I fell in love with Zorro at the tender age of almost 7 on October 10, 1957 when Disney's TV show premiered. I watched each episode eagerly & was heart broken when the series was cancelled. Over the years, I was able to see Douglas Fairbanks, Sr., Tyrone Power & Frank Langella interpret the character. I followed the various TV revivals & greeted the recent Antonio Bandaras movies happily. I even found a copy of the book that started it all. But through it all, the 1957 Zorro was, to me, the epitome of Zorro and will forever be THE Zorro. So, when I found this book, written by none other than Capitan Monastrio, I was over-joyed. Here was the inside story of the first 13 episodes told by the perfect source. There is lots of detail and interesting facts. But most of all, it confirms what I have long thought as I watch reruns of the shows: those guys were having a ball making this series, and it showed. Bravo, Capitan, bravo for a job well done & a book well written.
It must be a real treat. I re-watch first 13 episode for over a month now each day. Actors and writers, specialists from props and stunts did great job especially in 1-6 and 10-13 episodes which are my favourite. I love everything from props and sets to great acting by Britt Lomond so when one day I will get to read this rare book I will for sure enjoy it.
