Romancing Eureka: We Found It !

Rate this book
“Romancing Eureka” has a unique travelogue format that unfolds as a story set in 1905, with its main characters being two sisters who visit Eureka Springs for their first time and they meet a young man who willingly offers companion services by escorting the damsels to many beautiful and interesting venues. These excursions mostly take place on horseback, which was the customary mode of travel at that time. Thus providing a means of capturing the magnificence of the sojourn as well as reaching their planned destinations. Ellis artfully injects color photographs of current day scenes in order to best effect a contrast in his use of many period photos that reflect upon the early 1900s. The seven day visit to Eureka Springs describes the magnificent pearls of Nature that were eagerly sought in the form of the rivers, creeks, springs, lakes, ponds, falls, caves, cliffs, hollows, bridle paths, walking trails, and abounding fantastic rock formations. — And, which are still sought out today by thousands of tourists.
