Well, my fictional life sounds more interesting, but not better than my real life. Really, I'm the happily married mother of four. I cook a lot, garden and weave baskets! I write for Montlake Romance and Harlequin. My books range from lighthearted comedies to more serious dramas...but at heart, they're all stories of love.
I don't always set out to write a series of books, but seem to find myself gravitating to them. Because so many people have asked, I've posted lists of all my series in order at www.hollyjacobs.com/bookseries.html. I really try to make each story stand alone, but many of my readers enjoy reading the series in order. Hope this helps!
Thank you to everyone who's picked up a single book, or more of them. I'm so lucky to be surrounded by so much support!
For once Fern, Blossom and Myrtle are getting a taste of their own medicine, though their Fairy Goddaughter turned Fairy Godmother is going far too easy on them. But as it's her first assignment we can let her off. The crazy trio have been made human and sent to live in Erie without their magical powers for 6 months, so they can learn what it's like for their charges. Hopefully they will find their own happily ever afters.
Fairly Human is about three godmothers Myrtle, Fern & Blossom who push their luck with the Fairy council, as punishment they are sentenced to six months as humans - no magic, no nothing.
I loved the characters each having their own specialty and it was lovely to see them falling in love. I'll admit I was a little disappointed in parts Holly Fuhrmann could have added a bit more comedy to it. She could have even split this single novel into three books and we could have had a more in depth look into each individual fairy godmother and their other half.
That being said; this book is a lovely cozy read that you can pick up and complete in a few hours.
I really enjoy this series when I need a quick light hearted read. Welcome back, Fern, Blossom and Myrtle as the girls are returned to earth without their fairy powers in their original fairy form. The fairy godmothers are sent to Erie for 6 months to see how their meddling effects humans. Not surprisingly, the girls find true love and must decide if they remain with the humans or return to Fairyland. A great read, nice to catch up with all the previous characters from books 1-3.
What a wonderful ending to this series. ( I do hope we get to see more of these characters, maybe dropping into different books from time to time, hint hint!) To see the 3 fairies finally getting their own Happy Endings is the best ending of all. Holly never disappoints, her books are the high point to any collection, including mine.
This is a great book; this is the fourth book in the Dear Fairy Godmother series written by Holly Jacobs. Myrtle, Fern, and Blossom have successfully found all three Aaronson siblings their own happily-ever-afters. But in doing that, they've stepped over the line. The Fairy Council has sentenced them to live as humans for the next six months. But not as their familiar, comfortable selves. Instead, they’re to revert back to their true forms, gorgeous women guaranteed to make any man stand up and take notice. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Completing their task of finding happily ever afters for all three Aaronson siblings, the three fairy godmothers find themselves up on charges of stepping over the line from the council; their sentence is to live as humans for six months including their falicies and hopes for the future and the possibilities for romance of their own. When their sentences are complete the three women must decide where their futures lie, back in the fold of their fairy-kind or with the men they have come to love. Which will they choose?
. Fast paced and humorous make this a fun read. Fern, Myrtle and Blossom will soon steal your heart and leave you wanting more. This is a wonderful series that lets you escape into the mind of Holly Jacobs/Fuhrmann for a few pleasurable hours. Each book is capable of being read as a stand alone. Take a break from the daily grind and get to know three very special Fairy Godmothers and those they call their own. My rating is 4.5 out of 5 stars.
It's cute, it's light, it's completely implausible but all in all, a nice quick read for a lazy afternoon. I have not read Jacobs before (and hadn't read any of the books in this series) so thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. This is not the sort of book I would normally pick but I enjoyed it and you will too if you've ever wanted to know the other side of the fairy godmother tale. I'd like any of these three to be mine- especially after their experiences as "real" women.
A quirky story of three fairy godmothers who are sent to live without their magic powers. Whilst in the midst of their punishment, they find their hearts desires.
This book is very unusual but I enjoyed it very much. A story to make you smile.
It has been a pleasure getting to know Blossom, Myrtle and Fern. Their penchant to push the boundaries of their powers in the name of love makes for some hairy situations but always works out in the end. Or does it? Fairly Human, shows that every action has consequences and sometimes the most unexpected turns can bring the biggest blessings. Even fairies deserve happiness. A sweet concoction of nostalgia, comedy and hope that wraps its arms around the reader and pulls them in to a world of possibilities.
The fourth book in the Dear Fairy Godmother series by Holly Jacobs is a great read! I had no clue what to expect going in but the characters were cute and quirky and made the whole book.
Blossom, Myrtle & Fern have a chance to be human without the fairy powers and to explore the city of Erie while all perusing their own love interests.
This books was a quick happy read that left me smiling. Highly recommended.
The last in the fairies series finds the three fairy godmothers sentenced to spend six months as humans. To their surprise. the experience sets them on new paths. I like the series, but this is probably the weakest of the four books. It wanders a bit far afield of the initial premise.
Fairly Human by Holly Jacobs is the fourth book in the Fairy Godmothers series. I thought I had read the previous book when I requested the book, but looking back I apparently did not. I still enjoyed the book, but had less understanding of the backstory and character dynamics that played a large role in this book. It could be read alone, but I do think that readers that have read the other books will enjoy this installment more than a new reader.
Myrtle, Fern, and Blossom have finally stepped over the line. The Fairy Council has sentenced them to live as humans for the next six months and the Council strips away their facades. Rather than the older-lady personas they've grown used to, they revert back to their true forms--super hot women guaranteed to make any man stand up and take notice. The fairies find themselves on independent paths that collide with three different men who teach Myrtle, Fern and Blossom about a magic that has nothing to do with fairies and everything to do with love. Now Myrtle, Fern and Blossom must decide whether to return to Fairyland or throw aside their previous lives and build new ones with the men they love.
Fairly Human was a little disappointing to start with, mainly because I somehow missed the earlier books in the series, even though I thought I had read them. This means that it took me awhile to get into the story and figure out just who was who, and the particulars of each personality. Once I got passed that hurdle I really enjoyed the discovery of true love for each fairy godmother. The fighting, coming into their own, and unfolding love stories were fun and entertaining to read. I was distracted by the good of those storylines every time the narration switch from one of our ladies to deal with Bernie and his plans. It just took me out of the three well told and occasionally highly entertaining tales to something that felt unnecessary. My other issue was the wrap up. All of a sudden everyone just shrugs and figures it all out, a little too easy and convenient with a few lingering questions about just how the trio are going to deal with the future.
Fairly Human is a book that fans of the series will definitely want to read, because i hope it ties up some loose ends and bring the rest of the story together. It was entertaining, and very fun at times, but not something that is going to stick with me or inspire me to read the previous books.
