Good book. About a girl who goes from being rich to being poor. She is treated badly once she has no money by the owner of the school she is in. But a new person moves in next door and takes care of her.

I think it's a very good book for children. As a teenager I read this book I feel like it's kind of simple and easy to understand and the meaning for thinking. It's not too hard to conclude about the meaning of the book. It talk about the little girl is Sarah and she is not a princess but it has a very good sentence I like is " Sometimes I do pretend I am a princess. I pretend I am a princess, so that I can try and behave one". And then her father died, can she behave like a princess longer? I think it's the most important question around the book. It's not my favorite but I recommend to read it once because the book show the way people should do when they have trouble with their life and someone may need time to understand this book

I am glad I read this classic, as I had seen the Shirley Temple movie many times. I relived the movie as I read the book, and recall the meanness of Miss Minchin, and the other girls at the school treating Sarah with disdain. It was interesting to read the changes in the second part of the book, and found it heartbreaking, but surprisingly better. This book is not just for children, but also adults who remember the movie, and dreams of their childhood.

A little Princess - This is definitely not your typical sunshine and butterflies children's classic. But it teaches valuable lessons on empathy and the power of imagination. I'm glad I read it even though it wasn't always enjoyable. It was certainly wholesome (minus the bits on colonialism).

Beautiful storytelling that definitely deserves its five-star rating. Love the character developement of Sara Crewe and the kindhearted and caring Mr. Carrisford. It’s such a daughter-father bond between the two.

Have read all three. Love The Little Princess. In the book, Sarah is more transformed by her experience of poverty than one sees in the Shirley Temple movie. A delight.

Mary Lennox became an orphan at the age of ten when a cholera epidemic killed everyone in her family in India even though she was never being cared with her parents busied themselves with parties and entertainments. Mary was sent to live at Misselthwaite Manor in England with her Uncle Craven. Uncle Craven went off traveling the world after the death of his wife, so Mary was left alone by herself in the big house. There was only one person who was left to attend to Mary’s, maid Martha was a friendly girl who entertain Mary with her stories of her family and their own town.
Martha’s tale of the locked garden attracted Mary’s attention that she spend so much time looking for it and called it her secret garden. This change in her offers her a lot of friendship, with the old gardener Ben Weatherstaff and Dickon, Martha’s brother. There was another secret in the household that her Uncle Carven actually have a son who he has rejected as the cause of his wife’s death. There of them became friends and together they restore the garden to its former beauty. When Uncle Craven returns, he find himself a health, wonderful son, a dear niece and a beautifully restore garden.
What I like about this book was that it both shows the fictional and realistic side of the world that a child is live in. The story gives the child a ray of hope at the end help her walk out from the desperation and loneness. The ending was the most wonderful thing that could happen to Mary after all her hard work and her determination after she tried to find a new self of her.
I highly recommend it to people who are interested in reading fantasy because this is a great book that everybody will be enjoy to read it.

Sara and her father go looking for a doll that can be with Sara when her dad is gone at war. They go to a bunch of stores until they finally found Emily. She was a beautiful china doll with jet black hair and lovely curls. Sara and her dad went and got a wardrobe as big as Sara's for Emily.
Finally, the day came for Sara to go to the school. her first lesson was French. Sara really wanted to tell Ms. Minchin that she already learned French and she could speak it fluently. When the teacher came in and Sara started speaking to him in fluent french. He was absolutely impressed and he thought that Sara could speak better french than Ms. Minchin.

One day Sara heard a terribly loud screaming that was coming from down stairs. It was Lottie the youngest girl in the school. She was only four years old and the reason she was in the school was because her mom her died when she was born and her father did not know what to do with her. Sara wen out of her room and went downstairs and into the room where Lottie was screaming. She asked if she could try and calm her down. So Amelia Ms Minchins sister and assistant crept out of the room. Sara sat down next to Lottie and just stared at her. Lottie looked up at Sara and Sara said, "Why were you crying?" "I have no mommy!!" Lottie shouted. "I don't either." Sara said calmly. "I want a mommy." said Lottie. "Then I will be your mommy." said Sara. "Really?" said Lottie. "Yes." said Sara. The two of them went upstairs and played with Emily. Sara got Lottie ready for dinner.

