"★★★★★ A gem of a novel for fans of historical fiction" – Reader's Favourite Terra Nulla is inspired by the true story of Edward Eyre's journey through The Nullarbor Desert, one of Australia's harshest landscapes spanning more than a thousand miles. Accompanied by an ex-convict and three aboriginal boys, Eyre leads the expedition beyond the point of no return. Every step soon becomes a gamble against the odds in a deadly game, where it's every man for himself and nothing is sacred.
This was fiction based on fact which I personally found made it all the more interesting. I loved the attention to detail that brought the scenes and the characters to life. I was truly transported to another time and place while I read this book. It's definitely a book that captures your imagination and gives you a glimpse of what it must have been like to take on such a mission in the blistering heat of outback Australia. The characters were each unique and well developed. A story well told, very down to earth with just a hint of the mystical. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes a good story that's also capable of delivering some insight to how life was for some of these brave explorers and natives of that era.
