There's nothing that I love better, than a hot alpha male, strong "kick ass" heroine and great storyline. Ms Nancy Gideon, delivered the goods, once again in this terrific read.
I have to share a favorite quote from this book. This is a scene between Silas and Monica:
"Trust me Nica. Let me be a part of your life. Let me protect you. Let me be strong for you. Let me be whatever you need, whenever you need it. All you have to do is ask."
Wow, that's one swoon worthy quote. ;)
All in all, this is a great read and series. Love it.

Nica and Silas
Charlotte and Max

I am not sure how well-known Nancy Gideon is. I have previously read four books by her in her Moonlight series. That series features mobster boss/shifter Max and his human mate/cop Charlotte. Max and Charlotte are one of my favorite PNR couples. I will rave to people about them, if they would just listen. When I found out that Gideon was doing a spin-off from her Moonlight series I have to admit that I was a little apprehensive. The last book about Max and Charlotte didn’t end in a place I was 100% happy with. I still felt like there were too many unanswered questions for them. And to top it off, the new series is in the same world with the same characters. How could I possibly read about someone else when really I just want to know more about Max and Charlotte?
Ms. Gideon was about 85% successful with the new series, in my opinion. And the reason I give her such a high random number is because over half of the page time included Max and Charlotte. It was almost like the story really is about Max and Charlotte. The main hero and heroine are Nica and Silas. Both Nica and Silas show up in Bound by Moonlight. Nica rescued Charlotte from four shifters who attacked her in an alley and Silas came upon Nica as she was fighting off the four men. Nica is back in a town where she spent four years as a child. Those four years were with Father Furness, Charlotte and Mary Kate. She left because she needed answers and something was calling to her. Something far stronger than she could control. She ran away from St Bart’s and was taken in at a place that could train her and harness the thing that was inside her. Nica is a rare species. She is a female shifter that can shift. There have only been a handful of them ever known to be alive. She is in town on a special mission that is not revealed until the end of the book.
Silas was allowed into the Terriot clan only because he swore to serve them for the remainder of his days. In return, they were to take his sister and friend into the clan and protect them as their own. In order to restore his family name, Silas has this great plan to kidnap Oliver Babineau, Max’s ward. Oliver is considered the prince of their kind. By returning Max to the Terriot clan Silas believes he will be the new hero and will be given the respect he has long deserved.
Both Silas and Nica are in town with their own agenda. Those agendas cause them to meet up and face and undeniable attraction between each other. Ms. Gideon did a good job of establishing their relationship. However, once all those details are presented to the reader the story veered off into Max and Charlotte land. Since that is what I wanted to read about to begin with, I was pretty happy. But my confusion is why didn’t Ms. Gideon just write about Max and Charlotte and have Silas and Nica be the secondary characters? The book was still pretty good and held my attention like all of her stories do. However, after having four books of the characters I adore I was so emotionally attached to them that I almost didn’t care to read about the main hero and heroine in this one.
Nica and Silas’ story wrapped up nicely at the end. Because of the way it wrapped up we will be seeing a lot of Nica and Silas in the upcoming books. Max and Charlotte still have the ongoing arc. There were some major questions answered in this book about the ending of Bound By Moonlight. Charlotte’s partner, Alain, was as good as dead to me. He had turned betrayer. There are some actions in this book that put me back on the fence with him. He did some good things but is still being set up to be a turncoat. I am not sure how that will fare overall. The big bad guy is someone we saw coming. It is someone who should have paid the price a while ago. I was happy to see that part come to pass but not sure where this will leave things in the business end for Max.
The big question from the end of Bound by Moonlight is answered and boy what an answer. Along with that we learn something new about Charlotte. Both things we learn make me even more frustrated to hear that the next book is about bar owner Jacques and not Max and Charlotte.
So while this book was good, I was still left kind of antsy. Ms. Gideon brings all new people and plots into the mix which will make the overall story arc fresher and longer. I can definitely see why the book was written and I will persevere knowing that it is all in the name of Max and Charlotte. I have not heard how long before we can just get back to what we want to read about though. Hopefully not too long? Final grade- B.

