I started reading this because I couldn't even glance at the cover without cracking up. But now I'm really irked.
My issues with the book can be summed up in one sentence: the author can't count.
If you look at the title you'll see the series is called "A Bride for Eight Brothers". And on the cover you'll indeed find eight ridiculously objectified men. But I'm now 65% of the way through the book and there's definitely seven brothers, not eight. Here, I'll count them out for you.
1 - Matt; 2 - John; 3 - Ryan; 4 - Ty; 5 - Lachlan; 6 - Brock; 7 - Peter. 7!
Don't get me wrong; I'm not saying this book needs more men. There is enough testosterone in this book to fill a warehouse. I'm just a little crazy about editing mistakes.

The only explanation I can think of for this discrepancy, besides the author's appalling lack of arithmetic skills, is that there might be some secret eighth brother that shows up later in the series. In which case, way to spoil that twist in the title.

1era lectura: 4 estrellas.

Sweet story with a fantastic HEA.

Mikayla is traveling with her fiancee, Jet who claims she's a lousy lay and dumps her alone with no resources on a mining colony where men outnumber women 300 to 1. The only viable profession for women there is prostitution.

Matt is one of 8 brothers working on the mining colony as scientists. He visits the strip club/brothel and sees an obviously strained Mikayla being pawed at by a sadistic guy. (BTW Rape is not outlawed on this colony) So Matt's conscience gets the better of him and he purchases Mikaya's contract from her new pimp. Matt takes her back to the research station where he and his brothers are living.

They don't know what to do with her at first because she's been so emotionally traumatized. All of the brothers present want her, but don't want her to feel like a whore.
They give her an Administrative assistant job since she won't leave without paying them back.

The sweet seductions begin shortly. All brothers are different. The sex scenes were good. Twins who like to share, Matt is controlling, John likes it rough, couple of Doms with sweet sides.

*** SPOILER ***

Oh, and the shithead who stranded Mikayla on the rock at the start of the story gets his in the end too! :b

Good story. Recommended!

Quite frankly, I thought this book was silly. First of all, there are seven brothers. Not eight. Second, the plot was a little too far-fetched for me and not developed enough. You don't get to know any of the characters in any way, shape or form. It's too short. It felt like it was over before it started. It almost in a way read as a "Intro to Erotica" book...with just a little bit of everything thrown in. You've got BDSM. You've got menage. You have the deep-throating. You have the vanilla sex. You have the anal sex. It just didn't flow well, didn't read well, and Mikayla's character was just...weird. I gave it two stars for the menage scene.

Abby Blake has created a series that is unique and intriguing, with characters that are fascinating and fun to read. The books in this series do not stand alone, and must be read in order. I enjoyed meeting each of Mikayla’s seven men in book one, and this one brings us the eighth brother in the family.

On a future earth, where polyamory and polygamy are legal, and rather commonplace, Mikayla and Lachlan are staying put, while the rest of her husbands are finishing out their contract on the ice planet where they met. Because of some twisted laws on the planet, prostitution is legal, but pregnancy is outlawed. Since Mikayla is currently four months pregnant, she is sitting on earth until the baby is born.

When a wounded man shows up at the door in the middle of the night, Mikayla meets brother number eight, Bryce, twin of Matt. When he discovers that Lachlan isn’t alone, and that Mikayla is wife to his seven brothers, he does everything he can to get Lachlan to toss him out. Bryce is the family black sheep, and they believe he is a murderer. But Mikayla sees through his tricks, and realizes he is basically good.

When Lachlan has to return to the ice planet to rescue his brother Brock, he entrusts Mikayla’s safety to Bryce, in spite of his misgivings. Can Bryce protect Mikayla from harm? When a medical emergency strikes, can the husbands accept what happens? Can Mikayla bring Bryce back into the family fold?

I love this world. Ms. Blake has built, a combination of Earth of the future, and new and unexplored planets. Each of the characters has a distinct personality, and every one is delicious in their own way.

