I'm having a really hard time with a review for this book. There are some things that were done really well here, but there were developments that made me want to pull my hair out at the same time.

The story centers on Gianna, a human-vampire hybrid, plotting revenge on Mattias, the man who she blames for the death of her parents. As the book begins, Gianna rescues the vampire Nicholas from some of Mattias' henchmen. Nicholas is only in London to try to end a feud between Mattias and his family. Obviously, it's not going so well.

Anyway, Gianna takes Nicholas to her home and the two of them hit it off right away. She knows his connection to Mattias, but he doesn't know hers. So he's shocked when he finds out she and Mattias are dating. The relationship is a ruse to get close to the man. And it seems like Nicholas and Gianna are on the path to something really good. He even takes her back home to the States. She gets close to his family; everything looks great.

Let me tell you, Jae Lynn Davies can write the hell out of some sex scenes. There were a good many hot moments. They never felt monotonous or redundant. They were outstanding. I loved the idea of Gianna finally finding happiness with Nicholas, even if he did fall in love with her sickeningly fast.

But then, the story is completely turned on its ear. All of a sudden, Mattias isn't what he seems and the book goes in a completely different direction. I would have drop-kicked it if I didn't value my nook so much. I completely lost any ability to relate to Gianna and simply could not understand her feelings. I hated where she ended up and the ending was a cliffhanger.

I guess part of the reason I'm so frustrated is because I really liked where I thought the book was going. I sure as hell was on board with the love scenes. But then... (**sigh**)

I guess it says something that I got invested enough to be this bothered by it all. But Very hard to rate this one. 3 stars. It would have been more had the ending been different.

Mythic is a love triangle reader’s paradise. This book is not my typical read. I stick with romance that has HEA’S closer at the end. I had a reviewer take this book to review, but she ended up not liking it and couldn’t finish it. So it was up to me to do it. I really didn’t want to read this book because I hate love triangles. Why I hate love triangles? Because I am always rooting for one guy and then the other and it ends up in a heartbreak that I can’t stand… Why can’t the girl have both? I mean come on who can choose between two great guys UGH. So, I wasted a whole morning trying to avoid my duty in reading this book. When I finally got around to reading it I found the first of the book very interesting and different, I had to keep reading. Then I found the author added an interesting twist and turns to the story, which I found simply marvelous by the way. I had to keep reading, then the author added a lot of hot sex, so you know I had to keep reading then;) Oh my, maybe it isn’t as bad as I thought it would be and I kept going…. I ended up enjoying the characters, I didn’t at first think I would like hard core bad butt Mattais, but I ended up liking him the most. I also liked Nicholas he was sweet, see I can’t make up my mind ugh. Anyhow, I did end up liking the book a lot more than I thought as some of you can tell because I would normal rate a book like this a 1 or a 2. 3 so that’s saying a lot for me. I would even love to keep reading this if I knew that Gianna would stick with Mattais, but the way it reads now she probably won’t. This book does carry a HEA, but it could change in the next book.

What I didn’t really care for was the heroine Gianna. Every guy wants to have sex with her that drove me crazy. She ends up with of course, sleeping with Mattais and Nicholas. But there’s two others that want in her pants and does try it. But some of you may find this lady really lucky LOL.

Would I recommend this book? Yes, I would to anyone who loves these love triangles. With the action, twist and turns and the hot sex in this story it would be paradise to someone that loves these stories.

Did Not Finish
April 2, 2011
Couldn't do it, I couldn't finish. I made it 92 pages out of 152, and I had to push myself to make it that far. Then of course I skip to the end to see how it ends and I hate the ending! Not gonna keep going.

The book started out really good, with lots of action and intrigue. But then I really started to hate Mattias, and my dislike went from there. I hate how cocky and egotistical he is. He gets what he wants and be damned with the consequences, especially for anyone who stands in his way.

Loved Mythic! I really wanted to stake Mattias. Now I think I might want to stake Sofia. Love, Hate, Sacrafice, Betrayal the twists and turns in Mythic are great! I didn't see a lot of them coming. A few times all I could think was "Seriously, What the hell?!?!

Love to know what Nicholas is going to do. Will he interfer with the deal Gianna struck with Mattias? What is Dante up to? What are the other characters special gifts? Can't wait to find out.

Guess I will have to wait patiently *not one of my virtues lol* for Blood Moon.

I can see where the author was going with this. She was trying to be different from the rest when telling a paranormal romance. But the story was weird, stupid, interesting, boring at times, absured and some times it just made no sence. And there are some mistakes that the author made in the story when it came to the characters doing one thing one minute than the next something else. I can say it is a 50/50 when it comes to who will like and who won't.

