About the author

Born in 1955, in Mexico City. An illustrator, designer, painter and editor, he is also a design teacher at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, in Mexico City. His illustrations have been published in The New York Times Book Review, Libération in Paris, La Vanguardia in Barcelona, and El Mundo del siglo XXI in Madrid, as well as in the cultural magazine El Malpensante (Bogotá, Colombia) and in Letras Libres, the leading literary magazine in Mexico, where he is also the illustration editor.
