What do our kids need? They need wisdom. "Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom..." Proverbs 4:7 Designed for parents or teachers to use with children from K-5-through Grade 4, twenty-three lessons illustrate qualities of wisdom and godliness. Each lesson is presented in a simple format with illustrations to capture the attention of the child, and supplemented at the back of the book with suggestions for teaching the lesson. Every child of God both adults and children should work hard to show these traits more and more, because we love Jesus and want to be like him. That s easier said than done, isn't it? We struggle with sin every day, and we will fail. The lessons remind us that when we do, we will find forgiveness and the grace to continue to get wisdom at the foot of the Cross.
Just went through this book a second time with our family. This time took it in bigger bites : 3 lessons every Saturday morning. Much better pace for us. Actually finished the book.
Last time it just dragged on... We're using this book for our summer family devotions. I take two days to cover each lesson. My girls love the activity/games, although I have to alter them to fit our situation, but that's normal teaching practice, not a fault of the book.
Used this for our morning “reading” time. It helped me explain character building words to the kids while bringing it back to scripture which I appreciated. My one complaint about it is that there were too many role playing activities to help reinforce the lesson. That aspect of it might be fine with older kids but not for my 5 and 4 yr. old.

If you need a practical, easy-to-use teaching tool that illustrates and teaches wisdom for homeschoolers, Sunday school or family time consider Ruth Younts Christ-centered new release, Get Wisdom. The author’s “23 lessons” on godly wisdom, specifically designed for parents and teachers use, kindergarten through fourth grade, could be called a wisdom character manual.
There is nothing I didn’t like about the material, the layout or the presentation and I especially liked the author’s clarity and focus on Jesus Christ… Full Review: http://tinyurl.com/3dhyz7z
Short little book with 23 lessons for children. Each lesson has a key word from a Biblical text such as listening, meekness, faithfulness, etc. The second half of the book contains further activity, discussion, and application for each lesson. This book would work great for family devotions or children's ministry.
It is a wonderful great book to read and great book to use with kids. (I don't have any children.) I would encourage all the home school parents to get this book and Bible Study teachers too. Wonderful book to teach your kids to be more Christ-Like for His Glory.
