It's the premiere of "The Grove", the Hollywood film Olivia had a small part in – as a goth. Jackson, her Hollywood heartthrob boyfriend, wanted to walk down the red carpet with her, but a fashion disaster puts paid to that. And then a top Hollywood producer mistakes Ivy, in her goth gear, for Olivia...

Meanwhile, the twins' biological dad seems to be all of a flutter near Lillian, second director on the film. And Charlotte Brown is inexplicably hanging around with Jessica Phelps, vampire super-actress. Plus everyone seems to be copying Olivia's premiere fashion style.

Suddenly Olivia and Jessica are in competition for the lead in a new vampire romance movie, opposite Jackson. And Jessica plays mean...

Sienna Mercer grew up in Toronto, Canada. She was an only child, and always wanted a brother or sister – especially a twin. A twin would have been awesome! Sadly, she never got that sister so, when she was grown up, she did the next best thing - she wrote books about a girl who reminded her of herself, and gave her the most fun, fabulous twin she could think of!

Sienna began writing stories when she was a teenager, on a very wet day in Toronto when her cheerleading practice was cancelled - and she has not stopped writing since. She used to write in red leather notebooks while sat on her bed, but now does most of her writing in her attic, which is quite dark, and has some spooky cobwebs in the corners - the perfect location for thinking about vampires. She doesn't use red notebooks anymore, either, although she keeps them in a chest by her desk in the attic.

Sienna got the idea for My Sister the Vampire from a daydream she had - what if she had a super-cool twin sister... who was a vampire? She loved the characters - and their kooky friends and family - so much that she just had to keep writing about them.

When she's not daydreaming about vampires and cheerleading, Sienna enjoys travelling and exploring new cities, and keeps a detailed scrapbook of everywhere she’s visited. She lives in Toronto, kept company by Calypso and Angel – her two gorgeous cats. She is happily writing away and we wait for her upcoming books!

The most boring one so far for me but I think that’s just because I don’t like fame elements in books really. It’s kinda funny bc I think this is as far as I got as a kid as well

This book is really good. This series is really good also. There is always a bit of action and emotion inside each book. I love how the characters (Olivia and Ivy) always stick together and do things together, even when things are hard. There is always a mystery inside each book, too! I think this book/ this series should be read by 4th graders and up. I recommand this book to people who likes to read about mystery, love life, and friendship.

You'd think after all these times I've re-read this book, I would be bored of it be now. But, nope. I enjoyed this re-read just as much as I did the first time I read it, and just as much as the countless times in between. I dare anyone to read this book and not be grinning by the end. Seriously, it's impossible. :D

I did it! I read 7 MSTV books in 7 days! And every second was glorious. I can hardly believe that I still get emotional when I’ve read these books many times, but I can completely believe it because this series is so special to me. No book is without fault (some parts I feel different about now I’m 21 compared to when I first read these, probably about a decade ago, unsurprisingly) but these ones stand up to some pretty relentless scrutiny over here... https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/... ... plus I have adored reading back our discussions again <3

Of the information you learned, what would you like to share with someone else?

Near the ending parts of the book, Olivia is selected to be given an award for the “Brighest Star Award” but when everyone was getting ready backstage, Ivy (Olivia’s twin) saw Jessica (known as one of the school’s bullies) up to something. She followed Jessica backstage making sure that she didn’t get seen or spotted, and saw Jessica give one of the backstage camera men, a DVD to play. The camera man was suspicious but still agreed to play the video anyway. Ivy did her best to tell Olivia as fast as she could what was going on but she was already up on stage about to receive her award. The video played on the big screen, and it was showed Jessica and Jackson (Ivy’s boyfriend) holding hands together and it showed Jackson kissing Olivia on the cheek. This was bad because Jackson was a famous movie star who was adored by many fans (mostly girls) so when Jackson and Olivia started dating, they wanted to keep it on the down low just in case any drama happened or the paparazzi got on their hands. When the audience saw they, they booed and Olivia rushed off stage, and went into a little room and cried, her hands buried into her face. Jackson ran off stage, along with Ivy running behind him as she saw everything that had happened and tried to find Olivia as fast as they could. When they found her they comforted her, but now she had two choices, to either 1) stay there and cry or 2) go onto stage and explain everything that had really happened. She chose to go onto stage and explain everything and she ended up winning the award as well. Everyone was actually very supportive of her relationship with Jackson and everything turned out well.