The next book in the Moonlight series is finally here! The action is more intense and the reader has the opportunity to know the characters even better. Silas is the newest character. He desires getting his clan back up to their correct status in the shifting world. His goal is admirable, but will not be easy to achieve.
Monica is controlled by an enigma with skeletons in the closet. She will need Silas' help to escape the hold this man appears to have on her. When the two realize that their individual missions connect perfectly, the sparks begin to fly. There is an instant connection between the two of them right after seeing each other for the first time-a bit of a teaser for the reader. Monica acts like such a tough cookie most of the time, it will entertain and please the reader to see her slowly fall for Silas. Silas is actually more calm and collected than Monica-a nice change from the typical neanderthal male love interest.
This book is perfect for any reader who has enjoyed the first few in the series and/or loves paranormal romance. The events were interesting and fast-paced, the ending was slightly unexpected, and the characters are very likable to the reader.

Trained assassin Nica is used to living on her own and truthfully she likes it better that way. Her entire life has been lived moment to moment, connections with people just brought pain. She may be able to kill a man with little emotion, but denying her attraction to the fiercely guarded Silas, is something she doesn’t know how to handle.
Silas has his own secrets. Secrets he can’t afford to forget. A job he can’t afford to do. People are counting on him infiltrating the New Orleans police department and bringing home what he was sent to collect. The last thing he needs to is fall for the assassin that seems to always be showing up.
Nica has powers emerging she knows nothing about and she needs Silas to help her figure out what is going on. The few people she is coming to understand better then herself, are the very same people she is supposed to kill.
Hunter of Shadows is one of those books that you try a lot to love. You want to love it. You keep telling herself to read more. But in the end you are disappointed and feel like you ordered something and the waitress brought you something completely different.
I started Hunter Of Shadows thinking that even though the story seemed to center around a different couple, that we would still get to see a lot of Charlotte and Max. Unfortunately they don’t have much of a role in this one and for that I felt let down. Oh, they are still there, some. Just not in the fashion I wanted them in.The previous main couple has been relegated to secondary roles for this book and after being the center for four other book, this didn’t feel right.
I didn’t really like Nica. I can’t put my finger on why exactly. She had this tough exterior, which normally I can go for because eventually they soften up, if only for the main hero. This just didn’t feel like that. She spent much of the book referring to Silas has basically a booty call. She never wanted to give into the feelings she had. Then, all of a sudden she flipped and was in love with him and couldn’t live without him. It like like she walked from one room and into another and her whole personality changed.
Add to this that Silas was in a round about way cheating on his childhood sweetheart and I just couldn’t like him. He had this girl back home that he has promised he would come back to. They were friends for years and as they grew into adults, thrown together by tragedy, Silas promises they will be together after he comes back from his assignment. Then he goes off and meets Nica and they start sleeping together…while this other girl is waiting at home. What? Now I’m not normally one that draws a line in the sand….and there is definite gray area since Silas had never actually slept with this other girl….BUT…you can’t go telling a girl that she should wait for you, that you will be together, then go sleeping with some smoking hot assassin. Even if you’re doing it out of some misguided sense of family duty. Yes, I know that was a huge run on thought….my mind doesn’t do punctuation.
Alan also makes appearances in this one because he has been temporarily partnered with Silas. I wish Alan would make up his mind about his wife. He either loves her and can stomach the fact that she is a shifter. Or he doesn’t and he needs to move on. He has found a way to work with everyone else…but his wife is still out in the cold. I don’t get it. The boy you claim you love is suffering because you’re treating him like a leper. Man up and take action, or leave, because hanging around can’t be easy on either of them.
It’s safe to say I just had issues with Hunter Of Shadows. I tried, I really did, but ultimately I just didn’t like it. I hope the next one focuses more on who I had come to love, Charlotte and Max. Or give me characters I can get behind.

I continue to be thoroughly impressed by Ms. Gideon's writing and by this series. I was hesitant about this book given that it did not revolve around our beloved Max and CeeCee...but I needn't have worried. Silas and Nica were more than worthy of their own book, and the world has been expanded in most intriguing ways. The writing flows beautifully as we've become accustomed to, and I especially love how this author lets the information be revealed a piece at a time. She leaves us wondering, but not for long enough that it becomes frustrating. And then, just when you think you've got it figured out - she throws in a totally unexpected twist! Secondary characters take on larger, unforeseen roles as this world grows. I can't wait to find out what happens next!

