She left behind tragedy and betrayal. Can she find healing in the shared embrace of four different men?
Ava's first year at Lockridge College has had a lonely and bitter start. She left tragedy and betrayal in her small town. She might have left her heart as well.
Somehow, she's made connections anyway: Arun, her resident assistant with a golden reputation, and Darius, the confident party boy adored by everyone. These handsome juniors could never see her as anything more than a friend...could they?
One night, Ava meets another pair of gorgeous guys: Colin, ambitious and driven despite his wealth, and Seth, the slow-talking Southerner who coaxes her into the sunshine. In their arms, Ava finally opens herself to intimacy again.
But what happens when attraction ignites between Ava and all four of these men? Can she trust them to help heal the wounds of her past?
This is a Reverse Harem Contemporary Romance Novel with multicultural and interracial relationships and fiery hot explicit scenes. For adult readers only!
Mei Dansen became a romance book lover after snooping through her mother’s hidden stash of historical bodice rippers. (Those painted covers were melodramatic masterpieces and one day, a similar cover will adorn at least one of Mei’s books! A girl’s gotta have goals, right?)
After many sideways and wayward moves in life, Mei is currently settled in a suburb of Washington, D.C. with her loving husband and sometimes-loving feline. In her spare time, she daydreams about romance plots and someday attending a nearby BTS concert.
3.5 stars rounded up because I've been slumping hard but this one pulled me right in
Wanting Ava is an emotional and character driven debut RH that I enjoyed. The focus of the story was on establishing the main characters and their relationships. This story also had Ava's past and how she was dealing with the fallout as a major plot point, which was where the emotions hit. There is a lot of steam in this one and I'd classify it as a faster burn RH. The guys are hot and have great chemistry with Ava.
Ava is a freshman at college and finds herself meeting and attracted to multiple men, who return that interest *and* are willing to share her. I found the main male characters to be a bit more likable than Ava. They were so caring and supportive of her while Ava's dealing with life-changing events along with the start of her first year of college. There was a lot of anger and some holding back on her part because of what she'd been through and while it made complete sense for her character, it was hard for me to relate to at times. We get decent backgrounds on Ava and each of the guys and the story is multi-POV, which I liked here a lot. I'm hoping that Ava develops more of a friendship with her new roommate in book 2 since I see the potential in that relationship and I love strong, female friendships in RH.
I believe there'll be more relationship drama in the plot in the next book based on the blurb and it will be interesting to see how the group deals with challenges. As a note, there's the potential that there could be mm among the harem in the next book. The possibility was hinted at in this book, but it was also left as maybe not happening. The guys are definitely focused on Ava though. I did appreciate that there was no other woman drama considering this is a college-aged romance and so many do include other woman drama. This was a good debut and I'll be checking out Ms. Dansen's future releases too.
My second read by Mei Dansen and I really enjoyed this 📕! Ava has been experiencing her first year in college life. Be aware this is a steamy right off the bat RH with all the feels. Ava has had a trouble past trauma that she has carried with her. Meeting 4 men who she is attracted to and wanting to pursue all of them. They are willing to share so what’s the wait.
You really get to dig deep into learning about Ava and her men. They are supportive and devoted only to Ava. Not a lot of drama and a good set up to the second book in the series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Read this series. If you like RH and contemporary storylines with real life situations and true emotion, this author will get you hooked.
Most series the great book is the best and then things go down hill. This series is consistent and well written from start to finish. There is true depth. To the characters and the stories they each have to tell. There’s spice but it doesn’t detract from the stories. And there aren’t 40 pages of internal monologues like some books can be. This is well written, well edited, and just overall well executed.
I even wrote individual reviews for each book in the series, which I never do.
This book doesn't get much attention but I really like it and it does show the college experience well. It is a book on the faster burn side so lots of steam while it is a good story too. Ava is a girl with baggage and she meets 4 guys which she's interested in. Three make it clear they want to share her as they have shared before. Will Ava do this? And what about Arun? The fourth guy she likes. Really nice and read it in 2 days.
