Aiden Turner drowns himself in whiskey and shames a God he doesn't believe in after losing his wife and son in a tragic house fire. He struggles to hold on to his relationship with his daughter, Bri, as they deal with their grief and try to find a way to move on with their lives. Aiden finds comfort in a rekindled friendship with Jane Gladwell, an old friend he used to play music with when they were younger. Their connection could change Aiden in more ways than he expected, but it could come at the expense of losing his daughter. Will Aiden sacrifice his own happiness to save his relationship with Bri, or will his battle with alcohol get the best of him?
A heartbreaking story filled with family drama and grief, Heartstrings will pull you into Aiden's struggle to find happiness and protect the ones he loves.
Heartstrings is a beautifully written novel with meaningful life messages and a captivating storyline. I thoroughly enjoyed it and experienced all the emotions with the characters. I highly recommend giving this book a try. It’s an easy read for summer and reminds you of what’s most important in life. I can’t wait to see what other novels Robert Plant puts out into the world! I loved his writing!
Plant spins together a beautiful story about loss, grief, and love in Heartstrings. From character development, to motifs, to the unpredictable unraveling of the plot, he keeps the reader trying to predict what will happen next, whilst also contemplating their personal grapples with these three universal phenomena. Heartstrings is a fantastic read all around; you will not want to put it down!
This novel was beautiful, both the story and the writing caught my attention. I cried tears of joy and sorrow with the characters throughout the book. While there are a lot of emotions that come up, it is an easy read that you won’t want to put down!! I definitely recommend to all readers!
Robert did an excellent job with Heartstrings. He navigated the world of loss, family, and second chances beautifully. I enjoyed reading this story and look forward to reading his next novel.
This was a great book about love and rebirth after tragedy. Loved the roller coaster of emotions of grief and loss to love, family and relationships. You won’t regret it.
