They trained Sara Murphy to kill. They programmed her to forget everything. She was supposed to be the perfect patsy, until something went wrong…

When Sara wakes up on the roof of a Union Square department store with a sniper rifle in her arms and the body of a political activist in the street below, she can’t even remember how she got there. A mysterious stranger calls and instructs her to turn herself in. He warns that her life has been erased and she’ll never see her family again if she doesn’t cooperate. Sara is terrified, and in a desperate attempt to sort out her past and prove her innocence, she goes on the run.

Sara quickly finds herself one of America’s most wanted criminals. The police and the FBI are convinced she’s a known terrorist. The black ops team that framed her is out to kill her before she can expose them. Her only hope lies in rookie FBI agent Brandy Jackson. Unfortunately, Brandy and her partner have every reason to believe Sara is the real killer and they’re being pressured from above to close the case as quickly as possible.

As the evidence mounts, Sara even begins to question her own memories. What if she’s not the dedicated mother and hardworking attorney she thinks she is?

What if she really is the killer?

Omar (drug addict) was inside the apartment with a revolver pressed up against Jennifer ‘s (Omar’s GF) temple.
SA Brandy Jackson (A/A, Iraq War vet) & SA Smith (f) were trying to curtail the problem.
SA Smith had been shot.
Mount Sutro apartment (5th. Ave). Matt (Brandy’s husband) greeted her when she got home.
Beijing, China-San Francisco, CA. International Airport. Michael Turner (Greenpeace activist) hailed a cab from Bob Clarke (Jamaican, Black & Yellow Cab Co. cabbie).
Bob latched on to the briefcase after ending Michael’s life.
Bay Bridge. A motorcycle pulled up just as Bob took his own life.

Off the driver went with the briefcase.
FBI SA Brandy Jackson (A/A, 28, retired US Army, Sonoma St. U), & FBI SA Smith arrived at the crime scene.
SIU Chief Inspector John Lee (Asian, SFPD) was there to greet the 2 at the Bay Bridge.
Senator Wendy Paolini (38+), was meeting Konrad Richter (38+), at San Francisco Tea Gardens.
Alicia (law student, P&S intern) informed Sarafina “Sara” Murphy (lawyer, Pritchard & Stark law firm) of her schedule: the Thompsons at 9:00 AM, the Kennedys at 10:00 AM, & 2 phone conferences, then lunch at the Lounge, with Steve (boss), & Jim.
SF, CA. Union Square. Commander Stryker (50, Project Mourningbird op), & Konrad (PMO) were now in place & had spotted their target.
What went wrong with this mission?
FBI SAC Ben Ashcroft had called FBI SA Jackson into his office to find out about the murder case.
Beth Peters was holding the rally.
Chief Inspector Lee showed FBI SA Jackson the body of Fortress (A/A, musician, political activist), & the sniper rifle used to kill him.

What was Senator Paolini (Echo Logos Systems ELS CEO, board of directors) up to?
Will the murder cases get solved?

I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written political thriller book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great political thriller movie, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.

Non stop action!
This book opens up with San Francisco rookie Special Agent, Brandy Jackson, in a stand-off with a drugged shooter holding a hostage. The situation escalates as her partner Agent Smith is shot by Omar, leaving Agent Jackson on her own to face the shooter. The shocker is, the hostage is actually the girlfriend and accomplice of Omar. Jennifer attacks Agent Brandy Jackson with a broom handle while laughing hysterically. Omar and Jennifer were high and planning to have some fun with the “stupid cops”. I won’t tell how this beginning episode ends, but later Agent Jackson is awarded the lead in the next case, her probation is over! She is ready to prove herself ready to be treated with the respect due her experience and training.

Agent Jackson is called to the scene of a murder-suicide on the lower section of the Bay Bridge. The crime is very strange, especially when witnesses report a third man on a motorcycle coming up and taking a briefcase from the man who had committed suicide. SFPD would like to close the case quickly and move on, but Agent Jackson sees more than the surface events. She feels there is more in the underlying events which will connect more people together in a conspiracy...but conspiracy for what?

Sarafina Murphy is the next major character in this book. You wonder if she is hallucinating as the scene unfolds. Something is wrong in her house, something is not quite right with how she is seeing the present. It gets more involved as her day progresses. She is confused, hunted, attacked, and she does not understand what has happened to her family. Sara is tough and wants to find answers to why she wakes up on a rooftop with a rifle close to her hands...and a man is dead in the park across from the building where she wakes.

Now you add in a corrupt senator with a hidden agenda, a famous rock star holding a concert as a political rally, and two other assassins. All of these people have their own secret purposes for the acts they are committing, while trying to stay alive.

I enjoyed this book from the time I started reading on through to the ending. The author has written a suspense thriller with political overtones. The different characters are woven through the story in an easy manner, even when you add in the acts of hypnotic mind control.
Great job!

