Very, very basic book. Contains the subjects that a first year business student would learn in undergrad, but with significantly less detail. Read this book if you don't want to sound completely clueless in front of your friends and family that work in finance or accounting. This won't help you if you plan on actually applying finance or accounting information in your future career, education, or personal investing ventures.

An excellent summary of the principles behind corporate finance and investment banking. The ideal reader would have basic background knowledge of business or accounting, but a careful reader with a dictionary handy can keep up too.

The reference to MBA is a bit ambitious. A quick and painless read perfect for someone starting with undergrad studies.

A great intro and rundown of some important accounting and financial topics, with everyday relevance to people that work in the sector. Written for anyone with a beginners understanding of finance and highly accessible.

Also, love that the author acknowledges many finance books are jargon-filled diatribes mostly written for the author’s peers. Glad that he takes the time to make sure readers understand key concepts

Great coverage of what can be a dry topic. Infused with humor in the right places to make the read very entertaining.

Read the 2nd edition. It's a good introductory book to basic finance concepts for people who have not studied finance before. Like the way how the author presents the concepts with interesting background story and narrative. Definitely worth a read for people who want to understand some accounting and finance.

Very basic principles of Finance

A well organized book, but too simple for anyone who works with Finance. This book is aimed at those who are searching for basic knowledge, and certainly does not have not a "MBA"-like content. The first chapters on accounting and corporate finance are good, but the last few are very shallow.

This is a pretty preliminary finance 101 book. Good for those who've never learnt finance in college. For those finance majors, don's waste your time.