Mikayla is frustrated in this one, with only one husband at her side, Lachlan. He is being overly protective, and she’s had all of it that she can take. When brother Bryce shows up, she is shocked, because none of her husbands ever mentioned an eighth brother. When she spends time with Bryce, Mikayla sees in him the same qualities that made her fall in love with the other seven men.

Bryce is not what he appears to be. There are some mysteries to him, both in the past and now. Not even his brothers know the truth about him, and what he’s done for the past ten years. Yes, he is handsome and sexy, just like the rest. But there is a sadness to him, and a gentle caring that sees to it that Mikayla is taken care of above all else. I loved watching as Mikayla found her way into his heart, just as she did with his brothers.

I am looking forward to the rest of this series, and I recommend it to those science fiction fans who like their stories hot and sexy, with a side on danger and mystery to them. But these must be read in order, so be sure to read Mikayla’s Men, book one in the series.

Have you ever heard of the movie Seven Brides for Seven Brothers? (Great movie by the way.) Now imagine one bride for seven brothers—that's right, I said one bride for the lot. How could something like that possibly happen?

By falling for the wrong man and ending up stranded on a mining planet where the men outnumber women three to one. If a woman isn't married, she earns her living servicing men until she has enough credits to leave.

Enter Mikayla Noone, stranded and desperate. Starvation has driven her to a pleasure club. Unfortunately, her boss sees her lack of dancing skills and to recoup his losses, sells her to one of the men in the club. Luckily for Mikayla, it's Matt Davidson.

Matt's soft heart and conscience won't allow Mikayla to be sold to anyone else. He takes her home, explains her situation to his six brothers, and they all plan to send her back to Earth on the next transport—except Mikayla wants to stay and honor the terms of her contract.

I love the premise of MIKAYLA'S MEN, but this is the only piece of the story that seemed convenient for me. Mikayla jumped to the enjoying-sex-with-seven-strangers decision too quickly for me. She didn't have any family or other ties on Earth to return to, but that information comes out later and doesn't seem like enough of a reason to leap into a polyamorous relationship.

Having said that, I absolutely adored each of the Davidson men. Matt, John, Brock, Lachlan, Ryan, Ty and Peter are all gorgeous hunks that pamper and love Mikayla in the sweetest and sexiest ways possible. Each man has his own distinct personality—both emotionally and sexually—and I couldn't help falling for every one of the brothers right along with Mikayla.

Abby Blake packs a huge, emotional wallop into MIKAYLA'S MEN. Page-scorching sex and heart-warming sighs round out a busy but fulfilling story. Whatever your interest, there's a Davidson brother to satisfy every appetite!

LoL oh what can I say to this. I read the first one and was a bit curious on the second one. I haven’t read any since but it was full of WTF moments. Eight brothers, really? Okay so they like to say they are into multiple spouses, but I don’t hear of that going on in the same family usually. You’d think some of these guys would get bored being stereotyped as exclusive doms, or they share (twins of course), or they are sweet and giving in the bedroom, but no it seems that’s what they are and they never stray from that.

The villain is one of the brother’s ex fiancé. I say one because I honestly can’t keep track of them all. He’s all butt hurt because she rejected him after he made the oh so reasonable request of letting half a dozen of his brothers bed her. Really? OH comeon Abby you can’t be serious. I think 99.9% of women would tell a man to go F himself is he said that too her. The whole lawsuit thing was dumb and unrealistic as well.

Why are all the brothers in this pack together? What made all of them say ‘if we get a women lets ALL share her!’? I might see the twins wanting to share or a few of the others who are close but all together? That woman is one extreme nympho to keep them happy all the time, and I mean all the time.

I haven’t read the others but I’d find it curious how Mikayla or w/e her name is would react if one of the other brothers meets another women to bring into the family? We see how jealous she gets when two women start working with them. It’s okay for her to have 8 but no other women is allowed in? Isn’t that how these marriages work? I can see her throwing such a pity party fit they’d all give her their vow to be the only woman ever.

I kept thinking how bad it must smell living with 8 men in a small popup home all the time. And the food she cooks, I hope she cooks about 4x what’s normal.

