I remember liking the first one, but this one was a little hard to get through. With the continuity errors and attempts at teenage talks it just wasn’t flowing well for me. Curious if there was a different editor this time around?

Crazy good story.

What a crazy good continuation in this series. Who knew there was so much going to happen that is totally unexpected. I loved seeing the continued back stories develop to help understand these beloved characters. Roller coaster of emotions bring you through the crazy ride.

realize I gave high marks on Ms Baum's first book A Chance for Charity a few months ago. It was then I asked the author S. L. Baum to send me the sequel as soon as it was released. My 5 Star rating for the first in the series told me this YA Series was better than most and I see my feelings were not wrong.

What a wonderful read for teens and readers of all ages. I mentioned before that the storyline was intricate and compelling. In reading many genres and books and doing reviews, I have read many YA books, but not all of the authors wrote to the intelligence of an adult reader yet kept it for a young adult as well. S.L. Baum, you certainly did accomplish that. Ms Baum had written a wonderful first book for her Immortals and has not disappointed in the second of our story.

Charity, AKA Emily, is an Immortal who relocated with another Immortal couple as her "family". We learn that Charity, nee Emily, is reliving her high school years, again, to keep a low profile for the `family'. They are not vampires, they are Immortals who live long, have extra powers, and want to be left alone to live their lives. Charity meets Lincoln and their attraction is immediate. Emily allows Link to know who and what she is, both past and present. Link knew from the moment he saw Charity...his heart was taken. The twist for this novel was, Hello Mortal...and it is a HE . Link has to prove himself to Emily's immediate and not so immediate family, and that he will be there for her.

We had obstacles to overcome in book one and Ms Baum has begun the second story where the first left off. Charity and Lincoln planned to marry and have set the place to be in Las Vegas. Link now has special needs since the showdown in Book 1. In order to save his life, Charity had to heal him with her blood and now we learn he needs blood to exist. He is not a vampire that we know as yet, but has stronger than human strength, a strong bond with Charity, and the need for blood intake which all delay the wedding plans. Charity's human friends problems also seem to get in the way with Dee and Summer. Finally Charity, Link and `family" take off for Vegas for the Wedding.

This is where our author and her story telling shine. You can feel how this book is plotted out with so many more paths to go down, the intricate pace, the twists and turns. You realize this is what could actually happen given these circumstances. You feel the fear, the excitement and the hope that this could end well. All these players, witches, shifters, Immortals and Vampire all have a part to play. Will there be a wedding??? Will there be a Happily Ever After????

I wanted to get this review out on the Guild site before Christmas. If you want to gift a wonderful addition in the Paranormal Book World of love, hope, and excitement to someone you love...Please use the gift of books to do so, and this would make a great start for a wonderful series. I am sure Ms Baum has a few more stories in this series up her sleeve????

If you told me before I got my Kindle that soon I’d be reading YA paranormal books and enjoying them, I’d have laughed in your face. Glittery vampires aren’t my thing. But with my Kindle I found myself making a conscious effort in branching out, trying genres I’d avoided in the past. What I found is I did enjoy some of those books I wouldn’t have given a second glance in the bookstore. This series has been among my favorites in this genre. Analyzing why has been an interesting exercise.

My first thought was, “because it’s a light read.” But is it really? Yes, the target audience is less than half my age, but their reading ability isn’t that much different. Maybe it is lighter than books full of adult themes and language? For language, that would be true. However, Charity and her extended family deal with plenty of life and death situations; Much more serious than my typical day. Yet, because these are in the realm of fantasy, I think it’s easy to feel the intensity (a good read needs some conflict) without it feeling as real as a storyline that could actually happen in real life. But unlike the actual fantasy genre paranormal characters are often enough like me and operating in the same world as I am, so I can more easily relate to their stories.