This book is about this little girl that doesn't have a father. The father is really rich, and this little girl gets whatever she wants. Later on, she gets sent to this horrible school, which you have your own room and you have to live in the school. The room was small, ugly, and full with bugs, for breakfast, she only has a hard bread. She was skinnier, and skinnier. Suddenly, on her birthday, something terrible happened. Read this wonderful book to know what happened next.
I really liked this book that I gave it FIVE STARS. If there were one hundred stars to fill, I would give it one hundred stars, it's wonderful. It is interesting, touching, and a happy book. You could even learn some french in this book(but I did not learn any french because I was too lazy to remember the french words) THIS BOOK IS IN THE LIBRARY, SO YOU HAVE TO BORROW THIS BOOK, ONCE YOU FINISHED THIS BOOK, YOU WILL THINK THIS IS THE BEST BOOK YOU'VE EVER READ!!!

I loved these books! The only one in this set I haven't read was Anne of Green Gables and that was because I was so young and more irresponsible and so I lost it (I still have no clue how) before I could read that one. I still plan to read the book though. The Secret Garden and A Little Princess are two of my favorite books of all time and they're just so charming. I remember this edition came with a charm locket, and I loved it so much. Also, I don't know if it's because I owned the books with these covers, but for some reason, even after I read and lost (yes, despite reading 2 of them I eventually lost the other two as well unfortunately) them I always liked these covers of the books the best. Anyway I personally recommend these books to anyone remotely interested.

This book touched me, deep inside and I’m sure it has touched many people over the years. It's not a hard reading book but sometimes good books aren't. I only read books once, but this book I read about three times. This book shows the unmistakable love between a father and daughter. Sara Crewe goes to a boarding school in London while she goes to fight in the war. She seems just like a princess. She has beautiful clothing toys and manners. Then all of a sudden her father is said to be dead and she is penniless. Now she must work for the school and sleep in the attic. This story shows how even thought she was told over and over again her father was dead she was poor she could still be a princess on the inside...

Such a cute story although present day, Sara Crewe would be diagnosed with dissociated personality disorder and medicated. I also love the movie that came out in the 90's where a lot of liberties were taken with story, but I think in a good way. This is so much darker than that movie almost like the complete opposite of the Secret Garden, but I prefer the big dramatic ending of the movie. Plus, I think an English-Indian guy adopting a little rich girl now so they can be rich together would be deemed creepy. In both versions Miss Minchen gets hers in equally dramatic and satisfying ways. I won't spoil it since I know Shandea is DYING to read it.

I LOVED this book! It took me a while to pick up the book after it being on the shelf for a few years after my sister got it for her birthday, but then I had nothing to read and so I finally picked it up and read it. I loved it though. By page fifty, I couldn't turn pages fast enough! It was great. This is the type of book that you kind of skim by in the library, but The Little Princess is really good and if you haven't, you should read it.

Im reading this book and its really good its about this little girl who has never met her mom she died when she was born.Her dad and her love each other very much but he has to go to Ienda in some war and she gose to this all girls school and she really dose not like her teacher i should stop I don't want to tell all the story.=)

You know I liked this as a child, but struggled reading it as an adult, especially in the begining and without the suspense of not knowing what would happen. However, I perservered because I have to read it for a class I'm taking in the fall, and it wasn't so bad. I think I will recommend it to my daughter, hopefully it will make her think about how to act ;).

I read this book.This book is amazing. I like this book. I read this book when i was 12 years old. This book is for childrens. I was expecting it to be really boring but it's a fantastic book. Before i read this book i thought the Aladin books were better. Everyone says it's a great book.

I honestly don't remember the whole story because I read it a long time ago. I just remember that there was a lot of french in it and that my favorite scene was when the main character gave away her bread to someone more needy that she was. Yeah that's all I remember but the cover is WAY to pink.

A cute little girl cut off from her fortune. It's about a girl who has a rich dad that dies. She was at a private school and it was her birthday! I feel bad for the poor girl. Even if it was just a story.