You’ll be captivated and drawn in right from the very first chapter. Abby Blake has a winner with a story that has it all: a heroine you can’t help but admire, eight sexy, incredible, divinely masculine brothers, who not only save her from a fate worse than death, but together, give her life new meaning and purpose.

Each interlude Mikayla has with one or two of her heroes, is a delicious and sensually satisfying foray into the unknown. You can't help but admire her bravery and honor and that of her heroes who think that they really just want a woman to keep them all sexually satisfied for the next year.

Their attitudes and feelings for Mikayla quickly change to acceptance, tenderness, caring and more. The emotional link that binds them all, makes this love story unique, evocative and thrilling, yet satisfying on so many levels, quite a feat for a relatively short story of just over 100 pages!

The writing is wonderfully written, sad, funny, erotic and sweet. The plot, wickedly fascinating and sure to leave you gasping for more. Thank goodness this is just Book one of six.

With well-defined characters and an interesting otherworldly setting, expect an emotional hook to draw you back each time and keep you there till the very end. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy today!

3.5 out of 5. For those who like romance with menage, this is certainly the series for you. Eight husbands? I can't even imagine it. One is almost more than I can handle. Yet in this futuristic world, Mikayla is saved from the sex slave market by one of the brothers and when they find out her history and why she was there in the first place, they become aware of her in a different way. While all the brothers are not opposed to being recipients of her "services" it turns out that their emotions become involved and in a world where multiple marriage/polyamorous families are the norm, Mikayla becomes wife to all the brothers--seven initially. This is a novella as are all the books in this series. It certainly was an entertain read and I don't know which is the greater fantasy--living on a planet in a Universe connected by space travel, or having to keep eight husbands happy. I certainly have to keep reading to see how this lady pulls this off. My lower rating is more due to the brevity of the work rather than the story or the quality of writing. I am really a bit peeved at all the novellas in the ebook world--certainly a lucrative market for the publisher. But having said that, some of these series are such fun that I will pay the price even if I find they are somewhat inflated.

Clare C's Review

Abby Blake packed a lot of story into 100 pages. The premise of marrying seven men seems a bit much, but since it’s science fiction, it’s much easier to believe. I liked Mikayla and I liked each of her men.

The story is very fast-paced. It sucks you in with its simple style and interesting characters. Being the first in the series, it seems to serve as more of an introduction to the characters. We don’t really get to know anyone in depth, but it’s a fun read, so depth isn’t quite necessary for enjoyment. Each of the men are different archetypes of the dominant male, including two Doms and a set of twins who like to share, so there’s a little something for every taste.

Mikayla’s Men is a great escape and I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series to see how her relationships with the men and how the larger story arc with the villain who picks up women and abandons them at a planet where they’re forced into prostitution unfolds.

A continuation of Mikayla's story--these six novellas are not stand alone stories but are dependent upon the previous books. These men certainly show a serious sense of honor and maturity about this woman, taking her in, housing her, saving her from a terrible fate when her "fiance" brought her to this planet with the express purpose of leaving her stranded and being sold as a sex slave, all unbeknownst to her. Her relationship with these brothers continue to expand and they learn that she is an honorable person who keeps her word and who is worth knowing and allowing in their life. Again, at this point, there are only seven brothers present. All are different is many ways, and there are several sets of twins. As polyamorous families are the norm, it is not unusual for families to be made up of multiple fathers or multiple mothers. A fun read set in the future but the most fun is watching this woman manage seven men of very differing needs and personalities. I am amazed she isn't crazy.

When I was searching for something new to read I came across this one. I like menage books, but I have to say this one caught my attention for being so far out there. How could one woman possibly satisfy so many men? So I picked it up and wasn't disappointed. I liked how it started, with Mikayla being ditched by a slimeball ex and being rescued by Matt. After getting to the research base and meeting the brothers things seemed to run smoothly. I would have liked alittle more details on how they made it work, how did they determine who Mikayla stayed with which night and so forth. The ending chapter seemed alittle rushed, but it still had a good ending in the Epilogue. I am looking forward to reading the next book to see how the series continues.