This wasn't my favorite of the series. That being said it was still really good. I love NG writing style. This story was fast paced and the new characters were pretty great as well. Nica was mentioned in the previous book but not by name but by a certain action as a mystery person. Silas is a new partner w/ detective Alain. Which can I just say is still an ass. He did do something noteworthy and made me like him again. But by the end of the book I still don't know what his agenda is and the way he treats his wife and step son hasn't gotten any better (idiot!).
There was a lot of action and a lot for Nica and Silas to work with. Trust being a huge part of it. There was mystery of who was out to hurt who? What was up with Nica? Silas and Nica both have troubled pasts . Nica was a hard ass and at times I wanted to smack her but then when she had her vulnerable moments it was sweet . Silas was calm and once they both got their acts together they balanced each other out. Cee Cee and Max were in there enough for me to be happy since I love them . Big news at the end for a certain character. Oh man I cant wait to see how its relieved. Overall I was happy with this book even though it wasn't Cee Cee and Max story. I hope it goes back to them soon.

I was 20% into this book when I wondered, why do I care about Silas MacCready? Who was he in relation to Max and Cassie? Then the author starts to reveal the plot.
Basically, we get introduced to other clans in the Moonlight series.
Silas is working undercover and encounters an assassin Nica with her own agenda. While it appears that they have opposing loyalties, Silas and Nica can't keep their hand off each other.
We then see that Nica (Monica) was a childhood friend of Mary Kate and Cassies and Silas is a cop working with Cassie's partner Babineaux. So I can see who both couples are entwined and I knew the story was about to get more complex.
I continue to enjoy this series and look forward to the next journey for the shifters and the cops.

A wonderful companion story to the Moonlight Series that can also be read alone. Monica comes back to New Orleans with a job, but a mix-up in an alley gives her more reason to hang around than just an old friend.
Silas is in town as a guest undercover cop but he's also hiding his true motives. When he meets Monica, he's not sure he can go through with his plans.
I loved how this story continued with the Moonlight series and Cee Cee and Max. We learn more about those beloved characters as well as meet new characters.
Ms. Gideon tells an exciting tale where you never know what might jump out of the dark! Certainly a must read for her fans!

I continue to have a love hate relationship with this series. On one hand I actually liked Cee Cee - but maybe this is because we didn't get her POV, on the other hand I never really connected with Nica and Silas. Sure they were likeable enough at the end but they aren't a favourite. The world is interesting though and the overall story arc is starting to thicken so I feel compelled to pick up the next book :-)

I liked the book, but I prefer Cassie and Max as the main characters. But Silas was pretty awesome and good to have at Max's back.

Silas and Nica, Max and Charlotte
I am not sure how well-known Nancy Gideon is. I have previously read four books by her in her Moonlight series. That series features mobster boss/shifter Max and his human mate/cop Charlotte. Max and Charlotte are one of my favorite PNR couples. I will rave to people about them, if they would just listen. When I found out that Gideon was doing a spin-off from her Moonlight series I have to admit that I was a little apprehensive. The last book about Max and Charlotte didn’t end in a place I was 100% happy with. I still felt like there were too many unanswered questions for them. And to top it off, the new series is in the same world with the same characters. How could I possibly read about someone else when really I just want to know more about Max and Charlotte?
Ms. Gideon was about 85% successful with the new series, in my opinion. And the reason I give her such a high random number is because over half of the page time included Max and Charlotte. It was almost like the story really is about Max and Charlotte. The main hero and heroine are Nica and Silas. Both Nica and Silas show up in Bound by Moonlight. Nica rescued Charlotte from four shifters who attacked her in an alley and Silas came upon Nica as she was fighting off the four men. Nica is back in a town where she spent four years as a child. Those four years were with Father Furness, Charlotte and Mary Kate. She left because she needed answers and something was calling to her. Something far stronger than she could control. She ran away from St Bart’s and was taken in at a place that could train her and harness the thing that was inside her. Nica is a rare species. She is a female shifter that can shift. There have only been a handful of them ever known to be alive. She is in town on a special mission that is not revealed until the end of the book.
Silas was allowed into the Terriot clan only because he swore to serve them for the remainder of his days. In return, they were to take his sister and friend into the clan and protect them as their own. In order to restore his family name, Silas has this great plan to kidnap Oliver Babineau, Max’s ward. Oliver is considered the prince of their kind. By returning Max to the Terriot clan Silas believes he will be the new hero and will be given the respect he has long deserved.
Both Silas and Nica are in town with their own agenda. Those agendas cause them to meet up and face and undeniable attraction between each other. Ms. Gideon did a good job of establishing their relationship. However, once all those details are presented to the reader the story veered off into Max and Charlotte land. Since that is what I wanted to read about to begin with, I was pretty happy. But my confusion is why didn’t Ms. Gideon just write about Max and Charlotte and have Silas and Nica be the secondary characters? The book was still pretty good and held my attention like all of her stories do. However, after having four books of the characters I adore I was so emotionally attached to them that I almost didn’t care to read about the main hero and heroine in this one.
Nica and Silas’ story wrapped up nicely at the end. Because of the way it wrapped up we will be seeing a lot of Nica and Silas in the upcoming books. Max and Charlotte still have the ongoing arc. There were some major questions answered in this book about the ending of Bound By Moonlight. Charlotte’s partner, Alain, was as good as dead to me. He had turned betrayer. There are some actions in this book that put me back on the fence with him. He did some good things but is still being set up to be a turncoat. I am not sure how that will fare overall. The big bad guy is someone we saw coming. It is someone who should have paid the price a while ago. I was happy to see that part come to pass but not sure where this will leave things in the business end for Max.
The big question from the end of Bound by Moonlight is answered and boy what an answer. Along with that we learn something new about Charlotte. Both things we learn make me even more frustrated to hear that the next book is about bar owner Jacques and not Max and Charlotte.
So while this book was good, I was still left kind of antsy. Ms. Gideon brings all new people and plots into the mix which will make the overall story arc fresher and longer. I can definitely see why the book was written and I will persevere knowing that it is all in the name of Max and Charlotte. I have not heard how long before we can just get back to what we want to read about though. Hopefully not too long? Final grade- B.

