I only had the time to read the first story in the trilogy DECK THE HALLS, due to work commitments, but I really enjoyed it! The story involved a kidnap plot, close to home, for Regan Reilly, Private eye and her sleuth writer mum. I liked Mary and Carol Higgins, light hearted writing style, that's all I personally require from my yearly Christmas story reading. As the other two stories also involve the same set of characters, I'll look forward to reading them again this Christmas. I've read a previous story by Mary Higgins Clark TWO LITTLE GIRL'S IN BLUE, which I can also recommend.

These 3 books are written by Mary and her daughter Carol, coauthored between 2000-2004. This is their Christmas collection. And, thus, not even PG. I like her for her simple but intelligent plots. Yeah, Alvira is there. Plots are over simple-something that a generation fed on CSI/ FX could write in their sleep. He Sees You When You're Sleeping is the only with semblance of a story. I read all 3 'coz one could run through the books easily, and din't regret reading them- her style is such.

Read if you are a fan.

These are just for fun. I like to speed through them at the holidays. I love the characters of Alvirah and Willy Meehan, lottery winners turned amateur sleuths. "Deck the Halls" was recently made into a made for TV movie, starring Kathy Najimy as Alvirah.