I felt such promise in the beginning of the book. I was thinking it was going to be great. Vampires who doesn't love vampires.

The plot was short of a problem for me. I was pulling into many directions.
The POV was hard to figure out who's head I was in.

This kind of fell short for me though. Almost to the middle of it I felt that I was having a hard time keeping my entrust. I wanted to like it more.

Absolutely loved Mythic... The entire concept the characters I didn't find anything lacking! It was a complete cliffhanger for me and I can't wait for Blood Moon! The characters faced so many conflicts and all around tough decisions. I didn't see the twists and turns coming in this book at all! A definite must read!

* Finished it, but it was a chore
* Grave POV problems...unable to determine whose thoughts are whose
* Thin plot mottled with holes
* Whorish, insensitive heroine
* Love triangle (not a menage like the cover implies) and she picks the wrong damn guy

Drama Paradise for the Addictive Reader & Freakn’ Hot!

What an awesome start to a new series. Mythic is totally not what I had expected, it far exceeded my expectation due to the emotional conflict the story unfolded between the Love triangle of the three main characters Mattias (human-vampire hybrid), Gianne (human-vampire hybrid), and Nicholas (Vampire).

Between the shocking events of discovery and the drama between the characters this is one book that will keep you glued to the pages waiting to find out what happens next. For those of you who love to watch Soap Opera’s with cliff hangers at the end of each episode then you will appreciate this book.

The author’s writing style is pretty smooth, the character build up is so realistic to our real life that it is not even funny, and all I can say is that Jae can definitely write some hot erotic scenes. So get ready for a good melt down between your legs and getting an itch to seek your own release – LOL

I loved Gianne’s character because I could totally relate to her. Even though she was a half breed of being human and vampire which she spent most of her life concealing in order to bestow revenge upon the one person who took her family away, she was a hard core woman, very independent, tough physically and mentally, and she had balls bigger than the two men she had feelings for. The sexual magnitude Gianne body carried is a natural gift that you can’t turn off and no matter who you meet or see it’s like an electrifying force field that draws everyone in with a desire that has to be sated. Yes I totally related to the woman as I seen myself through her eyes and had filled her shoes once or twice in my life time. LOL

As for Mattias and Nicholas, boy do I have conflicting emotions towards both of them. First both are sexually irresistible and fantastic lovers. But both their personalities are what swayed me from liking one to hating the other. Mattias has the sexy Van Diesel look but he doesn’t get what he wants through fair game, no he manipulates with lies and deceit and even goes as far as giving ultimatums to get what he wants. So for me the only thing Mattias has going for him is his looks and the way he has sex – very animalistic.

For Nicholas, I fell in love with him immediately, he was handsome, had a great body, could make love beautifully, very loving and caring, and could sweep a girl off her feet easily with his charms. Problem is, his fear of rejection and taking a chance got in his way until the last minute but by then it was too late. Some women would probably say he was just too nice of a guy.

With all that said, the dramatic ending of the choices Gianne made in the end left me in a WTF state and had my emotions running crazy and wanting to reach in the book and bitch slap her for being stupid. It also had me buying the second book “Blood Moon” immediately because I had to find out what happen to the unanswered questions to a possibility of a happy ever after in the future and the fate of Mattias and his coven.

I definitely recommend this awesome book to the Drama Addictive Readers who love paranormal romances with lots of erotic excursions.

Great Read!

A new twist to the paranormal brings the Dhampire into the limelight. Half-human, half-vampire, all legend.

This is an ok story with some steamy scenes in it but it just never "got" me. I like to be pulled into a book and live it whilst I'm reading it and it just never happened with this book. It was almost stilted. I found it quite difficult to believe the situations that arose and the main female's feelings towards the two (main) vampires in her life.

There is a book 2 but I think I'll give it a miss.

At first I didn't like Mattias. I though he was the biggest jerk I've ever met, but toward the end, I feel hard and fast. I was actually happy to see Gianna with him.

Nicholas, was so sweet you can't help but fall for him too. His family is old school with a modern twist.

Without giving any spoilers, I'll say the love triangles seem to be the core of the majority of the problems the characters face. I'm eager to see what happens with Dante!

The problem with the first book in a series is that it is the first book in a series. You have to introduce characters, build your world and introduce threads that will be pulled in the future. The author does all that in this book but that’s pretty much all this book is. It sets up the next book. And because I want to know what happens I am going to have to read on…