The reasons I like this series, specifically, are easier to nail down. The character of Charity is very likeable. Her unique situation of being “older and wiser” yet having to fit in with the high school crowd is an interesting conflict. The dichotomy between having concerns that are often much different than her apparent peers and sometimes not provides plenty of interesting situations. Link’s adaptation to life as a part vampire living and interacting with a group of other paranormals also makes for a good story and should continue doing so as the series progresses.

With "My Link in Time," Baum has taken a situation prone to stress in anyone’s life, a wedding, and cranked up the intensity. Charity and Link experience plenty of conflict while trying to make it to their “fuss free” wedding. It makes for an enjoyable and intense read while still allowing the reader to ignore the “real world.” On some days, that’s the perfect book.

Catherine, James, Oz, Macus, Eve, Lizabelle, Dee and Summer all come back to join Charity and Link and I enjoyed their different personalities.

Link and Charity are trying to cope with Link's new issue of being a vampire (something I'm still not sure I like) and planning their wedding. I laughed over the juice pouch style drink for Link and then immediately got grossed out when I visualized it. I liked how Charity's blood running through Link's veins provided sort of a two-way connection between them that became useful later on in the story.

We get to finally learn Catherine's back story, which ties into the introduction of a new character, Elizabeth.

The foray to Las Vegas for the wedding was a great side trip (I happen to love Vegas) and the conflict that took over kept me reading the pages at rapid speed. Elizabeth was such an interesting character, besides the fact that she was a witch bent on achieving ultimate power. I kept trying to picture Charity going through all those things while wearing her wedding dress. I don't know how she did it!

The reason why I gave this book four stars, instead of five, was because of what happened to Charity at Elizabeth's compound.

I'm going to be completely honest the first book in the Immortal Ones series didn't do it for me. I felt like it was too stale and lacked the necessary elements of an interesting story. HOWEVER, My Link in Time surprised me in the BEST way whereas with A Chance for Charity I didn't want to pick it back up but with My Link in Time I REFUSED TO PUT IT DOWN . I feel like S.L. Baum figured out the missing link to making this an excellent story, no pun intended. WHICH IT WAS. Action, suspense, and mystery held it all together, just as I had pegged Charity's character the author decided to make her even more layered with an even bigger twist of fate. Although less romance I loved the back stories of other characters that integrated itself to show different character's perspectives and pasts. FANTASTIC READ . LOVED IT . TRULY UNIQUE from other reads, the story stuck with me and compelled me to write up a worthy review. I can't wait for the next book in the series to release.

SYNOPSIS:

Charity returns in the sequel My Link in Time newly engaged to Lincoln. Together they plan to have a small wedding in Las Vegas, no problem. Only now Lincoln has a taste for blood. No issue there. Charity invites a few of her friends who just happen to be immortals and witches to her nuptials. That's completely normal. Then Charity's mortal friends end up complicating things for her. Small problem. But when an old witch friend of Catherine's shows up things get strange and Charity's happily-ever-after is abruptly postponed.

I'm breezing through my summer reads and loving every minute of it. I read the first book and then quickly had to read the second book which brings me to My Link in Time. I have always been fascinated by the idea of immortals. I was a fan of the Highlander TV series/movies. I loved Cate Tiernan's Immortal Beloved and now I am loving this series about Charity and her family. Being that Charity and her family are immortal their back story has that aspect of historical fiction. In the first book we learn about Charity and James. This book gives us the back story of Catherine. Her story brings into play a new character, Elizabeth. Charity and Link are preparing for their wedding in Vegas and everything seems to be falling into place but all good stories have conflict and this one surely does. Charity's friend Dee has interrupted Charity's Vegas get away with a little drama of her own. Then Elizabeth,an old friend of Catherine's, is not as friendly as everyone thinks. She has her own agenda that includes Marcus and Charity. The action never ends and you will find yourself getting through this in one sitting. I love these characters. Each one is well written and very likable. As each page is turned the reader learns more and more about each character. We may learn a power they have or what happened in their past or their deep thoughts and feelings. This book is layered with wonderful characters that keep this story moving in the right directions and leaves the reader wanting more of it.

