Very well written book for new cooks and children wanting to learn to cook. Definitely was not my favourite although it would probably because it was only three ingredients. However I learned some good techniques from the book. So would definitely suggest at least reading it once.
Why did you check out a kids cookbook? Some of the best recipes come from simple ingredients and techniques. I've been struggling with meal planning lately, so went back to the basics. If you have young children, I would highly recommend this book.
Some of the recipes may be a tad bit sophisticated for your average, picky kid, but, I like. I'd say that my own kids may go for 45% of these recipes, I'd try 70% (we are a pretty picky bunch!) The fact that they are three ingredient recipes makes them a bit less daunting, and less costly than other recipes. Use them as a jumping off point; figure out the flavor profiles that your kids are in to, and go from there. The book is designed to teach, and inspire pre-teen aged kids to eat, experiment, and cook, for themselves and others.
This is a fun cookbook to look through and try the recipes. I would recommend this for children ages 8 and older, though, especially since some of the recipes seem more complicated or fancy; perhaps it should have a new title, "Martha Stewart's Kids Can Cook." Springform pans, puff pastry, pesto, Gruyere, and more - not items our girls are all that familiar with. But on the whole, it's a very good book. It has simple instructions, and of course, only three ingredients in each recipe.
This is a great book for teaching kids basic cooking skills. The recipes are simple enough for preteens to make themselves and will keep the attention of toddlers helping in the kitchen. There is a good variety of recipes to choose from, with many healthy options alongside the normal kid favorites. They style of the book is quite charming as well.
This cookbook is best for the simpler recipes - which makes sense, because they're all three-ingredient dishes. Not too sure what the point of limiting it to three ingredients is. The results can come out pretty bland. Three-step recipes might make more sense to me. But it has an index, and a LOT of recipes.
This book is really neat! I love easy cookbooks. This one, though for kids, has interesting ingredients and combinations, and fun writing like, "Hard boiled eggs and fun things to do with them". Highly recommended!
