Perfect little omega duology #1

Perfect Little Omega: Part One

Rate this book
As the only daughter of a prominent crime boss, I grew up knowing I would eventually be married off to form some kind of alliance for the family. I thought that changed on my 18th birthday when the scents of two alphas woke my Omega nature and forced me into heat for the first time.

Instead, my father still wants an alliance, now more than ever. Shipments are going missing, deals going sour. Someone has declared war on our family and we need all the help we can get.

But how am I supposed to choose when THOSE alphas are competing for me? How am I supposed to resist them when their scents call to me? And how is an alliance going to save us when the betrayal hits so close to home?

Perfect Little Omega is an 18+ super spicy, why choose omegaverse romance with MMFMM. Ends on a cliff hanger. Contains degradation and praise kink, including spanking and spitting. Brief discussion of human trafficking and forced prostitution.

Everybody in this felt a little too juvenile for me. My mind kept telling me that they were teenagers impersonating mafia members with really bad, fake italian accents and that...was distressing. I've been reading a lot more books with mid 20s early 30s leads so that also might be the problem since I think Sloan is only 18?

I think maybe the reason why it felt like they were so young was the dialogue which was probably some of the stiffest I've read. Example: *ahem*

“Holy shit. As in BROOKS CONTI? Your father’s biggest rival? The boss of everything on the east side?” Max practically screeches as she fake swoons back onto the couch

"Yes,” I giggle, “Brooks Conti and the rest of his pack. All of which are super hot, if you weren’t aware.”

“Oh, I’m aware, Sloane, trust. I saw them at the club. I know exactly what that pack is working with. And, if I were you, there wouldn’t even be a competition. I’d be riding them all back home before the other two families could make a good argument about why I should choose them.”

“Max!” I mockingly admonish her before breaking down into a fit of giggles.

Another one:

Enzo turns, one hand still on the door.

“Consider this your one and only warning. You are persona non grata along with everyone in your crew, your family, your pack. You are not welcome on my turf. I suggest you move operations by the end of the week.”

"Whatever you say, Conti. Just remember this when we meet next and I’m on Ricci’s side of the fence.”

I've read sonnets with more menace than that.

Very, very meh. I liked the premise & how sweet the guys could be & Sloane’s bond with her father but that was pretty much it. There’s not a whole lot of relationship building on the romance front, and the writing unfortunately wasn’t great. I wanted so badly to be a fan. However, for me, this one was such a flop.

Have you ever stumbled upon a book on Wattpad/AO3 that was terrible but for some reason you couldn’t stop reading it? This is that. It made literally no sense, they were meant to be made men but all acted like literally teen frat boys, don’t even get me started on the twist that somehow managed to be incredibly predictable whilst also making no sense plot wise.

I didn’t even enjoy it and it is a genuinely bad book, but am I about to start the second book? Absolutely.

**Review Shared for Duet**

Almost DNF.

Overall, I really liked the author's writing style. There were a lot of text conversations and it was nice to have something to break up the typical dialogue. And there was a lot of dialogue in this duet. Also the smut was excellent.

Unfortunately, I found the characters to be increasingly annoying throughout the story. Specially in the last half of the second half of the book. Hudson was sooo unbelievable whiney about wanting to be IN Sloan 24/7. He went from a a fierce dom to a bratty sub in my opinion. I much preferred when he was obsessed and a little psycho. But he ended up constantly intruding on Sloan's time with the other guys and seemed to want to be the center of her attention and pouting when he wasn't. "You have to share" was overdone.

Simon was just as if not more annoying. And is a perfect example why I get annoyed with mm. He kept making things about him and his insecurities, and not listening to anyone when they tried to reassure him.

Brooks was the only one of the guys that didn't annoy me.

Sloan was just as bad as Hudson and Simon in other ways, especially towards the end. She was snarling and yelling at the guys when they were just worried about her and wanting to protect her. Considering she went rogue once before, who could blame them? But it was frustrating to see her acting stuck up and treating them so badly after everything. But even in the beginning she was just so hard to relate to. She barely knew the guys but was willing to deny anything bad about them, but she didn't even know them yet. She claimed to not want to let biology control her, but then proceeded to do just that. I just felt like her personality was too split.

Let's be honest... the mmc's acted more like villians when they were courting Sloane - seeing her as nothing more than her designation and taking advantage of her being an omega. And I don't mean they acted morally grey. I mean they acted just as bad as the villians later on in the story.

Antonio's whole story didn't make sense. Sloan felt safe around him and he was the only one that she felt wanted to get to know her and not just sleep with her in the beginning... but then she strings him along for men that so far only use her for sex. She got him more involved with her mates which ended up leading to his underserved death considering he ends up innocent of everything they assumed he was involved in... wtf? So yeah... her mates were just as bad as every warned, even if they warned her about the wrong things.