I originally picked up the first book as a free Kindle deal because it was written by an author that wrote another series I've enjoyed (Lush is the first book). This series was written several years before that one, and it shows, but I found it to be enjoyable nonetheless.

I read this about four months ago and don't recall the details that differentiate books 2, 3, and 4, so I'm writing a similar review for all three. Overall, this was a fun read and improved on book 1, and I enjoyed where the series took me. It's definitely better than Twilight, and one of the books has a pretty funny scene referencing that series that made me laugh.

Overall I'd say this is a good light series that's fun to read and better than Twilight. Four stars for the last three books, again I'd prefer 3.5 but the improvements get these rounded up instead of down.

Yeah, I thought things were going way too smoothly in the beginning of this book. I began to doubt that Book Two was going to have what it took to keep this older YA reader interested. Then the, you know what, hits the fan! S. L. Baum continues to build a great Immortals story here. There is still much to learn about these fascinating characters the author has brought to us. Their life's are changing and growing in ways they didn't expect either. I can't wait to hear more about Lulach, Christopher, Cozmo and Lizbelle. And you just know Marcus and Link have more new powers they need to learn about. Charity will always be discovering new abilities, she has no boundaries! This is a great series!

I enjoyed this one more than the first...and if there are more later I'll probably read those too. The love story between Charity and Link didn't freak me out as much, and there's so much going on I kind of forgot about it. I'm still confused about Delilah...it seems like there's something not quite right about her, but I guess not? They mention her several times, that her mind is not right, but it's never expanded on.

The continuation of A Chance for Charity finds Charity about to marry her soulmate. They've already been through a lot of danger and changes, but now Charity is ready to move forward with Lincoln. They decide to marry in Las Vegas, but the trip doesn't run as smoothly as theu anticipated or hoped.

There was a lot of action in this one, and I liked it. Found out more about the supernatural beings. While the ending wasn't really a surprise, it sets up the third book perfectly. I liked it.

This book picks up right after the second one ends. Charity is making plans for her Vegas wedding to Link and couldn't be happier. The real action place in Vegas with the introduction of a new character named Elizabeth. She's a real bitch and what she does is so wrong in so many ways. Charity's "human" friends have a huge role in the action and D is just not right. It all works out in the end and I can't wait for the next.

Sometimes when you read a book in a series you look forward to reading the next book in the series but when you pick it up and it seems like you are reading the first book all over again. I Love paranormal romance but I this one seemed like it was a total replay of the first book. The characters bored me and made me really think that Charity went through the same thing in the end that she went through in the beginning.

I love this series. The witches, immortals, vampires, shapeshifters, and now The Caster! Charity's Las Vegas wedding isn't going quite as planned. Add in a kidnapping, and a witch bent on taking powers from others, and things can't go anywhere but wrong. I love how the story twisted and turned, and I can't wait to see how Charity deals with all these new changes. I would recommend this author to others.

I just finished this book and absolutely loved it. It was well written and I loved the fact that the heroine is a strong, albeit old fashioned woman. The book flowed well and I didn’t have to skip parts which I really did love. I especially liked the fact that the author took someone who would normally be considered a villain and turned him into a good guy.

Would I read this again?

I am in love with this series.
Another sleepless night cause I just could not put this book down.
It was interesting and surprising all the way through, the fact that you knew it was all gonna end good, but not the way you thought was, making it would made it a page turner for me.
I hope Baum is busy writing more of these cause I am hooked. ;)

I've been stalling to read this book for a while. The first book has been one of my favorite reads of 2014. It was amaaazing!!

This was a great read. Very detailed and unique. The characters were depicted thoroughly and with a flourish.

I really recommend this if you liked the first book. The romance is *sighs* swoon-worthy.

Much better than the first book in the series! Again, loved that it is a clean story, while still having decent romance. Also, the characters are fun to follow as they interact and evolve through the plot. Another quick, fun, clean read!
