Cada uno de estos quince relatos hace eco de la particularidad narrativa de la que ha sido testigo la literatura contemporánea del Perú, cuyo reconocimiento, a nivel mundial, no se ha hecho esperar. La diversidad de tendencias que esta antología recoge nos permite experimentar lo urbano desde una mirada mordaz; la frustración de los conflictos humanos; el Rocoto relleno; el Hades; la fantasía de la niñez y la amargura del presente, un mosaico de frustraciones familiares donde no podemos evitar vernos representados. Daniel Alarcón, Gustavo Rodríguez, Carlos Yushimito, Alexis Iparraguirre, Fernando Iwasaki, Susanne Noltenius, Santiago Roncagliolo, Claudia Salazar, Juan Manuel Chávez, Enrique Planas, Katia Adaui, Carlos Herrera, Fernando Ampuero, Guillermo Niño de Guzmán y Gaby Cevasco son los autores que hacen posible esta antología. Algunos de ellos la verán nacer en la FILBO 2014. El prólogo del libro estuvo a cargo del escritor colombiano Miguel Ángel Manrique.

Daniel Alarcón’s fiction and nonfiction have been published in The New Yorker, Harper's, Virginia Quarterly Review, Salon, Eyeshot and elsewhere. He is Associate Editor of Etiqueta Negra, an award-winning monthly magazine based in his native Lima, Peru. His story collection, War by Candlelight, was a finalist for the 2006 PEN/Hemingway Foundation Award, and the British journal Granta recently named him one of the Best Young American Novelists. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including a Fulbright Scholarship (2001), a Whiting Award (2004), and a Guggenheim Fellowship (2007). He lives in Oakland, California, and his first novel Lost City Radio was published in February 2007.
