I was a little disappointed in this read. While I loved reading about unique stories in Michigan's history, I felt like a lot of the stories were just fillers.

Having lived in Michigan by entire life I have heard of some of these but not all. Even the stories of the Purple gang and the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa provided new information. Highly recommend for residents of Michigan.

It wasn't bad, probably better suited to a teenage audience. The title is a little miss leading, while there are myths and mysterious it's really just history from Michigan.

Each short chapter tackles a different Michigan mystery. Some have plausible explanations, others are crime-based, some feature aliens, there are prehistoric mysteries and modern ones. The variety of the stories is intriguing and there are plenty of sources listed if a reader finds one mystery particularly intriguing.

As a lifelong Michigan resident, it's always fun to learn about what your state is known for, or can claim as an achievement. According to this book, we have Rosie the Riveter, Paul Bunyan, Sasquatch, our very own Stonehenge and Pompeii and Bermuda Triangle, UFOs, and were the prime location for liquor smuggling during Prohibition.

I love reading books about my home state. Some things I knew about others I didn't. The books stories where short which usually causes my attention to drift but it didn't in this one. I don't know if it because I was attached to the subject matter or the author wrote clearly and got right to the point either way I'm satisfied with the knowledge gained from the quick read.

Excellent Book!

This is an intriguing book that offers many informative facts and interesting stories of Michigan. I'm from, and still reside in Michigan and I was not aware of much of the knowledge offered in the book. I'm happy to have found this well written book!

Interesting as I am from MI

The book was kind of slow do me. Did not hold a lot of detail and seemed like it was put together from bits and pieces of other books.
