In Dorothy Dearborn's book New Brunswick Ghosts!Demons! she chronicles the paranormal experiences of various New Brunswickers. Excerpt from the "There in the bed beside me in the exact place and in the way she always slep, her arms outside the covers, was Catherine. It was as if she had never got ill and gone to the hospital..........I fought back the fear and forced myself to reach out and touch her arm. It was hard. Stone-cold flesh."
This book was not my favorite book. The stories were okay and were supposedly true accounts of New Brunswicker's paranormal/supernatural experiences. I did not find any of the stories scary or that enjoyable. I love reading and supporting local authors, but I did not really enjoy reading this book.
A bought this book on vacation in New Brunswick, wanting to read a local author, but what a deception. This is a series of short stories that had happen to some people, real ghost story. In a book like that the story depend on the credibility of the person who tell the story and since we, as reader, don't know them, it loose a lot of interest right there. Another big fail is the writing of the author who put those stories on paper, the style is absent and we can't enjoy reading the story. So I find myself with unreliable stories that are not fun to read... big problem for a book. As much as I want to like this book, i can't. Big deception and I recommend that you don't waste time with it.