Hello! What a heart pounding read. This was my first Nancy Gideon book and I got plopped into the thick of things. First off, the heroine in this book has no qualms about having sex or lusting after the hero even though she's only known him for a short time. She's very comfortable with her sexuality and I find that refreshing.
Silas MacCreedy is all sorts of yummy. He's been transferred to the New Orleans PD and on the hunt for something that could restore his family from lowly nothings to honored members of their clan. If everything goes according to plan, he won't have to stay too long in New Orleans.
Dun dun dunnn. Monica (Nica) Fraser puts a giant kink and a bit of kinkiness into his plan. She's been hired by an unknown person to kill someone, tie up loose ends so to speak. She's ready to get in, do her thing and leave, no one the wiser. Well, acting the helpless woman by luring four unsavory characters who attacked a friend of hers, she goes about her business eliminating them until Silas happens upon the alley. He tries to do his whole hero business but soon realizes that this woman is a badass and can take care of herself.
There's more to Nica than meets Silas's eyes. She's keeping a secret that he will do anything to uncover starting with keeping an eye on her. Silas develops an uneasy and suspicious alliance with Max Savoie (Bound by Moonlight) in order to get closer to the person he needs to kidnap to restore his family name. He has a hidden agenda and as he gets to know Nica more, he begins to question whether he's willing to hurt her to fulfill his mission or if he will throw it all away just for the love of this extraordinary woman.
Nica must figure out if she is willing to betray not only Silas but all the other people she's come to know and have treated her kindly just to gain her freedom. She must use all her mental strength to keep the demanding blood thirsty voice from trying to control her and make her succeed in killing the person she was meant to kill. Time is running out and Silas must find a way to keep this unknown being from taking over Nica's mind in order to save her and those around them.

OVERALL: There's quite a few stories woven in this book and at times I became a little confused (it may have been due to the fact that there were screaming children on the plane while I was reading) but the story flowed well. Nancy Gideon has a way to making the reader want more, need more and when you think you know what's happening, TWIST! From their first meeting until the end of the book, Silas and Nica scorched the pages with their sexual chemistry, induced laughter during their witty and sharp banter and made me sigh during their tender moments. The magic of NOLA shines through the sizzling and sultry kisses, the danger, the intrigue and mystery of the city. I'll be putting the rest of the Moonlight series on The List.

