Loved it!!

I loved this book!! The Mother is the Hero of the book.
The end shocked me.....was not at all prepared for it. I live in OK so the places were all familiar to me, which was nice!
Judith Henry Wall also wrote Blood Sisters, which is my all time favorite!!

Wow! This was a very well written book...about a high society mother and her lawyer husband and their two kids, who are now 16 and 19. Mom has had this family all tidy and in order for years. Dad takes care of the "troubles" (DUI's by son, wrecked cars, and etc. (!!)). Now their son has really gotten himself in ... majorly bad trouble. Trouble that could mean imprisonment for years. Sis has become anorexic, and mom is having to examine her role in this whole mess...angry at dad for protecting his son, who she thinks needs to be "responsible." Very interesting family dynamics and resolution. Very well written. I need to look up some other books by her.

A difficult read because of subject matter, amongst other things. I couldn't really connect with the characters on any true level but found parts of them relatable. I was contemplating putting this book down but finished it, due to the fact that the last couple of books I'd tried to read were real duds. I am glad the book ended the way it did as it was its saving grace. 2 Stars

How much do mom and dad protect children from the mistakes they make in life. Detailed look at a horrible situation and how the family handles it.