Does this book have a plot? No
Is the world building good? Meh it's vague
Is the writing good? Better than most

If you're looking for a book just to satisfy that need of "I-need-to-read-something-that-has-people-fucking-each-other's-brains-out" and has several men doing it on one girl the this book is for you. Usually I'd go for erotica novels with a a rating higher than 4 and a significant number of great reviews buuuuuuuuuuuuuuut eight men and one girl? Hmmm okay I'll give it a try and honestly I'm really not that disappointed with this book. The writings okay. Definitely a lot better than most books read.

Would I recommend it to you?
If you're into some kinky shit then yeah go for it :)

How in the world can a relationship between so many people work? These men are incredibly unique and very exceptional; they were a pleasure to read about. Mikayla’s character was just the right mixture of strength, spunk and trust. There was just the right amount of tenderness, heat and creativity. This book was a pleasure to read, and I am looking forward to the rest of the series. Especially because it left you with one unanswered question. Who is number eight?

Mikayla's Men is book one in the erotica menage series, A Bride for Eight Brothers Series by Abby Blake. This story is about Mikayla, a young woman who trusted the wrong man and ended up a victim of human trafficking. Wheb Matt, one of seven brothers finds her, he buys out her contract and she works on his ship as an administrative assistant. She forms a bond with the men and they share her in and out of bed. The sex scenes are hot and the story is compelling without getting in the way of the sex. This was my first Abby Blake story and I really enjoyed her style. I will definitely keep reading this series.

I really love this book and having loved all of Abby Blake's previous books, that doesn't come as too much of a surprise. There is just so much yumminess and inspiration when there are 7 men involved, all naturally, with their own perversions and kinks that makes the possibilities for these stories too lusty to deny. Having said that I feel that these books are well written enough to also make for a good story, the personalities are different enough to be realistic and the relationships progressed nicely. Plus Abby Blake is a queen of writing good sex scenes. Talk about hot and five more to come where this came from. Onwards I go...

Ok not terrible but also not amazingly amazing..
The truth I really enjoy reading it thought I would have preferred another title something like "A Bride got the Davidson Brothers " or something that would give a little more suspense and a feeling of a longing..
But I have to say that with one woman and so many males I liked the connection that it seams to built with it's one of them even it's very fast the writing and the scenes between them.
It's funny and a bit sexy but it does not last long.

Hmmm 3.7 or 3.8 to be accurate.. I liked more than the first book, I really liked the addition of Bryce the long lost brother, the dangerous one, the black sheep, etc etc etc
True the story just seem like the troubles just sort them selfs out like magic as the sort story line evolves and true in some parts the book seems little more poor than in other parts for the writing view .
But I still seem to like the series so far. It's easy to read and the hole different planets thing has a certain appeal.
Off to start the 3rd one...

Mikayla finds herself abandoned by the fiancee she was whirlwind romanced by on a planet where women have no rights whatsoever, and her only chance of earning money is on her back. About to be sold to someone she doesn´t want to get to know better, Matt steps in and saves the day.
Matt buys her just to get her out of a bad situation, but when they arrive at his home, things change. Could she find what she didn´t know she wanted on this icy planet with these brothers?
Quick read, multiple partners and smutty fluff in a great combo.

I absolutely loved this book! Who doesn't like them some gorgeous hot sexy alpha men? Lol. I thought this story would be really strange being as it is sci-fi but it doesn't seem like it when your reading it. It just reads like a regular menage story with one woman and seven men. WOW! I extremely recommend this book to everyone. It says that these books are not stand alone but this one totally was and it has a happy ending. It's 274 pages of erotic amazing sex ans seven brothers who are close in a lot of ways mostly when it comes to sharing women.

Am I the only one that noticed there are SEVEN BROTHERS in this one??? Is there another brother out there. That really annoyed me because I felt like I was missing something!

I liked that the author split up the relationships a bit. I don't think I would have liked seeing all 7 of the with her at once.

This had a bit of everything: menage, BDSM, polyamory. So at times it felt a bit schizophrenic. But I enjoyed it nonetheless.
