I am rating the 15 Aug 2014 version with a white cover and gold star. The purplish one pictured here was from a dozen years before that according to the listing. The white version has numerous errors. One of the worst is that they tell you that an absolute value is the number on the opposite side of zero that is the same distance from zero. This would mean that the absolute value of 8 is negative 8, which is asinine. That alone is enough to earn it one star only. There are word and picture problems that don't include the info needed to solve the problem, and the answer key is riddled with mistakes and therefore unusable. The book merely serves as review practice and does not do a good job teaching each concept. It is also marked at the wrong level. Students vary in ability, which is natural, but this does not match the level of the average student in 7th grade in my opinion; it is too easy by at least a year, and two to three for brighter students who are good at math. On the other hand, as long as the student has already learned the concepts (or the tutor or homeschool teacher is prepared to teach them better than this book does), it may be suitable as remedial practice for kids who struggle with math and are at the bottom of their class in this subject. But the teacher should be prepared to preread each lesson and correct each item him or herself, and completely disregard the answer key.
