I wasn't sure how I felt about Julian and Rogan, mainly because they hadn't been referenced in either of the three previous works. I liked both of them, and certainly the pain and suffering they endured being apart was very sad, but I guess I didn't warm up to them as much.
The political machinations were intriguing, although at a certain point they became far too easy to predict which I never care for.
I was very happy to see Julian and Rogan end up together, plus my glimpse of a few guys from other books was nice.

Stormy Glenn is a bit of a conundrum to me. She's not a very good writer, but her stories are interesting. Maybe she's one of those people who would be great at telling a story around a campfire, but she runs into trouble when she has to put the words on paper. I'm constantly finding mistakes in her books, not just typos, but the wrong words being used. For example, she once used "perspective" when the correct word would have been "respective", then used "prospective" when it should have been "perspective". I've also spotted several incomplete sentences. It's frustrating and happens frequently in her books. On top of that, her characters tend to be rather stereotypical and sometimes insulting. I love her ideas, but her writing is so mediocre that I can't in good conscience rate her books any higher than two stars. Are they worth paying money for? Definitely not. But if you can borrow them from a library source or friend and are into m/m (and sometimes m/m/m) shifter/vampire romance, you might enjoy them.

I liked this book, but one thing that really annoyed me was I didn't get told what happened to the elder and his daughter. I really like to see the bad guys get theirs so to speak when I spent an entire book mentally booing and hissing at them.

It doesn't quite come up to the standard that book 1 of this series set but I found the same thing with the previous instalments as well.

I really had hoped that Stormy would have written Silvanus and Dean's story from the first book. Even though they mated and show up in the series I would still love to read more about them. About what happened after Ash and Darren left them in book 1.

But enough of that, this review is about book 4 of this series.

The excerpt provided before release hooked me and I pre-ordered this title and wasn't the least disappointed apart from not getting to 'see' the baddies meet their punishment that is.

I am a bit annoyed that the blurb isn't even correct. Siren REALLY needs to improve its editing!!! This issue has been getting worse and worse. It needs to be corrected. Normally I wouldn't have downgraded a book so much for that but this should have been noticed by the author at least. I really do like Stormy Glenn normally. She always has light, fun books but this one really wasn't working for me even beyond the editing. I just didn't invest in the characters. The plot wasn't very original or interesting. This was really disappointing for me:(

Too much sadness and sex! I can't believe I just said that... *headdesk*

To be honest, the little things don't bother me, I guess I am still looking for a character as interesting as Love... and I didn't find it in this book! Not to mention, I don't recall reading about either one of these characters before in this series... hmmmm?

At least I know that the next book is about Douglas, I remember him and am wondering how bad things are going to get before they get better for him!

I really liked this book. The depth of despair both Rogan and Julian went through was described so well, I was with them every step of the way. The story of misunderstandings, mistreatment and the pure meanness the villain adds to it all was heartbreaking. Both of them only want to protect the other, and it takes them forever (or at least it felt that way to me) to figure out that they are stronger together than they are apart. Their love and the bond they share only makes everything even more intense.

Rogan has gone through hell, nit just because he lost his mate, but because he was never able to admit who Julian was to him, he was never able to openly grieve. To make matters worse, he can’t let anyone know what was going on between them, and has been made alpha of his pack, replacing Julian. What could be worse?

Julian hasn’t had it easy either, and when he finally returns, old and new enemies pop out of te woodwork and do their best to keep them apart. Interestingly, he still feels drawn to Rogan, but the situation is beyond complicated.

If you like shifter stories, angst, and seeing love win out in the end, you will probably like this book.

Again - an interesting idea -- but - and it is a big but - the idea fizzed out and was swallowed by the gaps and holes. It ended up as a sort of nice little story, but more frustrating than entertaining.

my scale for Stormy's books are as follows
5/5 exceptional in that the editing/writing is well done
4/5 excellent story idea that is told with out the writing driving me crazy
3/5 might have been excellent but writing drove me bonkers
2/5 swear to god this was a last minute fill in
1/5 could not read this it was so bad.

First things first. The blurb is wrong. OMFG! Make me crack a laugh. There are people saying this for years!
I used to like this book but the reread killed it for me. A theme in this series. I understand both the sides of MCs but what make me wonder is Julian risked a lot faking his death. How he would know if his mate don't kill himself? Rogan blamed himself about his "death". I think that the base storyline is great but the executions is lacking. In another writer hands the premises in this series would be great. I never can say with the problem with the books of Ms. Glenn are lazyness or bad writing. Both maybe.

This BLURB IS INCORRECT!
Rogan Owens lives a life of secret misery. Three years ago, he lost his mate, who couldn't come out of the closet and acknowledge their bond.
Rogan was the one in the closet.. should have said WHEN HE couldn't come out of the closet..

Btw.. totally petty but ALL of the books so far have minor grammatical errors.. to instead of too, his instead of he..etc.. while you have no problem figuring out the intent, it's very annoying to still on book 4 to be running into this.

So, Julien was attached viciously but managed to get away. A human comes by and helps save him.

3 years go by, and Rogan, who's fully come out of the closet in honor of his 'lost' mate, by chance sees Julian from a distance. Unable to confirm if he's seeing things, he tries to track this guy down.

Once Julian confirms to Rogan that he is in fact alive, he pushes Rogan away, giving Rogan the misplaced idea that he is to blame for the suffering Julian went through. Julian is called home from his inside contact in the clan due to strange and upsetting behavior from Rogan.

Once fully claimed, the boys call in for reinforcements from Grayson, Joel, and Caleb. Their presence deters Elder from making a move, until they leave and then fair game again. The boys come back just in time with Wolf and Vamp council members to witness the end of battle with Elder, daughter and a few followers.

All's well that ends well.. Rogan and Julian start to put their lives back together. Gertie (inside contact) appears to have something possibly going with Julian's adopted human 'father' (Thomas) and all the bad guys are finally caught and being held for trial, the end.

I have got to say. Julian is a freaking idiot to let it almost get to the point that he loses his Rogan before he actually sees what a treasure he has.

I cried at that scene. Not mentioning any specifics because it would ruin it, but you could see that Rogan is a couple more clicks near his breaking point. He almost gave up.

Thank God Julian managed to pull his head out of his ass before it happened.

Alpha males. You gotta love how dense they could get especially when it comes to protecting the people they love.

Best one of the series. I always love lover's that have a second chance. I did a lot of stupid thing while being in love. It's probably why I can understand these guys. What we thing is a good decision, is rarely that.

I wanted to know what happened with Valentina and his father.....Not the first time that the ending let to desire....

3.5 Delightful Divas. I enjoyed seeing how characters from the other stories were woven into Redemption. Showing the growing connections between the clans was nice. I always enjoy Ms. Glenn’s writing and Redemption was a good story. To read this review in its entirety, please visit http://www.darkdivasreviews.com/?p=5422

Meh...predictable. Crazy woman wants man and refuses to believe he's gay. Her daddy is powerful and promises her she can have him, going as far as taking out his mate who happens to be the Alpha. I skimmed a lot of this story. About the only redeeming part of this story was Thomas and Gertrude and that's saying a lot since I don't care for m/f romance anymore.

re-read and 3.5 - 4
4 cause I like the series,
loses some for ending, would have liked a final conclusion to their Elder problem and 13 pages of A sex scene is a bit much.

DNF, 67%

It was just so not interesting. The MCs' personality and reasoning are inconsistent/lame, the villains are so predictable/stupid. I'm amazed that I read this far at all.
