SOME PEOPLE HAVE ALL THE LUCK. THE REST OF US MAKE IT.
Let’s face Most of us think Feng Shui is synonymous with moving furniture. But Feng Shui specialist Ellen Whitehurst has updated this ancient art form and given it her own unique spin. The result is “Lucky Day Shui,” which is based on her more than twenty years of training and expertise in Feng Shui, aromatherapy, and other modes of holistic healing. What’s more, this approach is a breeze to incorporate into your life, and there’s no heavy lifting required!
Make This Your Lucky Day covers all nine Feng Shui energies–including career, wealth, marriage and partnership, children, and creativity–and is broken down into specific days, events, and life situations for which you could use a little extra luck. Do you wish to
• Ace that job interview? Wear deep, dark blue to enhance self-esteem. • Increase your bank account? Place eight coins under the welcome mat at your front door. • Seal a great business deal? Start the day by lighting nine red candles. • Finally get pregnant? Sleep on green bedsheets. • Chase away a cold? Diffuse lavender essential oil for a holistic antibiotic.
Harness the energy of the universe, stack the deck in your favor, and open the door to greater opportunities. Today can be your lucky day!
“[Ellen Whitehurst] is a magical person with strange and mysterious ways. She found my power centers, and they even work during a blackout. Now, that’s talent!” –Joy Behar, co-host, The View
“Ellen is irresistible–both her personality and her advice. And fortunately one never comes without the other.” –Stacy Morrison, editor-in-chief, Redbook
Ellen gives many Feng Shui Adjustments (Cures) to attract good health, money, improve relationships and make the most of life. Her writing style is in-your-face conversational which feels as though this is more of a face-to-face conversation with Ellen than a book read which may serve some readers well. At times, I wished that the book would just cut to the chase and get to the adjustments or at least provide a reference section. The adjustments are plentiful although this book might be difficult to use as a reference without post-its, a highlighter, and a red pen. This book compliments Ellen's course at DailyOm.com, Make Yourself a Money Magnet, well. Ellen specializes in Western Black Hat Feng Shui which the reader should note while reading this book.
The title certainly sets it apart from any average Feng Shui book. I didn't know that was the topic. The title intrigued me what might be inside, but I never guessed it was a detailed expansion of the bagua for modern Americans to utilize some of the cures for common problems, and also how to use these to set and meet goals. I have never seen such a Feng Shui book offer helps with common concerns such as debt relief, job seeking and interviews, fertility, helps with certain health conditions, and so on through each of the bagua areas. These cures were all very accessible to anyone. The items mentioned are very inexpensive, and readily available and likely already in the home. The author offered alternatives, and ideas for developing further support. There was alost no mention of the standard contents one would find in the typical Feng Shui book. That alone sets it far apart, and makes it worth a read for those interested in this subject. So often, each book tells the same, bland story. This gives honest assistance in common areas of need, and desire.
I adore Ellen and her easy-to-understand descriptions of Western Feng Shui. She has such a wonderful sensee of humor and always makes me laugh, her book reflects her sense of humor throughout the pages packed with information and inspiring stories. Ellen always encourages the reader to use their own intuition when performing Feng Shui cures, which I love. If it doesn't resonate with you, then don't do it.
I really enjoyed this book. It was well written and had many cures for all areas of the home. It was well laid out so you could easily find which section you were looking for.
