This book is from 1947 and was a fantastic reminder for me to always read history books critically. The book itself contains a fairly accurate description of the life of alexander the great but having read other biographies the biases are clear. The role certain people had in events are downplayed and in some cases they are straight up removed to suit the author's arguments. Furthermore the narration itself often attributes any and all of Alexander's less (by modern standards) noble behaviour to "oriental influences" even when that same behaviour is found among greek soldiers, heroes and kings.