Lastly, Morris - Sloan's father. He is probably one of the most ignorant characters I've ever read about. He is supposed to be a crime boss but it's entirely unbelievable. He never knew anything about the people closest to him. In the criminal world you have to be careful who you trust and know everything you can about.. everyone. The man didn't even know who his family really was - literally any of them. Hard to believe he survived as long as he did.

The ending was less than satisfying. Most of the people that hurt Sloan were dealt with off page and it just felt like we deserved more justice after everything. Yet the last half seemed to be more about leading up to the next book and harem then about a happy ending for Sloan and her mates.

Perfect Little Omega is a sweet omegaverse meets mafia romance that I couldn't put down! I read the duology over the course of two and a half days and loved every minute of it. Sloane Ricci and her family always believed she was a beta, but on the night of her 18th birthday party, the scent of two alphas triggered an omega heat and her life was changed forever.

The men of the Conti pack are life long friends with three alphas: Brooks, Hudson, and Kaiser, and their beta, teach genius Simon. I love all of these guys! Their sense of humor, how they bicker and rile each other up, but the bonds between them are strong and deep. Brooks sure has his hands full keeping Hudson and Kaiser in line and Simon is just the sweetest! These men are so focused on taking care of Sloane in all the ways she needs, putting her first above anything else. This book is definitely a spicy read which includes a virgin omega, exhibitionism, voyerism, and sharing.

There is more to the story than Sloane and her new pack being perfect mates. Someone is trying to sabotage the Ricci family business, but is it a rival family, or could a traitor be within the Ricci inner circle?

Part 1 ends on a cliffhanger, and part 2 picks right up from the ending scene.

What a twisty ending!

Loved this - excellent omegaverse, with perfect (not fated so nice change!) Mates and mafia twists!
The main Alphas are adorable and the FMC is excellent - not too easy, or quick to fall in love!
Looking forward to delving straight into book 2!

I have been doing a deep dive into the Omegaverse lately and loving every minute of it.

This book was a fun, smutty, omegaverse ride. I liked Sloane. Her struggle to find herself after realizing her Omega designation later than average was interesting. As her father then works to find her a pack that will be advantageous to their mafia family, Sloane is resolved to her fate. I did struggle with how she accepted this with next to no issue. I felt like she was stronger than that.

The Conti family pack finds out Sloane is 'on the market' and go to stake their claim as they are sure they are true mates. Out of all the boys I had a soft spot for Simon. I don't know what it is about those sweet IT boys but he was definitely my favourite. I do want to know more about these guys as I feel like we didn't really get all that much beyond a simple backstory.

As for the plot itself I found it moved quickly which kept me engaged. It was definitely more spice focused overall. I would have loved to have Sloane and the boys get to know each other on more than a carnal level but hopefully that happens more in book two.

I will be reading book two for sure, especially after that ending!

Stunned silent!

I was NOT expecting this book to turn out the way it did! Mafia Omegaverse? YES please! Hudson stole the show for me in this one- He was unapologetically annoying and funny and I couldn’t get enough of him. Brooks, Kai, Si and Sloan round out the harem and they were utter perfection. Loved the side characters too. Sloan’s dad, Morris, was giving me major daddy mafia vibes and all I kept thinking was… I need more of this man and he deserves his own book!

I don’t want to give anything away, but let’s just say that I did not see what happened coming!

I am salivating over here waiting on book two.

I have very mixed feelings. The premise was good and kept reading but things fell flat. Why were the guys so sex driven, never even being able to spend time with her without dirty talking or having some kind of sexual encounter. I felt no true emotions between them more just plain and simple possession which in books can be hot when accompanied with actual emotions. Even Kai and Simon having been together for a long time felt distant and not real emotions or even love. I fail to believe the heir to a powerful mob boss was so naive and giggly at every little thing constantly. That ending? Come on she just shouted about being trained and smart in such a situation then does the very thing that screws everything up. I love a good plot twist especially when I don't see it coming but this one felt like an after thought as if the author knew they wanted a betrayal but didn't know who it would be until they wrote the scene at the end. Made zero sense and was more disappointing than the usual omg moment I normally get with a plot twist. Overall I'm debating reading the next book, might come back to it but no skin off my teeth if I don't.

Ok mafia, arranged marriage ( kinda) omegaverse

Not great, not terrible.
There we moments where I thought: what the... but thankfully not many: descriptions of people going on and on and on and when we have 3-4 people together? Yes! They all get described in detail one after the other!
Another irritating thing: when a female character was getting ready to go out. Dressing up, make up. It should be ... what? 3-4 lines? Instead we have it in detail, down to bra choices and...I' ve no idea. I skipped it as it was few screens long.
All this sounded childish ond out of proportion especially when other things got glossed over.
I didn't find smeggsy times exciting, kinda robotic? majority got skipped as well- but that can be just me. But if it's what you're looking for there is enough of it.
Book one ends with a cliffhanger so be prepared to read/buy two books.