One of the tips that Olivia said was to “Always be true to yourself” and I think that is very true. :)

This book is SO much better than Take Two, the last one this series I did a review on. It had a bunch of funny scenes outwitting paparazzi and a star Diva. The characters are also better defined since it's a couple more books in. Their relationships give you that sort-of "aww cute" feeling when you read about them, instead of being uncertain of its legality. Everything works out in the end.

I know that I'm not the target audience for these books, but I feel like a lot of potential was missed with this one. One of the coolest things about this series is right in the name of it- they're vampires. In this one, all of the focus is on celebrities and movies, and while yes, the vampires are still there, there's nothing really special about them. Though I'm sure those younger than me (and even me when I was younger) would appreciate the glitz and glam of this one, I still don't love it as much as I would like to.

it is so crazy when you realize all this happened in the span of probably about eight months 😭😭😭 from finding a long-lost twin to discovering vampires to discovering your biological parents to having a part in a blockbuster and dating your celeb crush to discovering you're a descendant of transylvanian royalty to discovering your deceased mom was a twin too, to earning a starring role and winning an up and coming actress award 😭 ALL WHILE NOT EVEN BEING 14 YET!!! like damn

The most descriptive parts of the book were about food and clothes. No character development, just tropes. A very blasè storyline. The only redeeming part was a small moment of empowerment towards the end.

DRAMA! DRAMA! DRAMA!

Oh my darkness! Finally! I loved the story in this one.

I really really really enjoyed reading this book. Both Ivy and Olivia had their ups and downs and no one - NO ONE! - had a major part, everyone's part was equal and perfect just like the first four My Sister The Vampire Books. Not that the other books werent as good as the first four its just I loved the first four books more than the rest but - you know, FINALLY! - this book redeemed itself or the other books as a good book, in my opinion. I literally felt like my teeth sinking into the story. It definitely got me at the edge of my seat.

I still do miss Sophia's character and I missed the whole group - Olivia, Camilla, Ivy, Brendan, Sophia - hanging out. Its good to see - to read? - how close they all still are. And I'm used to the transitions in the story - I dont need those bunnies anymore though I still do miss them, they were very helpful in knowing whose perspective was being told.

I love how there are new goth-lingo words I could learn and use. And I'm so amazed that I'm still so enthralled by this books series. Its too bad though there's only 3 more books - available - to read.

Billed on amazon.co.uk as a 'vampire book for girls who want to read about young love and innocent paranormal romance' I must admit to being intrigued by these books.

Definitely more of a read for those wanting a story of friendship, love, fashion and red carpets than those looking for an action fuelled novel.

I dare say a novel enjoyed by its target audience of those aged eight to twelve. For myself whilst I found this an engaging enough read (and perhaps I should just celebrate it as such) I couldn't help but feel somewhat dismayed that here was a novel that though slightly tempered by Ivy's reluctance to join her twin sister as the 'next big thing' celebrated 'celebrity culture' when what I'd really like to see are more books lauding young girls for their intelligence.

A teen chick lit vampire novel with a difference, they are apparently TWINS but one is a full vampire one is human.
But despite this the girls, Ivy and Olivia are the best of friends as well as sisters.
When Olivia the more outgoing of the pair lands a part in a huge film with her movie star boyfriend Jackson, things backfire when the producer ALSO wants Ivy in the film too!
Chaos ensues when Olivia is invited to an award and a spiteful up and coming star Jessica tries to ruin the evening.
Fun, frolics and perfect teen reading this is a must for fans of the vampire genre in general.
Great fun and a good read.

First of all, I love this series, I'm just missing one of the books. I started reading this in second grade and I loved it but the only thing is that this book,So called "Star Style" is the same thing as another version of it just a different cover and name which is called " The Bat Pack" I pay much attention to details, and I'm sorry if you disagree.

The most unbelievable part of this whole book is that one "normal suburban teenage girl" is dating a movie star teenage heartthrob, ended up being an extra in his movie, and is now being considered for the LEAD ROLE in another movie where her competition is the current it girl movie star... her twin sister is a vampire by the way. The former is still the unbelievable part.

Mmmmhh.. ça parait que je ne lis pas la même chose qu'il y a quelques années, mais je me dois de terminer (éventuellement) la série. ;) C'est quand même des petites histoires cutes et qui se lisent rapidement. Parfait pour faire le vide entre deux autres livres. :)

This book showed that being true to yourself can bring you greater glory. Also, you need to push forward if you are being held back, don't let people get the best of you, just let yourself be free to do what you wish for that way you can bring happiness to yourself and others among you.