When I got the book, the premise of the whole novel was very interesting enough for me to pick it up and read. I was not mistaken at all. I am so glad that I have picked this enthralling book that is so intriguingly called Erased. What is it about? Why is it entitled like that? And what is erased or will be erased in this novel?

Apparently, the novel is about a woman named Sara Murphy who thought she was living a good life as a lawyer and was happily in love with his boyfriend when suddenly she found herself awakened on a roof with a gun and a dead activist. Then, the thrill starts. Why was she there? Why does it seem that she does not remember anything? Why has been her memory erased somehow?

Erased is a very easy read. Action-packed and full of surprises, it is a book that one can enjoy in one sitting because it totally is gripping and exciting. I read it in three hours maximum and I rarely do that. I think this book is well-written and there are a lot of well-researched details. Although the plot may have been explored and written before, this book certainly showed another angle and its own unique way of portraying brainwashed assassins and political conspiracies.

I would definitely look forward for more books by this author. Or I hope Erased will have a sequel. Whatever it may be, I recommend this book for those who like adventure. This book is like a reasonably good action film and has lots of potential for a series or even a real movie.

Thank you for the pleasure of reading this!

If you like cover-ups, blackmail, etc, you’ll love this story.

Sara thought she had a wonderful life, loving husband, beautiful daughter and great job, until she woke up on a rooftop next to a rifle and watched a man below be killed. She had no clue how she got there, or what she was doing. All she knows is that she did not pull the trigger, someone else did, but the crowd below saw her up above. Now she has become the number one suspect in a man's murder.

Enter Agent Brandy Jackson. An FBI agent looking to prove she is worthy to work for the FBI, and to prove her gut feeling Sara is innocent. Add a few professional assassin’s, Stryker and Konrad, into the mix, and Senator Paolini. What does a senator have to do with this mess?

Who do you trust? Who do you believe? Where do you turn? Sara is running for her life. Can Brandy help prove her innocence, or will Sara be eliminated?

The story is a bit confusing to start, numerous characters of all sorts, some of which are short lived. Once the story gets going with the major characters, it becomes much easier to follow. Do you believe the government has secret agencies? Is mind control possible? If you didn’t before, after reading this, you will begin to wonder about such things. Great action, drama and suspense to keep you reading, and the sympathy you feel for Sara will tug at you to help her.

Erased: A Brandy Jackson Thriller by Jordan Marshall is a great read.
Brady Jackson, one of the main characters, is a complex character. Some of the struggles she deals with many women deal with on different levels every day. She struggles with a balance between work and her personal life.
This story is action packed, and had my attention from the opening line.
If you are a conspiracy fan or a believer in “the government is watching and hiding thing from citizens,” then this is a great read for you.
Sarafina Murphy is another very interesting character in this novel. She faces being brainwashed, chased by an group of individuals who want her dead, the police are after her, and she cannot remember what happened to her family, or where they might be. She is also completely confused as to why everything is happening to her. This very smart lawyer must piece together the information she is able to uncover as she basically stumbles through this story while on the run from the police and the other group that is chasing her.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys mysteries, action, or adventure stories.

I loved this book. It was a very fast-paced story. It gave me a lot to think about as I was reading it. I love a book that makes me think. It is a mystery and I found it to be very interesting. It was an easy read.

The story is about a woman who is an assassin but does not realize that she is an assassin. She is sent to kill a man who is causing problems for a senator. When she fails she is hunted by the police, FBI and the people who sent her to kill the man. She finds out who she is and what happened to her. This allows for the book to end in a really interesting way.

I loved this book. I had trouble putting it down even when I had other things I needed to be doing. I won this as a goodreads giveaway and loved it. I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good mystery.

Jordan Marshall's book "Erased" grabbed me from the first sentence and did not let me go until I finished it. It is a very fast-paced mystery story with lots of twists and turns. Characters and plot are well constructed with balanced good-bad ratio.
The center idea of this book is the premise that if you don't help yourself nobody will. On that premise whole mystery of this page-turner thriller just builds up. Story is vivid and in constant motion. It gave me the feeling as if I was watching a movie and not reading a book. A Manchurian candidate idea put in CSI surroundings is not new, but the way Marshall led the story and character dialogs, short and dynamic sentences with interesting sense of humor; created a whole new mystery road.
I love this book, and I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good mystery, too.

