Quilters have always known how to use scraps to make quilts. Today, the idea takes on a whole new meaning for those who find it important to make our world a little greener. These books by Bonnie Hunter continue the art of quilting green projects that help you reuse, re-purpose and recycle your scraps into beautiful quilts.
Strengths: 13 patterns for those who like patterns. Settings and pieced borders that can be used on other quilts as well as the ones presented. A concept of recycling and an artistic use of scraps.
What is to me a weakness is more a problem of order of reading. I imagine there was more discussion in her first book on the subject.
And I must say that even the short commentary in this sequel has me rethinking using all new fabric. (Meanwhile I sew for some groups that send quilts abroad that must be all new.) But I"m ready to consider gently used large shirts now.
Beautiful quilts, made with reclaimed fabric. Gorgeous. I love this book and only wish I could be quilting using the author's sustainable principles...ah, can't wait to try this.