I'll begin by admitting that I was sulking when I started reading Hunter of Shadows. Why? Because my beloved Max Savoie is not in a starring role...nor is Detective Charlotte Caissie. What is the author thinking?! Why is Silas MacCreedy & Monica Fraser in the spotlight? I know who they are but why should I be interested in their story? Being the devoted fan of the By Moonlight series that I am, I sighed & turned to page one to find out. And late that same night, I finished it...yes, in one sitting. Seems the author knew what she was doing! Ha! Imagine that! :)
Silas MacCreedy is a newly transferred detective in the New Orleans Police Department - a shifter with special talents, intent on carrying out a special mission. Who is his target? Monica (Nica) Fraser is a mercenary shifter with deadly abilities and intentions - for hire by the highest bidder. Who is this deadly assassin sent down on a mission from the North? I don't usually start a series towards the middle, especially when it's a book for review, but as much as I wanted to I just couldn't fit the others into my reading queue right now. I actually have the others in my TBR, that I purchased for myself some time ago, so this is a series that I wanted to check out and I am glad that I did. It only took a few chapters to get the gist of what I needed to know about past characters and storyline, although at times I did feel like I was missing out on something. It's not a bad thing, more like I just wanted to know the full history of Max and Charlotte, the protagonists from previous books. So, I've moved the others more towards the top of my reading schedule and hopefully I can get to the soon because I liked the vibe in Hunter of Shadows.
So onto my review...
MacCreedy and Nica are a complicated couple in a complicated mess. Nica is an assassin that is controlled by a mysterious man with a hidden agenda. MacCreedy is a cop with the NOPD and a man that carries a lot of baggage from his past. They both have trust issues and watching them fall in love was quite entertaining. You never knew if Nica was going to go off the deep end and kill, nor could you figure out how MacCreedy might handle it if she did. One area that they never struggled with was in the bedroom *fanning self and smiling*. These two were scorching hot and practically singed the pages!
I thought the mob action in the book was well done and call me bloodthirsty, but I liked the action/fight scenes. In one scene from the very beginning of the book Nica snaps this dudes neck and I could hear the vicious crack of bone breaking, like in a movie scene. The writing is excellent and shows how talented the author is at creating her not-so-nice world. The scenes are intense with nothing feeling fake or generic. You should definitely check out the Moonlight series, very gritty and very cool.

I wasn't sure what to expect in Hunter of Shadows, the first semi-spin-off in Gideon's Moonlight series. I've grown to love Charlotte and Max, the focus of the first four books, and while I found Silas interesting, I wasn't sure he could carry the story. Of course, Gideon proved me wrong. I really enjoy her writing style and the were lore she's created with this series. This was certainly not my favorite of the series, but it reassured me that even if Charlotte and Max are now side characters I will continue to enjoy the series.
In Hunter of Shadows, Detective Silas MacCreedy, who we met in Bound by Moonlight is on a mission. Tragedy in his past has led him to New Orleans where he hopes to "secure his clan’s place once again in the Shifter hierarchy". His plans become cloudy when he "rescues" (Mo)Nica Fraser, a childhood friend of Charlotte's, one night. He quickly learns that Nica, an assassin with a mission of her own, is more than capable of taking care of herself. The sparks he feels when she kisses her "hero" make him remember his sister's words about mates.
The romance between these two was not romantic, but rather fierce and wild, which was fitting considering their personalities. Charlotte and Max Savoie were side characters and I was happy to see them. I hope they continue to play a part in each of the following installments. I am anxious for #6, Seeker of Shadows, due out in June, which will feature Jacques, the shifter bar owner.

When 2 strangers meet one night they can't deny the immediate attraction to one another. Silas McCreedy knows that Nica is dangerous, but he can't the inner voice within him telling him that Nica is his mate. Nica knows that Silas is different from others and drops her guard a few times when he is around. She can't afford to make mistakes when she has a secret to protect. Once Silas learns Nica's secret,she knows what she has to do, and that's kill him. But she can't bring herself to do that. There is a constant push and pull between these two characters throughout the book. You just don't know if they are on each others side or if they are enemies. Silas is also conducting undercover work to also get information for not only his job as a cop, but to get close to a local crime boss. Silas has a score to settle and get revenge against this person. He doesn't need any distractions and tries to keep his distance from Nica, but they seem to keep running into each other.
I had a difficult time getting into this book. The storyline just didn't grab my attention enough for me to be truly interested in what was going on. The introduction of characters throughout the book confused me at times and I found myself getting a little confused as to who did what. I hadn't had the chance to review the previous books but I had read them but this is the first of Nancy Gideon's Moonlight series I have reviewed.
In Hunter of Shadows we get to meet a new hero in this series, Det. Silas MacCreedy. He is on a secret mission to get his clan place back to their the place in the Shifter world. But like every great novel things do not always go as planned. Silas meets a mysterious assassin who is about turn his world upside down. I haven't discovered a heroine like Monica Fraser before. She is all that and more.. Its only fitting that Silas is the only one that can bring Monica out of the danger she's been through all her life.
Somewhere along of the lines they both realize their missions intertwined. Monica and Silas must discover just how much they stand to lose if they don't work together. And of course this book can't go wrong with Max and CeCe along for the ride.
I have to say every time I read a new novel in the Moonlight series by Nancy Gideon get even better than previous. It sure as hell gets me all happy and giddy when I start to read a new book by Ms. Gideon. And no offense to the previous books but this one, Hunter of Shadows is quickly becoming a new favorite of mine. I very much look forward to reading the next book in this series, Seeker of Shadows Moonlight #6
I can't help but rate this a 5 star rating for Hunter of Shadows.

