Abel Mick has done a lot of dangerous things in his line of work, but he’s still not sure how this job fell in his lap.
He’s not a model. He’s especially not a shirtless, romance book cover model.
And yet somehow, Abel finds himself doing PR events with the newest chart-topping author who hit it big so fast she can’t keep up with the fame and the requirements that go with it. But his job isn’t to help her with that either.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and it definitely won’t be the last. The characters are well developed and the storyline is intriguing and entertaining. Abel and Nadia had this undeniable chemistry. Nadia‘s team is keeping a secret from her and it could be a deadly one. Can Abel get close enough to her for it to make a difference?

She loves to write but doesn’t want to have to deal with the world around her. Now that she has a publishing contract, she doesn’t have to worry about the marketing, selecting cover models, or checking her own mail. Nadia Wells is a woman that has no filter, she says what comes to her mind, she has just made it big with her new book that was published by a publishing company and has signed her up for more books to come. However, there is someone that isn’t happy with her new book or her success. Her publishing company has requested that a bodyguard be hired to protect her at her upcoming signings, but she’s unaware that’s what he’s there for. She believes he's her new cover model.
Abel Mick is out of his comfort zone. He’s a man that protects, not models. His first meeting with the author could’ve gone better, but when they start spending time together and he sees what she looks like when she’s promoting her work, he’s instantly on board with being her cover model. He just wishes he could do more to find out where the threat is coming from. Will he be able to protect her and keep her safe, or will the threat at the Motorcycles, Mafia, and Mayhem event be her last?
I liked this book. Nadia is a bit scatter brained, and definitely in her own world, but she’s smart, strong, and very independent. Abel and Nadia are not a couple that seem to fit, but he likes her little quirks, and they are actually a perfect match. I love that these books have included the MMM event so far. The fact that these two are underestimated in their strength, knowledge, and lives makes the story better when they prove it through taking down the threat and showing compassion towards those that were caught up in the drama unexpectedly doing something that they weren’t really prepared to do. This was my first read of a book by Desiree Lefawn. I give the book a 4-star review.

Desiree Lafawn is a new to me author and is one I will definitely be adding to my TBR author list. This is book two in the shared world for the Mayhem Makers series. It was fast paced and over way to quick.
This is Nadia and Abel’s story and it’s definitely steamy and entertaining. Nadia is an author who was just picked up by a publishing company and her first book published by them was one that met intense criticism and had some fans unhappy. Abel is a bodyguard posing as Nadia’s new cover model for her next three book series. These two have an instant connection with hot chemistry. They are both hilarious and hold back nothing when it comes to speaking their minds. Their story is definitely a must read.
This book was a mix of danger, action, steam, lies, secrets, betrayal, and so much more to include a HEA. Recommend this book for sure and looking forward to reading more by Desiree.

Abel & Nadia
He wasn't a model let alone a romance book cover model. But he'd do whatever the job called for to protect his client-or in the case protect the author assigned by the client. First Impressions! Not so good and considering he'd just dealt with being the model part of the job he was in no mood.
That would change!
This is a unique short story with characters you'll love. As with all shorter stories, it lacks a bit in some areas but then I enjoy a short after reading longer complex stories. The characters will grab you and hold on. There's steam, villains, and all the parts of a good one.

Where can I sign up for a hot bodyguard like this? This story was great. I couldn't put it down. It was one of those you just had to devour in one one sitting. Are you a can of mushroom sooup or are you a hot beef stew? That line took me out. Give me beef stew any day. The suspense wass pretty good. I should have picked up on the culprit. The refrence to the Boris and Natasha kidnapping had me rolling. The writing was great. There was humor, mystery, spicy bits and some cool love. I can't wait to read more of this author. You've got a new fan here.

This is the first book I've read from Desiree Lafawn. It was so much fun to read. Nadia and Abel just click. Nadia is all over the place with her thoughts and her daily living she sometimes forgets to eat. Her bag she carries everywhere has everything but the kitchen sink in there. Abel is hired to protect Nadia by posing as a book cover model. They are the two most unlikely people to get together.

A fun read with some suspense
This was a fun read with a bit of suspense. Nadia comes across as scatterbrained but she is smarter than anyone gives her credit for. Going undercover as a book cover model Abel finds he is attracted to that so called scatterbrained woman/ writer. There’s some fun banter between the two of them and when she is threatened and taken he will do anything to save her. But ho turns out to be h the one threatening her surprises both of them.

I really enjoyed this book. It is short but it had so much impact. It made you wonder who it is. I couldn't put book down once started.
I loved Abel and Nadia together, they started off on wrong foot. But they start getting to know each other when stuck together. Abel is trying everything to keep Nadia safe. Nadia gives Abel purpose.

Desiree is a new writer to me. I grabbed her book not knowing what I was getting myself into. But I quickly fell in love with her writing and characters. This was an enjoyable book from beginning to end. Characters were gripping with quite the storyline to give the reader something to enjoy. I wont give away details as this is a book you should just grab and dive into.

An okay read that starts off strongly although I think an undercover bodyguard would have had better idea of expectations on his modelling role. That said book flowed nicely and liked the quirkiness of both characters. Felt the ending could have been a bit tidier. Okay read.

I really enjoyed this book. Nadia and Able meet when he has to be her bodyguard. These two just complemented eachother in every way. It had all the elements I love chemistry, love and a little suspense.

Quirky and mysterious, with a lot of didn't see that coming moments. Very relatable to readers going to a book signing. I have questions about the models, do they really do that?!?!?! Great read for me.

This was a delicious tale in the Mayhem Makers series, and my introduction to Desiree Lafawn. A little heat, a little suspense and a fast-moving story added up to a great read. I'm looking for the the next book in the series, but Ms. Lafawn is added to my list of favorites.

it was slow but ok
Starts very slow, bad guy very obvious and the ending was very rushed. Several editing errors so author needs to proofread better.
