From biblical times down to the present, the wisdom of experience has been condensed into short, easily remembered syings called proverbs. Proverbs Today takes saysings from the biblical explaining what they might have meant in their original setting and what they might mean for people today. Proverbs, by their very nature, are not absolute statements that apply to all situations. They are onservations based on experience, which means that in some cases one proverb is applicable ('many hands make light work') but in other cases another ('too many cooks spoil the broth'). One way Christians grow is by learning how to apply the Bible, including Proverbs, in the constantly changing circumstances of daily life. In modern society, the worldview is different from that of the ancient world. But the underlying characteristics of human nature have not changed. Because Christian contribution to the way people deal with the practicalities as well as the puzzles of modern life.