I was aware that the book was #5 of a series, but many times I can still follow the storyline enough to enjoy it, and may even go back to start the series from the beginning.
Hunter of Shadows, however, was a disappointment. First off, there was too much gratituous sex for my liking. Also, even though the main character was a shapeshifter, he never actually shifted *at all* except for occasional eye color and long fingernails (claws). A disappointment for any werewolf fan.
But I think the most annoying thing about the book was the names of the characters. Each character seemed to have multiple names (full names, nicknames, pseudonyms, etc) which made it very difficult to determine who was being talked about at any given time.

A friend of the female lead was Charlotte Caissie who also went by Charlotte, Lottie, Cee Cee and even Chili Pepper (her exotic dancer name). It made things too complicated and I spent so much time determining who was being discussed that I couldn't really enjoy the plot.
I definitely won't be reading the rest of the series.
Hunter of Shadows, however, was a disappointment. First off, there was too much gratituous sex for my liking. Also, even though the main character was a shapeshifter, he never actually shifted *at all* except for occasional eye color and long fingernails (claws). A disappointment for any werewolf fan.
But I think the most annoying thing about the book was the names of the characters. Each character seemed to have multiple names (full names, nicknames, pseudonyms, etc) which made it very difficult to determine who was being talked about at any given time.

Silas and Nica (Monica) are both strong, likeable, awesome characters that have complicated back-stories. What made this interesting, was the mystery and complexity of those back-stories. Silas and Nica gradually realize they can share a common goal. Charlotte and Max are secondary characters in this one, but still are central to the plot. I liked the opportunity to read about other characters in this unique world. I see (and hope) Charlotte, Max, Nica and Silas will continue to be secondary characters in the other books that I have yet to read in this series. I hope their stories are only beginning especially with the bombshell about one of them at the end of this book.
Information is revealed in this book related to the underlying plot-line that started with the first book, Masked by Moonlight. The mystery continues....(What are the Shifters/Trackers/Ancients and how do some of them have abilities that none of the others do? How do they fit (or not) in the hierarchy? Who is kidnapping Shifter women? How does that fit into the overall plot-line? Will Alain get his shit together?)

Having not read any of the Moonlight Series I think I was running a bit behind on this one but still it was quick to figure out most of what I was missing as the story progressed. I really want to go back and read these from the beginning because the characters are just really awesome and strong and I want to see how it all began so to speak.
Silas..good Lord he could rescue me any day of the week! (sitting here fanning myself just thinking about it) I totally enjoyed how he and Nica met and from there on in the pages just sizzled so much I was afraid my fingers were gonna catch fire. I could just feel the passion flowing between the two whether they were sexually mauling each other or totally trying to kill one another. Really good storlines going on thru-out including mob scenes, some kick ass fight scenes and yep some breath taking sex so I dont recommend for the faint of heart.

I received this book yesterday for free to review! This is the first book by Nancy Gideon that I have read! I have to say the she made a fast fan out of me! Her writing captured me and I didn't want to put this book down! I was constantly on the edge of what was going to happen between Nica and Silas. Long story short.. Wonderful book and I can't wait read another novel in the Shadow series!

It was very interesting I'm just disappointed that the focus was not on Max and Cee Cee even though they were in the story. It's main focus was Monica Fraser (Nica) and Silas MacCreedy. A passion that was developing between them which they tried to fight off because it was getting in the way of their goals. But hey what you to do when the heart wants what it wants. It is an interesting read full of action.
