Holly Wagner’s best-selling book, God Chicks, was the inspiration for this 90-day devotional that takes women on a humorous, uplifting journey to cultivate aspects of the “God Chick” within. Based on Proverbs 31, Daily Steps for GodChicks highlights the characteristics that God has put into every woman to be the best she can be. Holly’s desire to draw women closer to God takes on added poignancy as she shares out of her heart and her experience with battling breast cancer this year. Find out why Holly sees spending time with God, reading the Bible and praying as lifelines to the Father.
Found this a very easy-to-read devotional that challenged my thinking on some aspects of being a woman and what God wants me to be. For busy women, this devotional only takes about 5 minutes each day. I liked it being able to add it to my regular devotional and bible study without it adding a lot more time.
I will have to start this review of with saying that while reading this book I was touched by how much the author shared about her own struggles. This made this devotional even more personal for me. For many of you know that I am christian and minister, as well as I grew up in a church going family and a Father that was not only an evangelist but as my pastor for several years as I grew up.
Due to that I always had a devotional somewhere around me. So when I was given a chance to read and review this one I jumped at the chance. And I will have to say I really enjoyed:
This has been my favorite devotional ever (and it's not just because Holly is one of my pastors). I have a super busy life, trying to keep a balance between my pursuit of God, family, work, social life, etc...these devotions are short, but deep, insightful, SO FUNNY, relateable in so many ways, contemporary, etc. There are also so many tools in the back pages of the book, recommendations, websites, Bible reading plans, etc.
If you are a new believer or a seasoned Christian, this devotional is for you!!!!
For those readers that are undergoing a great deal of trials, tribulations and bags full of heartache, too. I've truly met my favorite author, the manner in which she describes how she's dealing with cancer, family, work, the household and let's not forget the Pastoral Ministry, too ...
The book club continues and I honestly recommend this book to the on the go wife's. moms and Ministers, too ... #MustReadBook,
