Most often, readers ask, "Who influenced you?"

I share Dr. King's dream.

Additionally, you can see my bookshelves here where I review and rate every book I remember reading.

Besides the Saardu series, which is my way of explaining death and the circle of life, I write of personal pain and overcoming. For example, "10 Most Annoying Things People Say to NICU Parents (...when they're only trying to help!)" Grief is universal, but each of us enters and exits it in our own ways.

My greatest literary influences are Professor Richard Walter, who teaches Advanced Screenwriting for MFA students at the UCLA film school. He taught me everything I needed to know about the ancient art of storytelling. The American poet, E.E. Cummings (don't lecture me about upper/lowercase--he preferred E.E., do some research and you'll find that out), is dear to me and I carry him as my spiritual grandfather in my heart. Poetry was my first love, especially freestyle. Kurt Vonnegut, when asked why he wrote fiction novels, answered that he did so to reach the minds of young people before they become Senators and Generals, to "infect them with humanity."

That is my passion. I aim to give my descendants a more harmonious world. I also love to have fun and make fun, and encourage playfulness and spontaneity!

I hope you find my work as transformative as my husband does.

This book was poorly written and amateurish.

It also seems sad that the author rated her own book- giving it 5 stars, of course.

Stay classy.

11/24/19: Hi, I'm the author, that's why I don't rate reviews on my titles.
Saardu: The Adventure Begins - 2nd Edition was just released and has been improved, both Kindle and paperback.

Just a quick note to inform readers that I am currently preparing the entire Saardu saga for paperback release. Currently re-writing Saardu 2 and will then move on to 3, 4 and 5. I hope readers will follow progress as new releases are announced in 2020. The Kindle editions will be updated when the paperback manuscripts are completed, both revisions published the same week, in 2020. I'm hopeful that I can wrap up Saardu 2 in time for holiday gifts, but I won't rush it for commercial gain.

My apologies for rushing to get these stories out of my head and onto the page - it is a very hard job and a lonely one, to be a writer, and when a huge new myth like Saardu explodes your brain, you want to get it all out and you're so excited, you can't wait to share it. Then you're exhausted, and you want to move on. But now that it has been many years and I've dabbled in all sorts of other topics and hobbies, and now that Amazon has some great new tools for on-demand paperback publish (very impressive - affordable and quality!) ... after wrapping up my latest project, 42 Shades of Blush: The Passionate Artistry of Alexandre Nodopaka ... I found myself eager to revisit Saardu.

So, please look for those new editions in 2020. It's going to be much improved, much clearer and easier to follow, and there will be new and exciting tidbits to make it worth re-reading! For those who haven't read it yet - wait for these versions - COMING SOON, I PROMISE!

Thanks for your minutes today, just wanted to go on record about these books.
Thanks! ~ Carma Chan

This was a very fast and confusing read. I wasn't actually sure what the author was trying to accomplish, but too me; the point was missed.
