Very average take on the rise on Fisk with a bit of the early days of Spiderman thrown in. Though Fisk was both cunning and dangerous and there was a bit of Bugsy Malone about the whole thing, it just never came together and just seem to plod along. Unlike Daredevil & Punisher crime stories, there was nothing here that showed Fisk is that great grey horrible light he occupies. Read if you like Kingpin, miss if you're not too bothered.
The 4 stars are an average - 5 for the excellent Sean Phillips/Klaus Janson artwork, and 3 for the story, which should have been better, coming as it did from the pen of Bruce Jones.
Extraordinaire, une belle découverte. On découvre les débuts de Fisk dans le milieu de la pègre. Ambiance 60's dans un New York version le Parrain II. Sombre, sanglant et pas joyeux, mais délicieux.