Relationships left me wanting

Storyline is good. Kept me engaged. I like the packs interactions with each other but found their interactions with Sloane tiresome. Her personality needs work because she was contradicting herself too much. Her interactions with the pack were repetitive and I didn’t feel a big connection between them all. As the book said they didn’t want her biology overshadowing her good sense and it seemed like it was because there was little constructive conversations between them.

2.5 but rounded up for the parts that made me keep reading.

There was almost a childish take on many of the characters and it was exceedingly frustrating. Half of them didn’t seem to take anything seriously except getting their dick wet. It felt like too much and inappropriate at times.. and I’ve read a lot of “inappropriate” things. It felt like all of the relationships EXCEPT one were so much at face value of just smut.. the only character who it didn’t feel that way had to wait a long time before having any smut scenes.

I really enjoyed a lot of the mafia premise and thought a lot of the main outline was really good. But it kept getting sidetracked by constant smut and everyone just shrugging and going “well that’s just them.” I really enjoyed a lot of the concepts in the universe but considering none of it had depth it just fell flat? Like nobody was startled by a boss coming into an area, no politicians were bought out or even mentioned. Kinda felt like an AU where the bosses led the world than were these tough bad boys who people fear. Even the mafia groups had nobody beyond a like core 6 or so folks and more background characters would have helped give it depth.

The best of the men is a character who had to go through character growth and when compared to the rest outshined the others. Which ultimately ended up highlighting the blandness of the others. It had so much potential, and honestly if reworked and edited to make it feel less like high schoolers playing mafia it would have been amazing.

I enjoyed this a lot more than I anticipated.

I had read some reviews that were harsh and critical, but after all the self published books that I have, this was pretty good. Yes, some of the behaviors of the male leads was juvenile, so what? Does everything have to be so serious? Really? The book was easy to read, it made sense (I have read many that really needed good editing) good character development, and a good storyline. I wasn't expecting high literature, and I had a good time reading.
The story is about Sloane an omega who presented late, when she smelled a scent matched alpha. After a year in the omega academy, her father needs her to marry into a mafia family to stabilize his place in the city. One of those alphas presented to her as a possibility is the one that caused her to present. Brookes Conti and his pack has waited for Sloane to come back from the academy to pursue her, they already consider her theirs. They find out that whoever is trying to destroy Sloane's father is also trying to let them bond together. Just a warning, first book ends on a cliffhanger, but both books are available.

You little **ut! (Seriously??)

As you can probably tell, **ut is peppered throughout the book. See, there's nothing wrong with a little degradation play, if that's your kink. But, what woman wants to hear that word from her lovers every-single-time there's sex or foreplay involved? Answer: Most don't. That's what's featured here, folks. **uts abound! Hell, **uts unite!!
I digress... Anyway, the story is decent enough. I don't think it's 4.6 stars worthy, but it will do. Once I got past the age of the FMC (19, btw), I was able to deal with the story itself. And, while decent, the book could definitely do with a few less **uts it the dialog. As for her age... I don't know about you, but I remember being 19, and I remember making some pretty dumb decisions on occasion. While I do wish she was at least legal drinking age, I'm using the age Ms. Madison chose to help me get over the extra-stupid-horror-movie-esk decision that Sloane chose to make at the end of book 1. Now, on to book 2. Opening scene: the results of our FMC's decision not to listen to reason.

This was an alright read. It was basically insta love for all the characters and a bit too much smut. I didn't like that Sloane basically hooks up with Kai as soon as she meets him and also kisses Simon when she first meets him. It was quite redundant; at least get to know them first. I also felt like there wasn't any depth in their relationships. Everytime the guys meet Sloane they basically have sex. Even the guys' conversation with Simon was on a deeper level.

I also thought it was quite weird for Kai and Simon to be in a relationship when they barely interacted with each other. I felt like they weren't very receptive to each other's presence or feelings. Even Hudson and Brooks were more concern for Simon than Kai was. Simon could've easily just been an inexperienced beta and his story would've still worked. I'm not sure there was a point in having a MM pairing. The author probably just wanted to include a threesome smut scene later in the story.

This omega duet is good, the author has potential. It’s a solid 3 star but could be a high 4 star with some work. However in a few ways it left me wanting more.

Mafia side needs to be darker and more violent, the smutty side is already really good on the dark edgy side and seeming to be only getting better. So the mafia side needs it too.

The characters have the potential for depth, give them more than a duet to develop that depth and back stories. While that is happening a more comprehensive and thought out plot for the Mafia side could be playing out.

Sloane needs opportunity to show her badass instead of talking about it.

DNF. That was pretty boring for me. Everything and everyone was being described in detail without any actual story, the cars, the house, the clutch she was wearing, how she got out of house to the club moment by moment.. I lost it when the seating area in the club was being described!
