Caillou no longer wants to wear diapers – even at night. Caillou knows now when he has to use the potty. Very soon, he hopes to use the big toilet and to no longer wear diapers at night.
A parent’s wish to have their child totally potty trained is not necessarily in line with the physiological capacities of their child. This book helps to understand that it is not parents who potty train their child but rather the child who does it on their own.
I loved seeing Caillou move one step closer to independence with regard to toileting. His family is always so supportive. That is huge. This entire learning series is such a wondrous help with littles. I absolutely adore these books!
Caillou has been one of my favorite children's characters, and I have read a handful of Cailou books to my nieces and nephew. This book in particular I have read to my niece while she was potty training. I love the story line of this book and the illustrations are very bright and vibrant.

. . Potty Training is most parent's worst nightmare. How do you encourage your child wake up to use the bathroom at night. Caillou has finally mastered the use of the toilet during the day and feel like a big boy now and wants to be able to stop wearing to bed at night as well. Each child develops at their own pace and some accomplish this milestone feat faster than others. Something Caillou learn in No More Diapers. The trick is to encourage even as the child feels that he will never get it right. This is a lovely book to share with our child so that he or she understands it is not an overnight process so don't give up at little setbacks. Keep encouraging them read them the story often and let see that it will happen. The artistic illustrations are bold and colorful. They will easily hold their attention as will the simple text. My rating is 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.
This great companion book to Caillou, Potty Time (board book edition): Potty Training Series, STEP 1 goes the next step to night training. When Caillou is potty trained during the day he gets to wear his underwear, but at night he still wears a diaper. Daddy gets him a special seat for the toilet so he does not need to use his little potty anymore. He does not want to wear diapers at night so needs to be able to wake up to use the toilet. Daddy plugs in a nightlight so Caillou will be able to see to get to the bathroom at night. He does not learn right away and still has some accidents, but eventually, he wakes up and keeps his diaper dry at night so he can wear underpants all the time.
Night training takes longer especially with boys so not only is this a good book to share with your little one, but it will also help parents to be patient and less worried about the progress of their child.
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I always love the look of these Caillou books - they are bright and colourful and the illustrations appeal to little ones with plenty to keep them occupied with the page while you read the words to them.
I previously reviewed Caillou : Potty Time and thought it could be a great teaching aid for parents wanting to potty train their children. This follow on book however fell short for me. While the illustrations are still lovely and interesting, the actual content of the book seemed aimed more at the parents. Yes, it is a message that I would like to teach my children, but I'm not sure that this book is going to help me do that. In fact, my daughter prefers to look at the pictures and we make up our own story that is easier for her to understand.
This seems to be more a book to teach parents to have patience with their kid in potty training, than to really help the kids. My two children also found the drawings to be too clean. They were disappointed that there was neither any pee nor poo to be seen.
haven't read a book in the Caillou series besides this one. not sure why this character is popular. but if it helps with potty training or reading I guess it's okay
