The Werewolf Whisperer - the second installment in the Vampire Love Story series...
For Josiah Reign, life as he knows it has been forever changed. In two shorts months he went from unbeliever to the "The Chosen" - savior of the Mani people (a vampire race that has been living underground for 10,000 years). Now Josiah must learn to control his powerful new body, all while understanding his destiny...and falling deeper in love.
Soon Josiah realizes that to understand his calling, he must save a young werewolf...a werewolf with incredible powers of his own. Along the way, alliances are forged and old enemies rise again. And when tragedy strikes, Josiah must make the ultimate choice...and face an evil far greater than anything he'd ever imagined.

This could have been really great if the writing was much better and I honestly think the author should have gone with a different series title because it doesn’t focus on the love story at all.
Good grief I wanted to stop reading so many times but I powered through even though the writing was just so choppy, I felt like it was someone trying to roleplay for the first time or the author wrote it as a rough draft and then just skipped the final draft and published this.
I doubt there was any proof reading because besides the many choppy sentences, there were also missing words and in a few places, the quotation marks were missing.
I even took the liberty to bookmark a few places in my kindle with the worst of the choppy sentences.
Example: “I made sure no one could see me. I circled the grass a couple of times. Damn I was horrible at this.” “I jogged across the street over to Lena’s trailer park. I found her trailer and walked up to it. I knocked on the door. There was no answer.”
That’s only a sample, there are many places that are just like that. I do not, and I suspect other readers as well, need a play-by-play of every little thing this guy does and if it had to be that way, don’t make the sentences choppy like that. That’s what commas and conjunctions are there for, to fill out your sentences and actually give your book some life, to give your readers some details.
You are in for another great escape! The story of Tommy and Josiah continues. Will they be able to escape from the enemies that hunt them? Step into the world of manis. and carnies and see who manages to escape their foes! Plus test assured this story will allow you to escape reality for a while.
Josiah is still struggling-both emotionally and physically-with his conversion into the Mani’s Chosen One. Not helping are his feelings toward both Lena, a former human, and Yari (who stopped being human three centuries ago). In addition, while he’s trying to decide who and what he is now supposed to be, and find his purpose, Krull, the leader of the fallen Mani, arrives to take Josiah under.
Josiah’s grief for his deceased and then missing roommate and best friend, Tommy, is still going strong-until he discovers that Tommy somehow recovered from the Carni attack and has been hiding out, without memory of anything after the attack. He takes Tommy under his wing again, along with the Mani Yari, Wyatt, Hector, and the newly-converted Lena. His first vision instills in him the idea of training Tommy, who is still a Carni-a werewolf, after all.
Every bit as exciting as the author’s Urban Fantasies “Bad Blood,” “Vampire Love Story,” and “Werewolf Love Story,” this is another don’t miss from H. T. Night. “The Werewolf Whisperer” is also Book Two in the “Vampire Love Stories” quintology.
The main characters are transparent and one-dimensional and my 5 year old could have come up with a better plot. It's apparent from the beginning of this series that it was written by a fat hetero male with repressed homosexual tendencies who was undoubtedly socially awkward. The author has tried, with no success, to create a hero-like main character but instead has uncannily created the typical southern California Herb Jones... ya know, the douche bag that smells like polo sport, in his rainbow sandals and striped collared alligator logo shirt that hits on anything with a pulse after he's downed a few shots of yager. What a waste of .99 cents and a complete waste of time. Don't bother reading these books, they are absolutely horrid.
After the ending in the vampire love story, I was hoping that Josiah and Tommy would meet up again in the next story and this book didn't disappoint. It also worked for me in the way that it expanded a bit more on Jo's relationship with Lena, which hadn't been focused on as much in the first book as I would have liked. This book took it a step further and I enjoyed it. Having Josiah work with Tommy in terms of taming him was a brilliant idea and I was right there with them along for the ride, in moments hoping that Tommy didn't turn and end up hurting anyone. Great book and a must for fans of the writer, and also fans of all things Supernatural.
60% in and I couldn't finish =( I just didn't care that much, believe me, I tried and I just couldn't make myself care. Two stars because there was some interesting stuff that happens in the book, but the overall character development was just weak. Who are these people? Why should I care about them? It did not give me much to go on. Oh, the first book of the series was Vampire Love Story...however, I don't recall much of a love story. This is the first time I have EVER not completed a book. Sorry, just not doing it for me...on to the next one!
In the second book in the Vampire Love Story series, Josiah has been transformed into "The Chosen One" a vampirewho is supposed to save the good Mani, vampires, from the evil Mani. This book was so much better than the first. Action packed from beginning to end with romance added in for Josiah, he learns that he must "train" his best friend, Tommy, who is also a werewolf, Carni. With his small group of friends, Josiah realizes that there is a greater purposeand reason for everything.
I liked this book just as much as the first one, which is a good thing! Feelings of anxiousness, grief, joy, surprise, and plenty of humor. Josiah is a very real character with tons of personality. So valiant that it interferes and slows down progress with his love life. And Tommy, I am so glad to see his return. With the return of Krull as well things have gotten quite interesting! Onward to the following books in the series!
I loved this book as well! I also love how almost all of the beings have a bunch of money and they don't have to work for their houses and estates. (Make me wanna be a Mani as well.) :) I found that the training was a bit short and almost far too easy. Even the Chosen shouldn't have gotten it in just one night. It was a bit predictable. Other than that... I loved seeing how the Mani and Carni worlds.
In this book, the main character learned more about the background of what he had become and the progression of his special skills. This books seemed to be a story building book in the set - setting up for the rest of the books. Quick, easy, entertaining reading. I can't recommend the series at this point but I am enjoying it.
I still can't relate to the characters at all, and find their relationships and interaction really lacking, but I am curious about the prophesy-structured plot. The characters need a great big dose of humble pie, but I am going to keep reading...
I kept hoping this would get better, but it doesn't. The relationship with his best friend the werewolf seems like it should progress to them developing a romance, but then there are stupid sophomoric " we're not gay" jokes thrown in.
Meh, if I didn't already have all these books on my kindle, I'd stop reading them. The stories just seem... really young. I guess I'm used to a more in depth and gripping story. It's really easy for me to put these books down.
This is the second book in the series. And it's a book, not a novella. It's vampires and werewolves, but with a twist. And they aren't your everyday supernatural "people". I enjoyed it. It's different.
Hugely not expected! Nothing like finding out that your best friend is alive and you have to "train" him. Similar to when he trained you to be an MMA fighter. Then finding out, your friend is really your true love and, your lover is really just your friend.
I made it to page 18. This book did not interest me. Just started out lame. I felt confused right from the get go. Figured it wouldn't get better. From the other reviews I just read I'm not alone.
2nd book in series another really good book love that Josiah has to go to Dracula's castle to train with a blue gnome. Lena is written as a bit whiny and wimpy hope that changes. Love the friendship between my 2 MMA dudes Josiah and Tommy. the love triangle seems a little off though
And doing it well. This was a particularly touching read. Josiah helps someone close to him realize his full potential and raises him out of this darkness. Fantastic journey. If you haven't fallen in love with HT's characters yet, you will in this book.
slightly better than the first book in the series. still poorly written, and characters aren't well developed. curious enough to move on the book three...
