Lucy B. Parker has a problem. Actually, she has a LOT of problems - specifically, everyone else's problems. Lucy's not really quite sure how all of that happened, considering she's usually the one going to other people for advice, but when the advice columnist for her school paper has a little meltdown, Lucy's frister (that's friend + sister), teen superstar Laurel Moses, suggests that Lucy become the new go-to girl for advice! Lucy's not quite sure how that's going to work, considering she's usually the one asking for advice, but with the Sadie Hawkins dance coming up, it seems like everyone in her class needs some help.
Robin Palmer grew up in Massachusetts and New Jersey, and after graduating from Boston University, moved to Hollywood. Starting as an assistant in the television literary department of the William Morris Agency, she quickly moved up the ranks and spent the next decade as a literary agent, producer, and television network executive at Lifetime Television, where she developed over one hundred scripts and oversaw the production of many of the network's original movies.
In 2001, she remembered that she had originally intended to spend her life either as a writer or a toll booth collector (so she could indulge her penchant for spending her days alone reading), but as there are no toll roads in southern California, she decided to give the writing thing a try. Since then, she's written everything from "To Do" lists to screenplays to essays to love letters and, of course, novels.
This is the third novel written by a friend of mine. I enjoyed the story and plot. The book takes place in Mystic, CT so the 'local' references are fun to read about through the author's eyes. It has a well defined beginning to end and all the loose ends are woven together well to complete the story.
Lucy B. Parker is back and just as fun (and funny!) as ever! Tween girls will enjoy and be able to relate to Lucy B.'s worries, struggles, and scrapes - perfect for the girl who's already read everything Judy Blume and Lauren Myracle have to offer!