In Erased, Jeramy Gates creates a fast-paced thriller with an intricate plot that will please most readers, and particularly those who enjoy government conspiracy theories. The characters are interesting and the plot careens along like a good roller coaster all the way to the finish, with well-written prose that enhance the narrative. This is a fast and engrossing read, despite its flaws.
If you start reading this book and find yourself confused and unable to figure out who the characters are and how they relate to each other after the first few chapters, keep reading. Things will start to sort out and you’ll be happy that you didn’t give up. But, it is not easy to figure out the many characters in the early chapters. The reader also has to get used to the author’s somewhat unusual literary device of re-telling the same scene from the different perspective of a different character, so that the reader is covering the same temporal ground twice and it takes a little while to figure that out and adjust to it as a reader, but in the end it is an interesting format that does add texture to the narrative.
There are some gaping plot holes in this story, not the least of which is the bouncing ball (briefcase) that we are trying to follow and which disappears and reappears without much explanation about where it has been. The very beginning of the complex plot includes a courier who is killed off in an early chapter (no surprise there) by a cab driver without any explanation about how this particular cab driver could possibly have arranged to pick the courier up at the San Francisco airport so that he could fulfill his part in the drama. There is also another pick-up much later in the story that is important to the plot and which seems impossibly coincidental and is not explained by the author.
Meanwhile, the central character, Sarah Murphy, is described in lush detail and the reader genuinely cares about what happens to her. She turns out to be more plucky and resourceful than anyone expected (and she’s a lawyer, so it’s nice to see a lawyer portrayed in a heroic way). The peripheral characters are less well formed, but still interesting.
This is an enjoyable read and great for a summer weekend at the beach. Nothing too overly politically heavy-handed, despite some opportunities, which is good. No deep meaning, but lots of fun and excitement. Don’t think too hard – just keep reading.

[****Spoiler warning – stop here if you’re concerned*****]

– the main plot premise of the story is that Sara was kidnapped and brainwashed in a Manchurian Candidate kind of way and ends up acting upon post-hypnotic suggestion and is supposed to be the patsy in a plot to assassinate a rap star who has commissioned a documentary film that will expose terrible conditions in a Chinese manufacturing plant owned by powerful American interests. The black ops agents who set up the elaborate scheme are using Sara to disguise their intentions, which is why this otherwise unassuming lawyer is suddenly caught up in the grand conspiracy and all the action of the story. It’s a bit implausible to think that this kind of mind control could really work as described, or that the black ops assassins would go through all the trouble to use it rather than just kill people themselves (as they do plenty of in the story). But, that’s the plot device and so we suspend reality enough to buy into it and then let the plot go from there. I’m fine with that, and I thoroughly enjoyed the writing and the story despite all the holes and despite the dubious premise.]

Gripping from first paragraph to last.

I couldn't out this book down. Very tightly written. I would like to see the survivor come out of retirement in some future book. It could make a good series.

“I have insomnia. I write. I write because I have insomnia. Do I have insomnia because I'm a writer?
No, I'm pretty sure it's the g-damned streetlight outside my bedroom window.”

Pretty straightforward right..? That’s our author, Jordan Marshall.

Well, street light or not, the sleepless nights author went through have finally paid off with his book “Erased”. It is a mystery cum thriller book while author Jordan has written in variety of genres including science fiction, fantasy, and paranormal.

The plot line was enough for me to pick up this book, and all I can say is ‘I enjoyed this book thoroughly’. The story is about Sarafina Murphy who is an attorney at San Francisco. She has a perfect life and a family. But, they took her family. They stole her identity. They framed her for murder and now they want her dead. And this ‘they’ in question is a group of covert Black Ops.., but why would they do that? What Sara did to get mixed up in this life and death situation? And with that question; the Title of book come into play, “Erased”.
Sara’s been told, that her entire past was a lie, and Sara begins to wonder if it's true, so who is Sara? Is she, a perfectly trained assassin who has been programmed to forget everything? Or just another victim of a murderous plot which has its roots all the way to Washington D.C., Well that’s to be seen in the book. And not to mention about Agent Brandy (you will know once you read the book :) no more spoilers… by the way, Brandy is the MC of this book, so something to look forward to)

Well critically, this book is by far one of the best books on government conspiracy and spy stories in general. With its 300+ pages, it was not only a well described book but also action packed one. Book has lot of things to unveil as the story unfolds.

On concluding notes I would say that, it was an easy read with action on almost every page. A very well written book, where you (as a reader) can say, “Author did his homework”. This book scores 4 of 5 for sheer brilliance of writing and execution.

Outstanding!

"Erased" is a great story with strong characters, a rollercoaster plot and more plot twists than Alice in Wonderland. I'm not one who peeks at the ending, so I kept those pages turning to see what would happen next. You need to read the first few chapters to meet the cast before they come together to form the story.

Sara Murphy is a lawyer who's out of touch with reality. As she leaves the gym one day to meet her colleagues for lunch, something happens to divert her. When she comes to her senses, she's on the roof of a building with a sniper rifle. She hears a gunshot and looks from the roof to see that a rock star/human rights activist has been shot during a rally.

This is a situation where Sara doesn't know what's going on, who she can trust or who wants her dead. I didn't see any flaws in the plot; the whole thing fit together like a puzzle.

I did find 16 errors in the book. One that was repeated was using "meridian" for "median."

I'll be watching for more from this author.

I received this book through the giveaway. It arrived last week the day after I had finished rereading one of my favourite series so, between books, I started reading right away.

While it didn't turn out to be one of my all time faves, I still found the book to be enjoyable and easy to read. Full of action and a hint of mystery it kept me interested and kept me reading late into the night.
