Relatively short book covering a period of history that I had no idea about. Solid, but not spectacular compared to good historical writing. It really helps you understand some of the outcomes of the war that had an impact on the beginning of the Revolutionary War. I found it difficult to follow all the characters, in particular the different royals of the different nations who were fighting around this time for pieces of the North American continent.
This book is in the kids history series, called "We the People." I really like the books in this series. This one will be helpful in my son's upcoming lesson on the French and Indian War. I find I really enjoy history books that are geared for grades 6-8. The focus on what is really central to history, with out tons of battle detail.
This was a reasonably well done history of the French and Indian War. I would have liked to have read this when I had to learn about the French and Indian War originally. This covered all the major points and gave enough backstory and anecdotes to make everything interesting and understandable. Nicely done.
