Leaving a career with the U.S. Forest Service in 1986, Clara Wimberly decided to pursue a lifetime dream of becoming a published writer. She is the mother of three grown children and grandmother to two little girls. She loves American history and her hobbies include cooking, counted cross stitch, herb gardening, traveling, collecting old teapots, and, of course, reading.
I really enjoyed this book, the writing was very good.
Sarah James has been in hiding ever since she lost her husband and unborn child in an accident, she retreated to her grandparent's cabin, left nursing and refused to get the scar on one side of her face repaired. One night she finds a man on her door-step injured and she takes him in but is wise enough to tie him.
When he wakes up he has no clue who he is, but through events on the radio they kind of deduce that he is an undercover agent, injured on an operation with no idea who tried to kill him. His memories return slowly like his name Hagan and his bad childhood and friend Cord (who seems to have his own book Georgia on My Mind).
I liked their romance, even though it was quick. Hagan often refers to the prickly cat Tom to describe his feelings, how he has never belonged and isn't sure he is what she needs, but what happened between them was sweet.
