star rating. I think the series as a whole is about a 3-3.5 star. It’s just…okay…that’s all I can really say about it. I don’t know if I would recommend it to others because it was just okay.
Good trilogy, fast paced, but sometimes the main character was a little too angst-ridden for my liking. Interesting fantasy world, a bit slow in places, but overall a good read.
I really enjoyed this trilogy! The editing on the kindle editions was terrible, but the writing was ok and the story was great! Fast and fun read, excellent epic. If you enjoy fantasy, I recommend.
