The history of Los Angeles nurses has never been told before. Now in a single volume learn how the nurses in Los Angeles began.
Over 400 photographs—many never before published—of forgotten events and little-known histories of Los Angeles nurses, schools, and events from 1856 to 2013. Although this book is about nurses it is not written for nurses only. The book details the development of a professional group whose actions often affected the citizens and the history of the Los Angeles basin and the United States.

Revelatory and excellent. The book was lent to me by someone who was mentioned in it and I didn't finish because I had to return the book. I do recommend it, though, for some fascinating character studies plus a huge expanse of local history as viewed and experienced through the lives of nurses, starting from the 1800s.
This book is for those who appreciate history through pictures and biographies. the pictures are historical pictures. the book is organized chronologically. Easy to follow with pictures you will not find any where else. The author did a great job.
